Tow Bar?

Am researching a towbar for my 350.

There is an option at Fastfit in Leichhardt (Sydney) for around $750.

Is there any other choices?

Has anyone tried securing a Curt tow hitch from the US on ebay?

im not 100% sure i was reading on the net before the IS chassis is not suitable for a towbar? (heavy duty tow)

There is an approved factory towbar option available from Lexus with a detachable hitch.

It integrates flawlessly with the factory bodywork and wiring and the lighting, flasher and warning circuits operate as well as they left the factory.

It's rated to 1500kg for braked or 560kg unbraked towing.

I've seen their towbars fitted to new Lexus before. Value for money.

I guess like alot of city dwellers, i only really want the tow bar for bike rack and the possible risk of a box trailer for a day here and there. Nothing more.

Fasfit quoted $750 for the tow bar and I have had them do exhaust work on a car previously. Great guys.

What other convenient alternatives work for you?

From my research, other options include roof racks (ugly); strap types (flimsy & paint damage).

I have come from an XT Forester so the convenience options are totally different...

I just had one fitted at fast fit at leichardt , $550 drive away in 2 hours, not a bad job, exhaust vibrates slightly against it when sitting in park with engine running though so check that before you drive off

I own a IS250c 2009 Lexas.

can i put a towbar on  ?

It will only be for a E-Bike only.

I hope you are able to give me an answer.

I have been told by 2 people a will NOT be able to put 1 on.

I am unable to put a boot rack on as it will bend the rubber that seal the boot.

I really do not want to sell it so i can have a E-Bike.

 

Please help me.

I have seen a is250 with a proper tow bar in Moruya, check the USA club lexus forum ISF section about bike hitches .

Yes for both 250 and 350 BUT 350 not recommended due to I believe trailer load may impinge on drive-train reliability.

Saying that I have seen on 350 and they are sold. 

Just contact a tow-bar outlet in your local city for price and availability etc.

pretty sure your going to have problems opening the roof with a tow bar on the back

it uses sensors to detect if its safe to open the boot or not for the roof to go up and down

maybe a tow bar with a detachable attachment?
