I think it may well be the pin on the steering arm...no where near the springs.

Also, how hard will it be to replace the springs, and who would be best to do it?

I'm thinking Front = 0.5", Rear = 1". I want to be conservative cos i'm not the only driver :(I What do u think?

Wheels are 18x8.0 with offset +40 and 225/40 tyres.

  2. Ok so i just got 18s and the car is a Prestige with oem springs.

When i look at the gap, it's not that bad but i want it lowered by a little. Looking for clearance, on the inside front their is a little pin (part of the assembly) that is around 2cm to the rubber. I'm thinking this is not part of the coils so i can safely lower the car by and the rubber won't rub against this pin right?

I'll be putting pedders lows on, anyone know how much lowering this will be?

  3. So... no one likes the X wheels??? Really??? That's what made me even interested in getting the X. It stops the IS looking like a grandpa's car.

It needs 18's - no question. What about aftermarket??? Probably gonna be cheaper and a wider range.

Boils down to individual tastes mate. For me, i feel the X rim with it's 5 spokes is a little "cheap" looking and not quite unique. What is also important is the quality and i feel Lexus wheels are that so yeh...it is only in the eyes of the beholder :)

If the 17s sports lux comes in 18s it would have been easily the best choice for me. Otherwise the ISF's would be awesome.

I have gone to Tempetyres for the RS4 wheel, PCD needs a little drilling but yeh looks alright..just need to find time to get them i suppose.

  4. Wow is that u in the car? nice work man. I follow the V8s since the days of Ambrose. I don't know who will win the title this year but Whincup is well on his way...I'm not a fan of Tander, nor Ford after what they did to team vodafone.

They say Lowndes was supremo during his Holden years, why is he so bad now?

  5. What's the point of racing or even testing, with 50,60km/hr limits everywhere? Even if you win, your smile might will be quickly overwritten by a fine and some points off your license. Not worth it.

I got fined on the way home from the dealership after taking delivery of my IS! Had literally no idea I was speeding, I was too amazed at how silent and smooth the car was compared to the 05 Maxima I traded in.

That's the thing i sometimes don't like about the IS, it's so smooth and quiet that it's deceiving interms of how fast you're going. you look outside and it looks like you're doing 60, when infact you're doing 80....
