  1. Hey Jomster, I guess the key with any gutter type mark is to take your time!! Like I said in my last post, I went through the grades of "wet & dry" sand paper and U could barely see where I had polished it. If I had followed up with a pumice or a liquid abrasive, guaranteed it would of been virtually perfect!! And yes, it was a deep gutter scrape! Are yours polished aluminum or painted?? Look, I watched the guy and he worked with the same principal but utilised an air grinder/buffer to get it out! Only difference near the end, he clear coated the polished area with an air brush!! If you got the time, give it ago, remember the "wet & dry" and keep it bulk wet and utilise the really fine one if U not sure!! and also go in the direction on the wheel. Finish off with a pumice compound or if U don't have that, "Brasso" will do the trick as it too is mildly abrasive!! No time, or just scared, get the dude out!!! Hope that helps!! Now if they are painted..................well.........!!!!
  2. Driving the IS-F on Sunday so I will probably have my car, maybe a kidney or some other bits I might be able to do without, for sale after that. Can you wait until then? What bits in particular? Go a kidney mate!!! HAHAHA!!! I think Art is joking brother!!! And if he's not, lets not push him out of his 250 before time!!! He will be all alone in the "new" IS-F thread then and we don't want that do we!! <_<
  3. Spotted..................... I think Steven250!! Black, and same wheels as yours!!! Sydney CBD 1600hrs!! <_<
  4. Hey guys, How did y'all attach it? D/s tape?? Can someone post a close up pic of their boot lid with it on??
  5. Driving the IS-F on Sunday so I will probably have my car, maybe a kidney or some other bits I might be able to do without, for sale after that. Can you wait until then? I might be in the same boat if I don't stay strong!! I got the phone call the other day inviteing me to do the same! I must stay strong!! I will be strong!! I think!!!
  6. Hey man, Definately doesn't sound like the noise from the cams, its gotta be like Art mentioned, one of the fans in the cabin. Try isolating the prob. Is the car still stationary? Turn all the fans off and turn them on one at a time. The ISX design inregards to where the external air gets diverted into the car is really good. "Crappier" cars usually don't have a grill on the inlet so debree tends to find its way into the ducts, so I don't think thats the prob. Again, isolate but it doesn't sound like U got anything to worry about!!
  7. Don't know whats going on today, it must be "LEXUS OWNERS DAY"!!I reakon I saw every one of y'all this morning driving in. Atleast 10-15 IS250s and probably everyone from the IS200/300 group as well!! No high beams though!! Whats doin?!?!?!? ;)
  8. Just got my new kit put on last weekend, U like??? <_< Sorry, I thought this topic needed a bit of a bump!! Anyone buying anything from O/S anytime soon or are we waiting for the dollar to improve?? I really would like to get a front lip and perhaps the F-sport intake!!!
  9. Hey guys!! I am posting this on the behalf of MZLEXUS!! I know that it should be in the IS200/300 section, but I thought with all the initial intrigue that y'all would appreciate the fact that now U can put a ride to the name!! I know many of y'all have originally come from an IS200/300 prior to getting the 250, so even more reason to appreciate the nice ride!! I guess maybe y'all wouldn't mind giving some suggestions on what she can do to "enhance" (if at all needed) her ride!! MZLEXUS!!!,........... ;) Very nice!!
  10. It's different but i can't really say it's much better than the above interior. I think my grandma would have liked this interior. Actually, I think she crocheted a nice bedspread in the same patterns once. Your Grandma must be hot :) U guys are a crack!!! :D Sorry Q, bit too light & busy for me!! B) Blinding!! I've never been a fan of light interiors!! Sorry ya'll that have the tan and the light grey interiors.!! I do like the embroided stuff though!!
  11. Yeh, I know!! Thats what I thought!!! I don't know what Victorian roads are like, but Im sure all the Sydney boys would agree that our roads are crap and you would lose the front bumper with in 5 minutes of taking it out of ya drive!! You don't really see the "VIP" style much in Aus!! Yeah you get the "dodgie" ones going around, but not really any with class!! Love to see an IS done!! Any volunteers??? Ilv???
  12. Hey, I've got the alum lip as well and I tell you what, I did experiment with rubbing it back first with some "wet and dry" . If you patient and go through the grades, you will get a good result. You could barely see where I polished it out. I did about 5" worth.......buuutt....... I scratched pretty much half way around the wheel and I thought it was just easier to pay someone to do it!! Plus he clear coated it as well. Like I said, stuff like that eats away @ me so I had to get it fixed or buy new wheels!!
  13. Yeah, same here!! I will keep trying but im thinking now more along the lines of the Lexus logo. I've tried different ways of utilising the outline of the IS, (angles, extra outline like the rear tail light and window outline), just can't get it looking right. Im thinking that the Lexus logo looks smart and is the safe bet! I will keep playng around with it though!
  14. Hey Jomster, Did they have the 250 decked out with the F-sport stuff?? F-sport in Aus The guys on CL are guessing what will happen in Aus due to this article. I would be interested to know what Lexus Aus are thinking considering that we don't have the 350!!
  15. Hahahahaha! I laughed out loud at work...which isn't a good thing! Nice "Chop" (Photochop that is!) Hey Niick, Is this the type of drop U after?? And this ain't a Photochop!! (Could be a full tank though!!!) What ya reckon lol??
  16. springs arrived some time ago but i haven't installed them yet or anything else for the matter. like everyone else the state of the economy has caught up with me so i've slowed down my mods. i do have some mazzuri headers i bought a while back in the country but according to the tracking online they're still at aussie customs. been there since 12th. seems a bit lengthy to me as there it wouldn't be a good item to conceal drugs in! anyhow, they've dynoed these in the states to provide 18KW & 40nM on a stock is250 so i'm very excited to get these installed asap but i think it will be a while before i install them! Label/Receipt Number: CJ17 XXXXXXXXX Detailed Results: Into Foreign Customs, October 12, 2008, 2:19 pm, AUSTRALIA Arrived Abroad, October 12, 2008, 2:19 pm, AUSTRALIA Electronic Shipping Info Received, October 08, 2008 Acceptance, October 08, 2008, 11:33 am, PACOIMA, CA 91331 the wait is killing me! I know that I've asked you before, but I will ask again if thats cool, how much did you get the springs for landed?? (After all the customs / duty stuff)!! Looking forward to seeing the headers on ya ride!!
  17. Not sure if you guys have seen this article....... I must admit, I like the ultra black finish!! B) October 2, 2008 - Just a few weekends ago, the NorCal Lexus community gathered for the record breaking 7th annual EOS (End of Summer) Meet at Lexus of Stevens Creek in San Jose, CA. The meet consisted of the NorCal locals including a large group from Southern California. There were also those that came from the neighboring states of Oregon, Nevada and Arizona! Our friends at Lexus HQ wanted to showcase a few of their goodies including a full packaged IS250 F-Sport 6MT, the SEMA 07 VIP Auto Salon LS460 and an exclusive 2009 Smoky Granite IS F w/the new Terra Cotta trimmed interior. Now what is terra cotta you may ask? For you green thumbs out there, you will be very familiar with this color! According to Webster's Dictionary: Terra Cotta (n) - a glazed or unglazed fired clay used especially for statuettes and vases and architectural purposes (as roofing, facing, and relief ornamentation) ; also : something made of this material a brownish orange For 2009, Lexus is offering a 3rd interior color option for the performance beast, the IS F. Terra Cotta will accompany the all Black w/blue stitching, the Alpine White/Black combo w/blue stitching. Terra Cotta cannot be mistaken with the other 2 IS F colors as it will also have the same contrasting blue stitching on the black surfaces, but have black stitching on the Terra Cotta. You will find this color accenting all 4 seat positions in the center sections including the lower section of the steering wheel. Piano black has made it's way to the center cluster face of the Navigation, HVAC and Radio controls. Chrome accent hugs the nav screen and clock areas. Newly styled center upper vents sit atop the center nav cluster. New revised buttons accompany the sides of the nav screen which give the 09 interior a more luxurious feel. New toggle moonroof controls replace the euro-style circular controls of previous and the power window and lock buttons attain a new look, very to what you see in the 3rd generation GS. The power mirror switch is now illuminated, so you can change mirror positions in the dark without having to squint and turn on a light. Deleted is the chrome accent on the door trim panel hand grab and refinished with a gloss piano black finish. Many have complained in the past that the center console DC plug and Aux in ports were mounted too high for cell phone adapters and pheriperhals. Because of this, it was almost impossible to close the center console armrest when these items were in use. To fix that, designers finally dropped the DC plug and Aux In ports about an inch lower to accomodate the length of the adapter plugs. Now you can charge your phone or Ipod and still make use of the convenient center console armrest.
  18. Well, let me take a stab @ it!! Must admit, does sound a bit odd and I don't remember reading else where that it had been experienced before... The only real thing that could be differentiating between the LEDs and the standard lamps would be resistence. Obviously a filament type globe has a far greater resistence then that of an LED. How bright do the LEDs light up?? Are you sure that there isn't supose to be a resistor inline. Perhaps experiment!! Still don't understand why anything would "dis-engage"!! They are an aftermarket replacement designed for the IS!! Again, I would fool around with resistors so that the LEDS would imitate a standard globe!! I hope the logic in my stab makes sense!!
  19. Hey akuma, Not sure myself at the moment, you would have to assume in the pilar, but I will look into it and let you know. Have you tried changing the microphone gain level in the diagnostic mode??( Headlight procedure). That should do the trick!! I have actually turned my one down because I had complaints about echoing. Seemed to do the trick!! Nope haven't tried the diagnostic mode at all, where abouts do i need to go once i'm in? Will give it a go tonight and let you know how it goes Look, once your in, you can't miss it. The diag is split into two sections. 1 being sensor (observation) the other being intrusive. From memory, it comes under the bluetooth label!! Check it out, they are labeled really well!! ;)

  21. Well thats what I thought!! and they now look practically new!!! I haven't had a chance to do a top speed run as yet... Where abouts...?Local??? I will need to do a trip soon I think!!! Are we still on for the cruise guys.??? Summer is approaching!!! ( But me ride hasn't got its drop yet)!!! Anyone made a decision on springs yet?? HMmmmm??
  22. Tell ya what, definately agree with it being a shocking sound.I was not happy to put it nicely!! Unfortunately, when I heard the sound, I was at the point of no return. Damage was done and dusted. Even though the wheels are a temporary thing, I am a perfectionist and it ate away at me everytime I looked at it!! Anyway, the mobile repair dude came today and polished out the gutter "GRIND"!!! He clear coated it when he had finished...He charged $150.00 for the wheel. I was that impressed, I got him to remove the gutter mark from the front that QQQ had done!! $80.00 for that one. So for $230.00, my wheels are near perfect. Im all good again!!! Guys, I definately recommend the work if anyone needs to get theirs repaired. PM me if ya want his details!! ;)
  23. Be good brother!! (S#%t Stirrer)!!! <_< Roof Racks............. What tha ......!! Hey, atleast its not just a Sydney thing now if the racks have been spotted in Vic aswell!! I bet the car that was spotted in Sydney was on holidays from Vic!!
  24. in agreeance with projectis. i've just got headrests with lcd monitors for entertainment. the dtv option seemed more trouble than it was worth! but if you are keen to do it you can find the info on one of the us forums. it's been talked about over there and discussed in some detail! http://www.xtenza.eu/video.html I use this to install a DVB-T tuner in my RX400h (produced 11.2006 w/ mark levinson audio and DVD changer). Tv tuner and internal dvdch can be watchen on nav display while driving. Hi Vesko, Thanks for the post! Did you say that you installed this with the ML unit?? Must admit, haven't really looked into this option because I don't really like plugging in foreign device mods into existing equipment unless I know exactly what it is doing to acheive the result. Hence why I prefer the manual hardwire mod. Never the less, this may be a good option for the members that want a quick and easy route to acheive the desired result. Back to my original question about you installing this on an ML sys, the backplane pictured looks completely different to our ML's. Are the pin outs the same?? Hi, what is a ML unit? Mark Levinson (ML) ;)
