  1. I really feel for you people with crap dealers, all I can say is that thankfully Parramatta Lexus have always been great. My car suffers from a severe case of niggling little shi**y problems, like rattles, door lock mechanisms breaking, the dreaded start up noise and now a seat belt pretensioning alarm which won't switch off but all through these annoyances, the boys at Parramatta have always been more than happy to help. So for me whilst these annoying things continue to happen, I will buy another Lexus and it will take a lot for me to go European in the foreseeable future...
  2. Not yet but I drove one for about 2 hours yesterday in the morning and the seats felt pretty good to me, especially with the tighter sports suspension on the IS-F it still felt comfortable and snug when throwing the car around corners and roundabouts around the Botany area. I was going to post yesterday to find out how you went!! And the verdict is..........................................................????? Will we see a youtube Vid from U soon??? The IS-F is just awesome. The engine and the gearbox are absolutely brilliant. The V8 engine is a beast and pulls in any gear, the gearbox is also something special, the best thing about it is the fact it will switch from auto to semi-auto with a flick of a paddle. Those that have ever tried VW's DSG gearbox will know what I mean. You can be driving along in auto nicely and apart from the deep rumble coming out of the back it is no different to driving an IS250, however as soon as a bit of room opens up ahead, press the left paddle down twice and put your foot down and let it rip. And the noise the engine makes, even my missus was impressed enough to say that she wished our car sounded like that. The ride is noticeably stiffer with the 19's and the tweaked suspension but throw it around corners and you don't notice any bodyroll and the steering is light and precise. Apart from that it is pretty much an IS250, everything else is the same, a bit of carbon fibre on the centre console bit and the doors, all the buttons and switches are the same as the IS250. The only other thing is the brakes which stop on a dime and don't fade even after trashing it around a bit. I loved it and as soon as I get back from our honeymoon I hope to be heading down to Parra with my cash in hand to order one... PS. There was a black on black one already sold at the dealer and it looked amazing. Very discreet for those that don't want to show off until you plant your foot on the accelerator. Thanks mate, Really enjoyed the write up!! What, you think you work for Top Gear now!!!hahahahahahahahahah!!! Seriously though, sounds bloody awesome!!!! Actually I reckon we should apply for a job at Top Gear, for me Top Gear Australia is crap and I haven't watched it since halfway through the first episode. I wish SBS would show the original Top Gear as well. Yeh, couldn't agree with you more!!! Only reason I watched the first episode was to see myself on TV. Have to admit, I did think that it had potential when they were filming but seeing it cut up lost me!! SBS are definately trying to copy the BBC formula too much!! You right, maybe we should take over the gig!! So as for the IS-F, did you have the car un-restricted for the 2hours. ie, no rep with you!! And yes, black on black is more discrete, but there is no hiding that bonnet line / bulg!!! ;) Beeefyy!! No the rep came with us but she was getting upset because I was being too cautious at the start. The bulge is a lot more pronounced on the blue though, the black hides it a little bit. There is a gunmetal grey one which I think looks nice too.

  6. They seemed pretty comfortable to me. Legroom in the back was also improved due to a new backrest.
  7. This is the factory one.... Sorry about the bad photos but all I have.... Thanks for the pics!! I know that your one was oem, what is the quality like. Can U see any waves in the moulding? Quality is excellent. Still looks the same now as it did when I picked up the car. I think if your car is in the sun a lot you might get some waving or warping, but my one rarely sees the sun.
  8. Driving the IS-F on Sunday so I will probably have my car, maybe a kidney or some other bits I might be able to do without, for sale after that. Can you wait until then?
  9. Metallic, I think it has something to to with the VVTI mechanism or something... Don't know what that other noise could be. What I sometimes hear is the cooling fan for the seats, thats about the only other thing I hear apart from the engine.
  10. That sounds like the seat cooling fan you are hearing. The start up noise is a very noticeable tapping sort of sound right at start up and only lasts a few seconds. Usually only during a cold start first thing in the morning etc.
  11. Unless your reverse camera does the corners of the car too, but I like having sensors on the rear corners particularly around tight city parking stations.
  12. Spotted a silver IS250 yesterday getting on the M4 at Westmead in the evening and surprise, surprise, it had roof racks. Only saving grace was that the girl driving it was hot. Also a silver IS250 with the F1 wheels and rear boot spoiler in Marrickville, but wait for it, it had 4 parking sensors on the front but none at the back. Obviously the driver is only bad at parking front on. If the owner belongs to this forum I would love to hear the reasoning behind that.
  13. Try telling that to all the Porsche Touring drivers getting better launches and doing faster lap times out of the new PDK... Porches have their hands full with figuring out how to keep up with the new GTR. BMW in their new M3 have gone back to manual from factory SMG (manual was an option) after public outcry. No one say anything bad about the SMG, just that they all wanted the conventional manual to be standard, rather than optional. I think the IS-F should be manual with auto as optional. Sorry to rain on your parade but new BMW M3 is available in both manual and SMG options. The 6 speed manual is always released first from memory. The SMG was released about 2 months ago so it should be in the showrooms already. Having driven both I would take an SMG over the manual anyday. In regards to the IS-F with a gear change time almost equal to an F1 car why would you need a manual for? If your greatest concern when you're driving an IS-F is what to do with your left arm and leg, I daresay the IS-F may not be the car for you.
  14. I used to get the smell when I used BP Ultimate for a while earlier this year when Shell were out of V-Power. Since going back to V-Power, I haven't noticed the smell.
  15. Very clean Art!! Are you planning to refine the look in anyway, you know, just subtle refinements, or are you holding out untill you get the IS-F?!?!?!? ;) Just fresh from a complimentary detail, always the best kind. Apart from the body kit and exhaust, I don't think there is anything else I would do. Was thinking of getting 19's and lowering it but couldn't be bothered. Happy with the way it looks at the moment. Might get the F-Sport intake but not sure yet. Not sure about the IS-F with the current economic conditions, we'll just have to wait and see what the new year brings. If anyone is serious about getting the IS-F soon though I am more than happy to swap you my place on the waiting list...
  16. Why don't you scout out a demo model or ring interstate dealers. Also I know from experience that they rarely take you seriously if you ring a dealer. Go there in person and see what they will do for you.
  17. I'm sorry but it looks like a girl's car. I don't like it. I think the front doesn't match the back now...
  18. I have always thought of going to Brembo's, depending on the price I would be keen on going in with you for a brake upgrade. Maybe we could score a better price on the parts.
  19. I feel for ya mate!! I would of thought that you would of canned the business trip. Get your priorities straight!!! I went to the first Top Gear Australia filming last week and had a sim situation. I had four tickets and unfortunately a mate couldn't make it. I too thought of you all here. Again, non transferable. The guy from SBS was saying that they had 40 thousand people on the waiting list for the shows taping. Glad I had the Op! Anyone else here go?? Hey, can't we just pull a bit of identity fraud !! Surely it couldn't be that hard to pass as you!! Wakefield here we come!! :) I could go with the identity fraud, pose as me, make the payment on the car for me and I will lend it to you to park in your garage every now and then.... sounds like you're onto something there...
  20. Hey Art, Just out of curiousity, which dealership did you buy your car from? Parramatta.
  21. My new definition of bad luck: Getting invited to an IS-F track day at Wakefield only to find I'm away for business that week. Very dissapointing, even more so, the invite was non-transferrable so unable to hook anyone else here up. Sory guys, I did ask.
