  1. I kinda of wondered how they could service the cars wearing nice white shirts and ties... thanks for clearing that up for me...
  2. But where can you go and get your car services where you can stand there looking over the mechanics shoulder? I know for one I would be more paranoid taking it to your local Ultra Tune or whatever than taking it to Lexus. What's the worst that can happen at Lexus, if something is not done correctly you ring them and they fix it and repair everything. You take your car somewhere else and like other people have said, if something is wrong, the mechanic will make up some excuse, offer to fix it but he will probably stuff something else up. In the end you will have no choice but to take it back to Lexus and pay even more to get it fixed.
  3. Cevu is right only the low beams are xenons, the high beams, parking lights and fog lights are all standard lights. The AFS is also only for the low beams, but I don't think it disables when you have the high beams on.
  4. I'll be in a car wash meet, especially a Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning/midday meet...
  5. The GTR and the IS-F like ilv1004s says are in 2 different market segments. If you look at all the comparisons done for the IS-F is is always compared against the M3, the C63 etc. The GTR is clearly a performance car, if you look at all the noises from Nissan, they stated they had the Porsche 911 in their sights as the benchmark for the GTR. I don't really see how you can compare the IS-F to the GTR, one is a fast luxury saloon, the other a performance sports car, plain and simple. Incidently, there is a Top Gear clip on youtube of Jeremy Clarkson driving the GTR in Japan, which is quite funny and damn that car sounds and looks unreal.
  6. My neighbour saw an IS-F on the back of a truck today on Canterbury Road, Petersham, so the dealers are getting their demo models already. And for all those non-believers and skeptics (which included me), he has an IS250 as well so he knows one Lexus from another and he said that although the car was covered, the electric blue colour from all the promotional materials, the large 19in wheels and the quad exhausts were unmistakable.
  7. I agree, the dished look is nice but I feel it cheapens the car somewhat. B are very nice although I don't mind C.
  8. I purchased both my IS200 and now IS250 from Lexus at Parramatta and always taken them back for servicing. I find that they always look after me and are also quite patient with my complaints about noises and the like. They also always give me great loan cars. Like I said in another post last time I had a GS450h for the weekend whilst my car was with them
  9. Yep it lasts a couple of seconds at the most. Always when you first start the car in the morning etc.
  10. Going from the IS250 to the IS-F you actually have to do without a few little things. The cooling option in the front seats is not available in the IS-F. The rear sun shade is also not available. There are a few other minor things my dealer was telling me about but nothing that would make you stay with an IS250 over the IS-F.
  11. Mine was fixed as well. Only took 1 day to get fixed and to top it all of gave me a nice GS450H to drive around in for the day.
  12. IS-F is actually going to be released in November of this year. The whole point of the IS-F looking like an IS250 is because it's built on the same platform. A bit like BMW releasing the M3 after the current model 3 series had been superseeded. It doesn't make sense to release a high performance version of a superseeded car.
  13. I'm skeptical also for the fact thet the IS-F is yet to be released. it seems silly to release th high performance version of the IS and then issue a revised version of the IS making the IS-F an outdated model.
  14. Whatever language that is, I don't like the supposed changes. What is with the wood on the steering wheel? It looks like the RX steering wheel. Also I was speaking to my dealer a few weeks back and they denied there would be any facelift or version 2 of the IS coming out anytime soon so I am a bit skeptical of the brochure.
  15. I am toying with the idea of an IS-F just waiting to see what the price is before deciding.
  16. I'm still not sure if I am going to keep the car much longer so I don't want to spend too much $$ for the time being. Does anyone have the Sports model? I would be curious to know if the suspension is set up any differently in that model.
  17. Art_76, Look, I was reading a post on CL a while ago where a guy had parked his car a mile away from a shops entrance. The reasoning for this was so that no one would open their door into his. (Yeh, we all been there)!! The down side to this was, because there were no other cars around him, his stood out like a sore thumb! Soooo, what did some ##%^# decide to do, key it all the way down the side!! What im trying to get at is, the harder we try to avoid anything happening to our cars, the more likely something is going to happen! I too feel your pain!! Is it fixed?? I assume they did a great job on it. I have to admit I do the same thing too. Always try and park it away from other cars or park next to expensive cars if I can. The car is all fixed and looks like new again. Now just trying to find a way to keep it that way and avoid another trip back to the paint shop.
  18. I have the M4 to deal with and recently a piece of tyre from a truck was flung up by a car in front and put a nice scratch on the front of my car. Went and got a quote to get it fixed and after the $2500 quote came back decided to go through insurance instead. So i feel your pain with the chips and scratches.
  19. The HKS isn't very loud. It's only about 2 or 3 decibels above the stock exhaust which what I wanted in an exhaust. I still wanted it to be quiet around town but a bit louder when you gave it some. Also I liked the way it looked over the stock exhaust. The reason why I got it was because as you said Lexus USA are fitting it as an option. The K & N is just a drop in filter at the moment. Thinking about the F-Sport intake but not quite sure if I want to spend too much more money on the car.
  20. What profile rubber are you riding on? Did you notice an improvement from the OEM 17's that the sports/Luxury comes out with? I know that Tanabe and Tein have coil overs that can utilise an on board damper control. But I guess if you go to that extent, you are serious about the handling more so then just appearances!! Over all though, pricing ain`t that bad if you did decide to go that way! ProjectIS I have the 225/40 fronts and 255/40 rears. Same set up as the Sports. Not really a fan of lowering cars and I like the way the car looks at the moment, just after a bit more firmness, I suppose when you turn in a bit hard so not sure which way to go down with the suspension.
  21. Yes it happens when I drive on Sydney's average (crap) roads. It sounds as though something has come loose inside the mirror housing itself. It's different to the music vibration, mine vibrates and rattles.
  22. Does anyone have a rattling rearview mirror? Mine has started rattling recently and not quite sure why? Anyone else have this problem and had it fixed by their dealer?
