  1. No worries. Im just waiting to see if a friend comes through for me with V12. Also, I have had other offers from the community! You guys rock!! B)
  2. on second though as tempting as it is i got my finance quote for the is-f. just a tad over 2600 a month based on 160K. think i'll give this one a miss, plus that sort of money gets too close to a nissan gtr! Don't write it off just yet. I would hope the IS F in Aust. would be well below $160k. Also, for as awesome as the new GTR is, it is still only a two seater and is very much a track car. IMO, the IS F is a perfect daily driver, and can roll straight on to the track and perform pretty well. my final opinion would be based upon price. but from the reviews i've read pretty much revieewer says the is-f is too harsh. guess i'll have to wait and see once it lands here in nov. concidentally my 25th birthday is in nov. c'mon guys, chip in and get the b'day boy a pressie he'll never forget, haha....... :-) So we have a young'n amongst us!!! I can remember when I was 25!!! Memories!! Just kidding, I ain't that far off!! I don't think!! Yeh sure!! I tell ya what, I seen some pretty cool models on Ebay!! :D so how old is everyone else in this forum? Considering that I started the "G up", I guess I will start,........... Im 33 this year..! <_< Go on, start the off topic.... you know you want to!!!
  3. can someone please offer their opinion on the following. rear wheel. 18x8! am i better off with a +45 offset or +35 offset. looking for wheel to be flush with guards. got a set of +45's already but haven't put tyres on them yet. they also come in a +35. i know +45 is good for the front but not sure about the back as my current 18x7.5 actually indent quite a bit! granted these are 1/2 inch bigger but don't think that makes that much of a difference. thoughts ppl? +35 or +45? I assume that you have played with the following tools / guides, but I thought I would put the links up as reference for those that haven't. Also I have added this simple explanation that I found posted elsewhere. I thought it was put quite well. The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centreline of the wheel. The offset can be one of three types; Zero Offset The hub mounting surface is even with the centreline of the wheel. Positive The hub mounting surface is toward the front or wheel side of the wheel. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front wheel drive cars and newer rear drive cars. Negative The hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centreline. "Deep dish" wheels are typically a negative offset. If the offset of the wheel is not correct for the car, the handling can be adversely affected. When the width of the wheel changes, the offset also changes numerically. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside. For most cars, this would not work correctly. Offset Calc Tyre size Calc Pretty offset Calc Are your new wheels Full faced or dished cevu?? thanks for your advice. i'll have a look at it. it's just the pdw novas that i posted previously. full faced. knew i could count on you projectis to come through! the last calculator worked it out perfectly. thanks heaps. pm your details and i'll make a back up when i get some time on the weekend. cheers, No worries, I didn't know if you ended up getting the Nova's or if you got something else. You went quiet thats all!! Knowing the fitments for the lexus, what did you work out, was 45 too much with the extra width??

  6. OH NO, Have we lost intensity or what!!! I think we need someone to do something drastic with their ride to spur this forum on!! (I know im guilty of not contributing "mind blowing" stuff)!!!! (Im trying y'all, just need to get my ride to even par with some of you veterans)!!! :D Sorry, should of posted this in the other topic!! I know!! Losing the plot!!
  7. Morning all, I am an aussie based in the US and have just joined this forum. I was looking to see what information on the IS F you guys had, and couldn't find much. I just wanted to make sure you were all aware of the major US Lexus forums which have an enormous amount of IS F information and discussion, with many links to comparison articles with M3 and C63. Check these out: http://www.clublexus.com http://my.is I have driven the IS F many times both on-road and on the track, and it is so far different from the IS250, you wouldn't believe it. This car is amazing! Hope this helps Lexpat99, You are correct in thinking we don't have much info available in Au. Its all speculation at the moment on when we will see the IS-F. Lexus don't have the market share in Australia like the US. As a result, you will see that all our members have utilised forums like "Club Lexus" and "My.IS" at some stage or another as bibles. I guess we have all read about it, we just need to experience it like yourself to see if indeed it will compete with both the C or M class cars!! Off topic, what do you drive?? Are you a member of CL?? Are you involved with sales for LEXUS?? <_<
  8. You beat me to the punch. Im still waiting to source V12. I missed one on Ebay couple of nights ago. Cevu, I might take you up on your earlier offer if it still stands. can I PM u my address details or organise to meet up somewhere>? Keep us posted Raoul & I will do the same!!
  9. Hi Mate, I assume that you have covered off the basics. ie. The language displayed is firmware dependent. Is it apart of the firmware updates that are covered on the NAV DVD, or is it upgraded a different way.(or is it an eprom that needs to be replaced). You would have to assume that it would be a variable. These units are sold around the world and the only diff in manufacture would be firmware. Mate if you haven't researched it yet, I would. Regardless if you source a wrecked Is250, they will charge a premium for the unit!!! Let us all know how you go and if you know something different!! i have a perfectly working one and would consider parting with it if you could offer a reasonable amount for it. the money i get for it would have to be enough for a car audio specialist to frabricate me a custom dash with climate controls working! the rest, (sat nav, audio, reverse camera etc) can be wired into an aftermarket unit. alternatively you can try the above yourself! Cevu, I need an engine, can you help me?!?! Im sure we could strap a baby quad cam 8 into your IS250!!! Just kidding man! I like ya style, absolutely no bounds to when considering the ultimate mod!!! ;) Who da man!!!

(I guess the only thing I didn't consider was the screen printing on the buttons, not sure if that would justify $7K) Let us all know how you go and if you know something different!!
  11. Not sure what you mean?? Have you ejected the original yet?? Actually, let me re ask that. What have you done thus far?? You have finished burning the disk??
  12. I Spoke to a guy that works in my building today. '08 Sports/Luxury.(As you do!) He was telling me that when is car was in for service today he mentioned the odd noise on start up to the service dude. The service guy acknowledged that he knew what the problem was, but down played it by saying that it was extremely rare!! Didn't I give this guy a reality check!! (Thanks all!!!) This is what the forum is all about!! I didn't know about it until you guys mentioned it!!
  13. Mate, Im gonna have to miss the first hook up. The next couple of weeks are going to be hectic for me. If you guys do decide a weekend and a meet time, I will try to atleast come for half an hour or so!! ( Do want to hook up with you all )!!! Can't come for d cruise though!!
  14. Here is the service experience as per ilv1004s!!! "okay this is how it went... Parra Lexus AAAAAA++++++ excellent service.. no bull*BLEEP*.. gave me a rx400h to drive around untill the car was fixed.. overall i cant fault them... even gave me a box of lexus tissues fully detailed my car etc awsome service.."
  15. I've reseeded mine for you. Hope it helps. :P I should of known that all you guys got it from the same place!! Am I the only one that finds and DL's "incomplete and dodgy" stuff from Mininova!! Hence I steer clear from there and stick to my beloved,"reliable" torrent sites!!

  18. FROM A PREVIOUS POPULAR THREAD COMES THIS NEW THREAD WITH ALL THE PICS FROM THE OLD THREAD AND FROM NEW ONES FROM YOU!! please limit your discussions to PM's and leave the space for posting and commenting the awesomeness of others cars.
  19. The image I got comes to about 5.something GB, which means a dual layer. It was a UDF Bridge formatted disc, so there's a 1.2-1.3GB ISO partition at the start of the disc (for compatibility with older Windows) followed by the ~4GB UDF partition that holds most of the data. From memory, the Australian map data files came to over 3GB. That said, I don't know if that's just because of the way the disc image was taken, or if that's the way the retail disc is. When I get home tonight, I'll check my retail v12 and see if it's the same or not. Cool, thanks for letting us know. Still downloading at the moment so can't tell yet, as far as I see it's been rar up to 24 parts approx 58mb each, but having reading what you said, 5.xGB ... tempted to stop downloading. Found the torrent in mininova.org. mininova.........say no more!! I would stop the download, we all know about the integrity of some of the stuff there!!! (Thats what I think anyway!!!) ;)
  20. Noob question, so is that mean I actually have to unscrew the clock facia and put the v14 DVD in? I'm about to download v14 If you follow Blueys pics you will notice that there are no screws, only latchs that get released with the tool supplied. If you have downloaded the complete V14 and burnt it correctly, yes it should work. Should remind you at this stage that you are doing this as a test with the intention to purchase!! ;) (Be carefull what you download, what size is it approx??) the download should be about 1.4GB in a rar format. once unrared it is about 5.1 or so gb and will need to be burnt on a DL-DVD. again, going back to what projectis said. should be used as a test only with the intention to purchase! Damn straight!!! <_<
  21. lexus chatswood have a couple of is250s there with toms wheels on them. didn't see those ones but they can get them. otherwise you can also try http://www.tomstrd.com.au/toms_is.html Well the mob in the states want $1000USD approx each... (More exp then the Works!!) Thats without shipping! It would be quite good if I could source 'em locally!! (Not that Im getting them)!! Have you got another link? This one is dead!! Thanks!!
  22. Well for those that liked wheel ( b ) , thanks to a fellow member, I found em!!! They are called "Tom's Spirit VP-8" and that L-Tuned mob that GSaad had posted carried the fitment for lexus!! 19's all the way!! (again, for those that did like em)! Must admit, they do look better on the car!! ;) And obviously if I did get em, the lexus cap would be going on them!! (Not saying that i am getting em, not saying that im not)!! <_<
  23. Thanks mate, found the wheels that I posted a little while go and I wasn't sure what they were called or what they were for that matter!! ;)
