  1. Thanks. I was gonna wait for the RC-F but due to heavy pricing likely and weight issues I decided to stick with the trusty old IS-F so got a 2011 with low Kms. Also considered the AMG 45 but the way the dealer treated me I will not come close to one in a hundred years. Plus it sounds like a moist f...rt. So 2011 IS-F it is.
  2. yep definitely a recall. Again I suggest if ever happens again to save the day pull over as explained above but you should be fine for now.
  3. while the engine running wouldn't it be supplying the charge and probably the car wouldn't start?
  4. Curious to hear what the problem was. The only similar issue I had recently was on a racetrack doing 240km/h and suddenly the RPM would not go over 5000 and surged a little this repeated itself a few times. Lexus engineers could not explain it there was nothing in the computer and was not overheating either fuel was sufficient. What I can suggest is if this ever happens to you again not to panic (easier said then done I know) put the car in neutral so engine braking is not in play put hazards on brake and pull over immediately. If you don't do this and the engine stalls you may lose braking assistance and will be very hard to stop the car.
  5. yep just driven a 2011 and have to agree don't need to touch suspension on these ones, only if they were a little lower...
  6. you mean you want the car without the exhaust or the other way around?
  7. My beloved 2008 graphite IS F needs to go. Reason for sale the business demands a car update: All reasonable offers considered. Car drives faboulus and ride has been updated with KwV3 has Borla catback for the best V8 noise around. Really sad to see it go best car I've ever owned. (note its just one day shy of being a 2009 model) Here it is: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Lexus-IS-F-2008/SSE-AD-2992348 Cheers
  8. ...so the 2011 over the 2010 has updated geometry and better steering feel which I believe translates into better track times and more comfort?? If so the only question remains is the 2011 suspension better then the KW v3? Reason I am asking is if I should still install them on the new car or factory is better this time around? Thanks.
  9. Thanks Danny I am aware of all this:) What I'd like to know is how much of that has been done in the 2010 model and what is only available in the 2011+? Thanks
  10. Congrats. Yeah LSD is my primary reason and also curios to hear about ride quality and gadget enhancements over prev models not that gadgets matter much. I actually prefer the old dash and the old rims which the 2010 still carries over however if the ride is significantly improved that is a good enough reason for me. I also read that steering feel is much improved?
  11. Hello fellow F owners, I am now looking at upgrading my 08 beast to either a 2010 or 2011 model and wondering what the notable differences are. I know they are mostly suspension and steering related but would like to hear it from experienced owners. I was going to get the RC-F but the price tag put me off so will be waiting for the next IS-F for another 2-3 years but meanwhile I am looking to upgrade. I already have KW v3 fitted curious to hear if anyone knows the updated suspension is any better etc... By the way my 08 is up for sale and looking for a newer car. Thanks
  12. Exact same experience here, at first was nice much better than stock but gradually degraded to a level now unbearable. It is at the moment in the workshop hope they can figure it out. When going over cracks and small bumps it feels like I am driving on stone cart wheels.
  13. Actually yes but thinking about fitting them soon if no one needs them PM me if interested.
  14. ...just wondering what sort of lap times you were able to pull there as I found this track is too short and twisty for our cars. Eastern Creek is where they show full potential.
  15. Its not extremely loud but as some bystanders quoted "it shakes the ground" which I want over the boy racer image:) Its much louder in person though.
  16. couple of videos of mine on the track inside and outside. and a comparison: my wife usually starts preparing the dinner table when I am at the end of the street a few hundred meters up from my house so its not quiet either;)
  17. well its plenty loud to wake all the neighbors and it retains/reinforces that nice angry V8 rumble I love it.
  18. well I might need new rears... R888 is semi slick very good tires for road/track use that is the only tire i don't get wheel spin with. http://toyotires.com.au/tyres/motorsport-tyres/item/20-proxes-r888 Read here I think i'll get a set of rears today for the street as well I love em that much. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Toyo/R888.htm
  19. Forget after market than. I have a Borla system I love but it still drones a little. The ones that don't are not cheap. You are welcome to listen to mine if you are around.
  20. I am with Allianz and been happy so far paying $122 a month but might switch to Lexus this time over as I am very satisfied with everything they offer and do they surely deserve our trust and money.
  21. You can't go wrong with them for sure. The only thing I noticed that the rears have lost most of the grip towards the end of their life (approx 30% left) but that's expected.
