  1. Nice work mate!!! The wheels look great!!! (Can't wait to see how the drop sets it off). Wish ya could crank the contrast up a bit on the pic so I could see the rubber from the drive!! I imagine that the width looks mean!!
  2. Hi Melbbg, You should be able to get the Prestige with enhancement pack for quite a bit cheaper then you have been quoted. A few things to consider that should aid your cause are - If you can wait a little bit, try to buy the car just before the end of the Japanese Fiscal year. You will find that most of the Lexus dealerships will be looking at achieving sales targets through numbers, not on actual sales profit. You should find that you will have the upper hand then in the negotiation process. (End of March) Another thing to consider is if you are with a corporate that is registered to a National fleet discount, Toyota / Lexus are a big supporter of this and you will make extra savings with on roads and servicing. Look, I won't say how much you should pick one up for, but again, I think the price you got thus far has got a fair bit of room to move. Hope this helps!!! ;)
  3. hhmmm..... not much to see on mine but i'll post anyway! The wheels look good Cevu!! The clearance @ the front does look small.....How odd.....and I knew that U didn't drop it!! By how much has your ride dia changed since the 16s?? Any idea? Ps. Thanks for posting the first pic!!!
  4. Question A - yes Question B - yes Question C - yes And no to question D. Like Niick mentioned, you are best checking a car out in person before you buy. Why don't you go and have a look at a pre-loved one for sale! All the small things that you asked about are quite easy to find on the net. Before I bought my car, I spent countless hours on dealer sites, review sites and oh yes, the forums!! As for the last question (D) that you got wrong, , U have both rev and speed alerts. Both are visual. You will actually find a post about them on this forum. Check posts from about 2 months ago!! Good to see you here and hope you get the car. As Niick said, you will love it!!! And if you get the Prestige, you have to get the ML/SatNav setup!! Main reason to consider the Sports is for the 18's and different ride setup...... Do ya research!!! ;) One more thing, you need to prefer the Alcantara seats over the leather as found in both the Prestige and Sports Luxury!
  5. Hey alexus, My suggestion is decide want you want. There are 3 options open to U........ 1. Conservative (near factory feel) 2. Less conservative (looking awesome but less of a comfortable ride) 3. Balistic (Look awesome , but feel everything) Here is a pic of a ride that I really like but with 20's. Personally, I will be going for the same look but will stick to 19's. I don't want to comprimise my ride that much and trust me, with 20's, you will. "> IMO, stick to 19's. As for the drop, and im sure the boys will agree, you need to go with the coilovers. You definately need the freedom to adjust if you decide to go with 20's. You not leaving much clearance. Also 235' too narrow @ the back. (U can get ya off-set to fill the guards, but still, go wider) Anyway, hope I made sense and Im sure the rest of the guys will give you their feedback aswell!!! ;)
  6. Well, thats the message that I was trying to get across without being as straight to the point as U Art! Hence my Saab comment!! ;) Well done mate!
  7. Hey Niick, I've always liked the look. Just gotta look into how well it fills the light assy. U can always tell when its a dodgie install. Tell me more about what you thinking. thanks mate!
  8. Well, initial thoughts, its lost the sleek, sharp lines that gives the 'IS' that sporty, look. You take the coupe proto, now thats got a nice line.. or you look @ the 3 series convert, thats still got a sporty / mean look. This has the Saab, bubble look! Sorry, needs to grow on me im afraid! Bring a sleek coupe on, im there! ( im using a pda @ the moment, so i might amend my comment when i have a better look on a Monitor)!
  9. Hey guys, Noticed a few of you have done the HID conversion, and LED interior and parkers, what other lighting mods have u done. Found this mob on CL and thought some of their stuff for the IS looks pretty cool! (Don't know if they are cheap 'n nasties, but hey, what can go wrong with LEDS)!!! Anyone done the Halos?? Lighting Joint 1 "
  10. Hey Niick, Im definately down with the group buy for springs!! What did you have in mind?? I thought your car was already lowered!! (and drastically at that!) Unfortunately not! I was very close to buying some from the states but changed my mind last minute and lost interest. I want to get them again though! Only thing is i want a decent drop and the lowest i can go with springs is 1.5" from factory. So i might just cut the factory springs... JOKING! My options would be to get a set compressed, be happy with a 1.5" drop or fork out for some coilovers. Any thoughts? Hey Niick, Why do you say that you can only go the 1.5" ? How high are you now?? If you want the 1.X" drop, sounds like the Eibachs are the ones to go with? I think both QQQ and Ilv's went with them and achieved that type of drop! Im looking for about the same as well!
  11. Very nice. I like the deep dish with that style. What size rubber is it??? Have you thought about a drop??
  12. Come on all!! Where are all you regulars that haven't voted yet?? And you all know who you are!! <_< And all you guests that are looking @ this post , register and share ya knowledge!!!
  13. I had mine lowered 2 weeks ago. They used King springs, however I am not sure on the model?????? BTW they have complemented my Tempe Tyres rims beautifully. I still need to get the wheel alignment done. I will post some picks as soon as I get my car cleaned. Hi Stetch03, If im not mistaken, I think that you are the first to post about the Kings. How are you finding the ride? What type of drop are we looking @??
  14. Hey guys, No need to worry about the car wash for this photoshoot!! Take a pic with ya phone.......No one will judge how clean your car is in this topic!! We will admire the ride though!! (No excuses guys)!!! A quick side note, can I suggest that those that aren't registered with a photo hosting mob, do so!!! Makes posting and displaying a pic heaps easier!!! Just a suggestion!!! ProjectIS ;)
  15. Hey guys, Agree 100% with Korvan. I think that we all understand the general concept of being involved with a forum. For those that haven't noticed, I am now one of the Moderators of this forum so PM me if you have any requests, problems or Questions and I will do my best to help!!.(& yes, I am obviously a local, so this can only be a good thing). I will pin a quick ref to the basic guidelines of this forum shortly!! ProjectIS ;)
  16. Hey Niick, Have you washed ya car yet?? We want to see the pics?? I would like to see how the 275s look from a road shot up!!
  17. Hey lex666, How did you go with the wheels?? Did you get the caps?? Im trying to source Rx350 caps for my A/Ms. They are still the 2.5" cap but more of an aluminum style. You might want to consider them if you want to be slightly different!! (Might look good, might look "not so good"), just an idea if you cant get the Sports/luxury caps!!!
  18. Hi ldc, I think basically from what I can gather, you are a bit hesitant to drop!! Why don't you source the wheels first, (which yes, is the golden rule before dropping), and see what you think! OR... wait to see what we think!! You know that we will all give our opinions on how ya ride looks!! Go from there!! IMO, you will need a drop regardless if you go with the 18s or 19s!! Obviously, the more you move away from a standard look, the more you will need to do the drop!! As for rubbing, I got none with the 18s, and I doubt that I will even after the drop thanks to QQQ conservative initial purchase!! Not to say that I won't with my next purchase though!! ;)
  19. Korvan, U crack me up!!! Well.......... I might Pm you with a comeback because I don't want the others hear me say that ya probably right!! It is AFL after all!! Oooopppppssssss!!!! Just kidding, don't mind AFL occasionally!!! Anyway, enough with that, lets get back to business!!! <_< Where you other guys from???
  20. I don't think you have a worry at all if you are only going to do a 1" drop. If you are concerned, get the F-sports because they will eventually drop to an inch. They are pretty conservative from what i have read. But like I said, I could comfortably drop an inch and a half with no issues. u will find that your ride diameter will probably only change about 15mm from your 16s. That obviously only taking about 7mm from your clearance. If you go 19s, maybe a little bit more. You will still find that you are sitting too high in my opinion. As for the width, 235s at the front would be safe without rolling, but I guess the boys like QQQ and Niick would be the best to answer that as they have the 19's on theirs. If you stay to the safe / factory offset, you should be safe. (as Niick mentioned, easily fixed on the front)! If you stay conservative at the rears with both your width and off-set, you should not have to roll the guards. I would prefer not to roll the guards!! ;)
  21. Hey Niick, Thats my understanding aswell! You just need to hijack the video input. The reason I haven't really thought twice about it is that prior to this, I had an analogue setup and reception, or rather lack off was a pain. Yes, with dtv you either have it or you don't, imo, I can see it being a pain in Aus! Not to say that it won't improve!
  22. I like the idea too!! Thats why im keen on the stickers!! I can see the high beams getting a workout!! ;)
  23. Hi ldc, I've currently got 18s on mine, and yes, I do feel that it needs to be lowered. Especially if your wheels don't have an "oem" type look, it needs the drop to make it look complete. The larger you go, the more that the car looks like a boat with out the drop!! I would have to say, my guard is about 2" approx above the rubber. Too high in my opinion.
