  1. This is what they mentioned on CL as the updates, but like Art_76, guys are skeptical of changes... Updates for the Lexus IS. Think turn signals in the side mirrors, a new front grille, 17- and 18-inch wheels, and fresh color options, plus Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) in the IS 250. Look for the 2009 IS in dealerships this September."
  2. Korvan, You will have to fly up from Melbourne mate!! Did I say fly, I mean drive up!!! ( and all you other interstaters )!!! Glad to see that your keen Art_76. And cevu, we all knew you be down for what ever!!
  3. Thats it. Being well informed is the key to a successful mod!! You've done well cevu!! Here is the link to that guys car I told ya's about. Now this is serious modding!! Guys $24K mod
  4. Yeh, yeh, I know. What can I say, Im damn fussy!! I look for perfection everytime. Thats what these forums are about! Utilising our experiences & knowledge to ensure that we get the best possible outcome!!!(Most of the time)!!
  5. ilv1004s, Sounds like a great idea!! (Don't think there has ever been a meet!!) correct me if I am wrong!! Not that it matters! Only request though, can we do it closer to summer!!! I have the youngest car from all of us hence not the opportunity to mod like y'all! Let me at least get my 19's!!!!! & maybe some more stuff hopefully! I know that im slow in the mod area, but i am modding wisely!!! I think!! Hey also, just an idea, do you guys want to add what city you are all from in your profiles!! I know few of you!!! Might help with organising a meet!!
  6. Cevu, yes, you have redeemed yourself and have got this thread back on track quite nicely!! Well done with the post by the way! How long have you had your car for! You have done a fair bit to it and I can definately now see that you ain't detered by the warranty issues. Well done mate! Did you get the HIDS from sewells? Always liked the look! Were you happy with the quality of the lights? (I can't believe you modded the ML system. I love the balance from the stock standard setup, how does yours sound now? Obviously thumps with the 12"!) Have you seen the guy on CL thats spending about $26k US on his system! They absolutely guttered the interior to get all the added wiring through! Oh yeh, he was also getting 2 NOS bottles installed! Can't remember if they were 75s!
  7. Sorry - just saw your posts here. Was too much in the zone, dumping my stored hacks onto the board. We can always see how it goes I guess. I have no problems migrating to a branched structure if it looks like it'll get too big. I'd say that your in the zone! Mate, credit to you. Now that's what Im talking about. Contributions like that is what will help make this forum the authority on OUR IS'ssss!!! No worries regarding the structure, see how it goes like you say!
  8. Hey korvan, Great post re. the traction control. Really neat & great format. Do you think we should perhaps have a branched family structure. What I mean, for example post only the overide how to's undo the one topic and pin it. Create the next topic for the next contributed family idea and pin it. Look, I don't even think that I understand what I just wrote. eg. Topic_1 - Overide how-to's. ( all the posts could be similar to the format that you created) Topic_2 - Technical tips ( What ever the members want) Topic_3 - What ever the family contained (again, what ever the members want) So on and so on! Just thinking if we pin each individual doc or contibution, will we have maybe too many and thus not see the new posts that easily? Let us know if I have just confused the crap out of anyone. Apologies in advance!! Mate, just sure the latest contributions from you , thats what I call structured and easy to follow! Screw my idea! (Unless if U think it may work).

  10. DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!!!!! Who dare out post me!!! Seriously though, slipped on the caps lock and didn't notice till i finished the post. Stuffed if I were gonna re-type it!!
  11. Well, I think thats a brilliant idea korvan. Keep them pinned and definately clean for easy reference!! Lets do it! Did you want the honours mate?? Oh yeh, I've done my fair share of searching for info so yeh, I do have some stuff to contribute!!!!
  12. Apparently this one needs to be activated EVERY time you restart the car if you want no traction control. YEH, FROM WHAT I REMEMBERM I THINK THAT U ARE RIGHT. I'VE GOTTA FIND THE POST THAT HAD ALL THESE HACKS. FROM MEMORY, THE ONES THAT I QUICKLY TRIED BACK THEN DIDN'T WORK ON MINE. (DAMN '08 MODELS!!!) I MIGHT HAVE A PLAY AGAIN WITH IT SOON.
  13. HAVE ANY OF YOU DONE THE TRACTION CONTROL ONE?? (Mmmm, NO TRACTION CONTROL)!!!
  14. I have got the '08 build and yes, it does lock @ 15-20kph. Doesn`t unlock though. By that, you can still physically pull the handles to open the doors, but the latch does switch over when placed into park. I physically press the unlock button everytime. If I don't, it kinda feels wrong. Almost like im breaking something, I will investigate this unlocking thing myself and post what I find.
  15. These are the babies, yeh...... Tein CS raceinspired.com What prices have you found in Au? With the 265's @ the rear, what off-set did you go with? Do you reakon you could post a rear view pic of the car?
  16. I am toying with the idea of an IS-F just waiting to see what the price is before deciding. Yeh, have to say me too!!! I would prefer to wait about a year or 2 as I unlike some of you,I have only had the IS for a couple of months. Gotta love the 8 speed though! Rumours from my Lexus sales dude was that it would be around about the $120K - $130K mark!! But what do sales know!! Sorry to all you sales type in our forum!! But hey, CEVU, need I remind you that this is the IS250 thread!! hehehehe!!
  17. Hi all, I will get straight to the point.... kinda!! (AND BE WARNED......., IT MAY GET MUSHEEEYY)!!!! I have only been a registered member here for a little over a week, but I have been monitoring this board for the last couple of months. What I gotta say is, I think that there has been more activity, more genuine interest and knowledge sharing in the last week then I have seen here before! (As cevu mentioned to me, you can guarantee that ya post will have a reply the next time you check) Thats what we need. Not a ghost town!! Prior to this, and I would like to imagine that I wasn`t the only one, I spent 99% of my time on ClubLexus. Why?? Now im here 80% of the time and I want that to grow as all us contribute and make this a true community like CL. Anyway, everytime I log on, I check to see which members are on, and I must say its great to see the regulars on several times a day!!! You all know who yall are!! Props to all of you and a massive welcome to the newbies that were probably just like myself. (Watching, but why be a member of a dead forum) WHAT CAN WE DO TO KEEP THIS COMMUNITY GROWING AND ALL MEMBERS PARTICIPATING????? Come on guys, hope I didn't get musheeeyyyyy just for the hell of it!!
  18. What can I say, looks great!!! 19's as well! Gotta drop though! ;) What impresses me more, Ya future mods. Gotta love the Tein coil overs and the fact that you complete the setup with the damper control!! Brilliant! You have to keep me in the loop with this!! Pleeeeaaaseee!! As many details as possible as far as the suspension goes! ProjectIS
  19. Hey ilv1004, Very nice! Are they the G-max's? You pulled them off great! I initially looked at some close to them, but I think my grey is too dark for em where as your silver sets em off!! ProjectIs Ps. Are they 18's??
  20. Hey Korvan, If the miss'ssssss car has near the same setup, and you not sure, you already have the pictorial on the hack so that you can compare, do you also want the schematics to help you better make a decision? The schematic is PDF doc, colour coded, with pin and plug reference numbers. Also tells you what each wire does so that you can make an educated decision if U not sure! PM me if you want a copy! (if you don't already have it that is!!) ProjectIS
  21. Ahhh, but have you played Metallica's S&M DVD with full surround yet? Simply. Awesome. ;) Look, i`ve tried every which way as well, (ie, different media, burn techniques, keeping all in the root and or folders), with no success! Searched all the other forums, can't see that it can be done due to the fact that it needs to index 4.7gig worth compared to the 700mb. Like Korvan said, I just have 2 or 3 cds with the mp3s in the stack and keep the others reserved for the 5.1 mastered DVD's. You don't need to watch it to appreciate the AWESOME surround sound whilst you drive!!! ;) ProjectIS
  22. Art_76, Look, I was reading a post on CL a while ago where a guy had parked his car a mile away from a shops entrance. The reasoning for this was so that no one would open their door into his. (Yeh, we all been there)!! The down side to this was, because there were no other cars around him, his stood out like a sore thumb! Soooo, what did some ##%^# decide to do, key it all the way down the side!! What im trying to get at is, the harder we try to avoid anything happening to our cars, the more likely something is going to happen! I too feel your pain!! Is it fixed?? I assume they did a great job on it.
  23. What profile rubber are you riding on? Did you notice an improvement from the OEM 17's that the sports/Luxury comes out with? I know that Tanabe and Tein have coil overs that can utilise an on board damper control. But I guess if you go to that extent, you are serious about the handling more so then just appearances!! Over all though, pricing ain`t that bad if you did decide to go that way! ProjectIS I have the 225/40 fronts and 255/40 rears. Same set up as the Sports. Not really a fan of lowering cars and I like the way the car looks at the moment, just after a bit more firmness, I suppose when you turn in a bit hard so not sure which way to go down with the suspension. Well as u know, the ultimate to achieve that is the after market coil overs. I think thats the way im going to head and plus, if you happy with the look at the moment, atleast you can adjust your ride height when ever you want. ((wise investment I say))!! The way they split the F-sport stuff up, ie. Individual items, seems a bit "pricey" .!! Springs, then u gotta get the struts seperate. Don't know.!!
  24. korvan, I agree with you, it is quite a straight forward and safe hack to do! I think that alot of the guys and gals out there, (including myself i might add), are worried if something unrelated goes wrong. ( Hence im working on the reversible / undetectable method ) (HOPEFULLY) In doing the hack for the IS, did you work out your own method by the schematics that landed in the forums, or the procedure that the guys posted on CL?? What System does the wifes RX350 have?? I will try to have a dig around for u!!
  25. Hi cevu, +50 on the rears?? Have you double checked that? What size are you going with?? Just concerned!! Gotta say, bargain alright! They look cool! Do they have their range on display at the Hoxton park place? Did you consider the Brembo idea?? Just Googled the PDW's , not bad!!
