  1. A late response but that might be me, I drive past Pmatta Lexus every am & pm
  2. Hey Ilv, I bought the same tail lights you did from the states and when I fitted them all the system warning lights lit up on my dash and wouldn't go out (SPORTS LUX). The tail light LED's worked perfectly though. I asked LEXUS Pmatta and they said that if the car did not detect the "load" of the lights then it shut down most of the safety systems because it thought the tail lights were out. How did you get yours to work????
  3. Thanks for the legwork finding these, it's hard to find things that make the cars unique.... The chrome one would look amazing!!! Do you think it would be a straight exchange fit?? without any special mods needed. How do you swap the gear Lever head?
  4. I think the Taiwan club logo is great! Is there such a big deal with us using their badge, we could join them??? It would add the Australian Lexus Club to the global Lexus Team, not such a bad place. We could take on a sister club type of thing and swap pics, accessories etc. Their buying power could be harnessed for our needs from time to time. What do you think?? I love the badge, I want one!!
  5. Hey, Where r all the "I've been there and done that" experts?....................... No-one answered my post about short circuiting my car by putting new tail lights on. I bought the love/hate clear LED's and when you plug them in, all the safety systems disengage because the car can't "see" the LED's. Anyone got any ideas??? I really like the clear lenses. (see my last post P5)
  6. NEXT MOD complete. Here are the rear tail lights fitted. I know its going to be love/hate but I think it looks good on the pearl white, not for every colour though. Now I have a small problem. The LED's are not being recognised by the safety systems in the car and all the warning lights are flashing on the dash and all the safety systems are turned off. This is because the car cannot detect the LED's, I think........ anyone got any ideas before I take them off again???
  7. My kit is WALD Executive. It is a japanese kit distibuted from the USA. http://www.jonari.com/brand.php?bid=1&makeid=3 the front of the kit looks good, not feeling the rear though. sorry to say this but that grill is an absolute eyesore to me. don't think it suits the luxury sports look of the car. bit too bling bling for my taste. lights would look awesome on your white car, perfect match. again, don't take offence to my post, it's just my opinion. not trying to bag you out. obviously its something you take pride in so at the end of the day if you're happy with it thats all that counts! oh yeah, have seen you around. was that you this morning on hume why heading towards liverpool? where did you get your body kit from and how much did it set you back?
  8. Hey, now you have to tell us where you got them and the part number/descriptor !! It would be good to have the parkers and headlights at least the same colour. Thanks
  9. Yeah, that's me on the Hume Hwy every morning..... Bugger, now I'm spotted I might have to come to the carwash/BBQ.... Suggestion 3- We could always do a "run" down the coast to a coffee shop !! e.g. Blackbird Cafe at Berrima ?? the front of the kit looks good, not feeling the rear though. sorry to say this but that grill is an absolute eyesore to me. don't think it suits the luxury sports look of the car. bit too bling bling for my taste. lights would look awesome on your white car, perfect match. again, don't take offence to my post, it's just my opinion. not trying to bag you out. obviously its something you take pride in so at the end of the day if you're happy with it thats all that counts! oh yeah, have seen you around. was that you this morning on hume why heading towards liverpool?
  10. To add to the discussion, here r some pics of my IS250 Sport Luxury. So far I have added * WALD ground effects kit all round * Modifed grille as I like the top to match the bottom. * White LED's throughout including puddles * DVD/GPS/phone hack * Rear LED lights are ordered Next is some white wheels when I find some good ones. I haven't added any engine mods yet but I am keen to get a short ram intake. Off to a good start, I hope u all agree ??
  11. There is a Meguiars detailing centre at Seven Hills and Penrith. I have been using the Seven Hills location. Their attention to detail is excellent. They only use the latest hi tech Meguiars products. The Hills Detailing Centre 9620 9110 - Sam
  12. My dealer told me that the blue plates are the old ones. The white scuff plates are on 2008+ models. A little bit of cosmetic year model differentiation
  13. $200.00 They clay sanded the paint, on my new IS250, last week to get rid of industrial fallout, glue, and other airborne gunk that sticks to your paint and then applied several coats of polymer, over a couple of hours. You then use the matching Meguiars car wash to "top up" the polymer coating each wash. Once or twice a year you can have a new coating applied for about $75. I have three cars, all using Meguiars polymer coating, and the most observable difference is that I have no swirl marks from washing the car and a mirror finish. On a navy blue car that is a very important difference. Also, tree sap just wipes off, no marks !!! There are probably other polymer treatments out there but Meguiars is proven to me. I also use their leather conditioner for the car seats and have no crease marks or scratches after three years in the SAAB. NO, I don't work for them, I just love my cars!
  14. Taffyx, I have always had my new cars paint treated by Meguiars. I am using NXT GENERATION TECH WAX 2.0. I have used this on my BMW. SAAB and now on my IS250. It is excellent. Bird crap, tree sap etc just wipes off. I got the local Meguiars shop to put my treatment on but you can do it yourself.. There are many brands of this out there but this is the best one I have used. My three year old midnight blue SAAB still looks like it just came out of the showroom. This is the advertising blurb but I believe it is true from my own experience...... "NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 gives a deep, vibrant colour and a dramatically clear wet-look. Hydrophobic Polymer Technologyâ„¢ provides water beading and protection against oxidation, corrosion, UV rays and surface degradation".
  15. I have a new TREO 750 which pairs with the IS250 and then pairs with my headset when I get out of the car. The pair time is quite quick.
  16. My understanding is a bit different. The prestige, sport and sport luxury are defined models in the red book and attract different values. Your comment would be better placed against Mercedes Benz C Class where the base model is valued in the red book (C200, C280) but not all the extras you have to add. The moonroof ($4500) SatNav($3900), Avante Garde front ($5700) seat memory keyless entry, illuminated scuff plates($1200) and so it goes on. At least the Lexus comes loaded with all the gear at the three stated model levels and is valued as such. Your comment on the value of satnav is also better answered in saying that built in car satnav is good for street navigation but no warnings of speed cameras, red light cameras, school zones, bus lanes etc such as a $500 Garmin Nuvi has. I have satnav in my Lexus but also have hard wired the Garmin under the dash to give me the other warnings. i can take the Garmin out, update it on the net and put it back in the car. The Lexus satnav still is useful for streets, reversing and touch screen management of all the other features. The car would be harder to navigate without it.
  17. I have had exactly the same experience in Parramatta NSW. My preference lent towards Benz C280. I test drove it and when I came to negotiate Benz would not move. Then I asked for a one day loan of the car to take it for a decent cruise to close the deal. NO WAY! I was told. My response was that I don't spend $90k on a five minute spin with a yabbering salesman in my ear. I left them thinking and deliberately walked across the road to Lexus. a bit downmarket in the showroom, no cappucinno on tap, but just as friendly. I went for the short spin and asked for an all day loan, NO WORRIES! I took it for a day and put in an order for a Sport Luxury (Pearl white with light grey interior). I am happy but deep inside I wanted a car that looked like a Benz on the outside and had all the technology of a Lexus on the inside. I am still waiting for delivery end of March. I added a full WALD Executive body kit to lift the agressive stance a bit.
