  1. its a phat car, but yeah I thought it was a bit of a laugh!!!!! more like 165kw, maybe pushing 170kw if he was extremly lucky, but a 3inch exhaust would not work on an altezza as far as I know ( well it would work, but no power increase from standard etc)

    :o

  2. I've found it pretty sweet although one time me and a mat were cruisng to Auckland and while passing through Huntly doing 50 km/h behind a truck doing 50 km/h a high way patrol car going the other way flashed me, and I could never understand why, I had my fog lights on but they were sweet so it was a mistery to me!!!!!!

maybe you have the curse now!!!!

  3. http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/listing...ion-8523321.htm

just found this a very nice altezza indeed.

but I find it hard to beleive that it has 180kw and especially a 3.5 inch exhaust which would possibly make it slower by the laws or mechanics and combustion flow from a 2 litre.

Sorry to offend anyone (especially if he owner browses these web pages) as it is a nice car anyways and I would buy it if looking for a black alezza but listing incorrect facts and figures are always gonna incur questions!!!

If by any chance im wrong, I will tell myself off

    cheers...........

  4. I was gonna show some new photos but cant upload any photos so thats a bummer!!

P.S I used to have a problem with mazda familiar rear lights and i think the intially drilled a whole in it and drained it, but this is irelevant to your problem "Jase"

The best bet is probably just the sun drying them out and then maybe siliconin as "greeneyes"has said.

    good luck with them man!!!!

  5. yo can some one please tell me what up witht the gallery I tryed to add photos and I can't log in, so tryed the add photo option and was alright, uploaded photos, then at end said it cant do it!!!!!

  6. nah, I should clarify what I did, mine was on the outside, although you could try your approach or even take the headlight out, put it in the hot water cuboard or something and then maybe plastic weld the seal again or glue the seal in that palce if it could be done cleanly.

But yeah my problem was on the other side of the headlight and i was the cause :( !!!

See if any other guys here have any solutions!!

    cheers........Hayden

  7. I have water drops inside of my front head light.. >:--O

    DSC02348.JPG

Does that mean it has a crack somewhere?  How can i get rid of the moisture?

Should I buy a new set of lights (those smoked ones :-- P) or fix it somehow?

    It looks really ugly!!

Yes they are cracked and you are not going to get a warrant with it, my one has cracks too and Lexus order a set for me under the warrantty, Hayden (4ROLLN) has been in the same case a few weeks back and he got a set of black housing headlights through me, you can also get the clear housing too.

    Matt :D

haha, no I didnt even have a crack in mine, but make sure when you clean the lights you use the correct stuff, <_< I tried to clean the drivers side light and ended up scratching it badly so I was up for some new ones!!!

  8. Ok so i was going to change the radiator hose on my altezza to a steel one pulled half of it off, the engine side and about 1 litre of coolant came out which i caught with a icecream container right! so anyways i put the pipe back on, car had flat battery so jump started it, let it warm up, then when putting it back in shed i reved it about 3000 - 4000 and could hear water quite loud flowing, sounded like in dash which is impossible, so turned it off, then had to put it back in shed so turned it on and drove it into shed.

After thinking about it I came to 2 conclusions:

    1. Must be the water filling the pipes up again and recurculating!

    2. By taking hte pipe off air got into the pipes.

Well I hope its just 1. but it shore makes a funny sound!!!!

    ideas guys?

  9. yeah i was exactly the same as you as I had previously owned a 1997 evo 4 running 15-16 psi, i was intially disappointed with the altezza untill one after noon me and a mate went out for a spin on some long straights and after redlining it through every gear, we both were shocked to just how damn quick it was!!!!!

I myself find it pretty slow around town as you cant really rev it out, and the real power is in the 5500 - 7500 rev zone and particularly the 7000 rpm zone. So my advice to you is that they are a nice car to drive around but you need to drive it on the open road to find out what everybody is talking about.

In general I would say an altezza's place is on the open road, not around town and as most people drive it around town, people dont understand why they are so highly talked about for their power.

  10. Ok , well is it just me or is there no information available on the members, well anyways I was thinking there should be semi-detailed members profiles, ie detailing peopels age, city, sex, ocupation, and other any other infroamtion so at least we know something about each member!!!

    What does everyone else think?

  11. Also , on vehicles like these you can spend a s**t load of money before getting any substantial gains, therefore you have to know when to say when, e.g getting some modifications can cost alot and not really acheive much, as most of our cars here don't have turbo's.

As I said before, a s-afc will only be 100% effective with full exhaust, airfilter and correct set up, apart from that it wont be of much use although its better to have one than not have one I guess!!!

    cheers........Hayden

  12. As far as the S-afc goes, basically what people have said is that if you have a full exhaust system (extractors, centre pipe and rear muffler) and a aftermarket air filter, an s-afc can be used to help re-set the fuel/air ratio or whatever to make best use of your inlet and outlet modifications and thus gain a few extra horsepower.

As far as tuning goes, I'm not sure how worth it, it would be unless your racing etc but it is important that the s-afc has been sert up appropriately for your vehicle in th efirst place (eg just installing it may not make a difference without the correct settings). It should be noticably effective without dyno tuning if set up correctly, but you can never rule out a few extra horspower etc from dynotuning!!!

    my 2 cents.........Hayden :D

  13. Just bought my first Altezza, a 1999 AS200 at auction last Fri. Actually bought for my wife to be (getting married this Sat). Real simple question to start with, do we use 91 or 96 petrol. Also we don't have alloy wheels. How do we go about finding a nice set of alloys preferably in the ChCh region.

Hay man, welcome aboard and congrad's on the wedding for this saturday!!!

  14. Nice car "Altezza Girl"
It's great to be first (or one of the first) girl members of the club.

Surely there are more of us out there, cos they are such a great car!!!!

Yes I hope there are more altezza girls out there!!! for the clubs sake for anyways :rolleyes:

    cheers.....

    Hayden

lolz...Hayden keep it down before we freek her out...

    Matt :D

hey Matt, I was!!!!! lolz........:lol::lol:

  15. Sorry to hear about the CD players guys, I actually had no problems with mine for the time I had it and thought that the sound quality etc was awesome but since I had a couple of $ worth of stereo from my last car I ended up chucking it in etc.........

It sounds like most people just get new head units but if you can minimise the problem then why not keep it!!!!
