  1. Prestige model from the first series also has cooled seats, not just Sports Luxury.
  2. Tiguan would be a crappy family car. Try to fit a stroller (let alone two) in the back, and you'll see what I mean. Just get an RX350 and be done with it! :)
  3. Yeah, check the obvious things first. Also, and I don't mean to be a Captain Obvious, but did you make sure your car was out in the open, and you gave it a few moments for the gps to try to acquire the satellites first? When my ECU was stuffed, it still picked up one or two. I also had the GPS icon in the corner, do you have one? If you got none, sounds like it's more of an antenna/connection problem, which is probably a much cheaper fix, you'd hope so anyway...
  4. Are you driving in a new area? Version 12 is the original dvd the car came with in 2006, perhaps the road you are on didn't exist back then. Alternatively check diagnostics if it receives GPS signal. There's a secret service menu you can enter into: http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8150 Choose navigation diagnostics, and it will list all satellites the car can 'see'. If it sees none, or only one or two, then something is wrong. My 06 Prestige had a similar problem about two years ago where it was showing the car was elsewhere. The dealer replaced the satnav ECU. Don't know how much it cost as it was done under warranty. Firstly try to manually get it into right location and see if it gets lost again. If you go into settings (look somewhere in the menus) there is an option to do that. Once you do it, see if it gets lost again.
  5. lol @ prestige series 1. DANSLEX i know where your coming from with the FART cannon. Its really not lexus. Im now running takeda intake, invidia midpipes, and GReddy axle back so its nearly a full exhaust. its nice and quite and discreet unless you give it a boot full and it erupts into a slow sweet sounding v8. I know the 250 has limited power but to be honest. its enough to be having fun with. I actually stopped tooling around for a while and gave the fuel economy a chance to have a say and its actually running 2litre/100km better then the restricted stock setup. and on free way 3litre/100km better. so not only is it better sounding no drone and marginally more powerfull but also more economical.(as long as you dont roar it around) lol. k2sty1. save your money and do it properly its much more rewarding. it already sounds nice with the intake. give it some sussy or tints. keep it tasteful and sty1ish as possible. its a lexus not a VE SV6 "commy" anyways thts my 2c for this week lol. Proper quality exhaust setup will always sound decent, as opposed to a simple hack job of taking the muffler out and that's it. Proper upgraded exhaust note would have already had been designed from the start to sound good etc, whereas the design of stock exhaust's note would not have factored in someone just cutting out the muffler... most cars I've seen people do that to have sounded *BLEEP*. Do it once, do it properly haha. Hence my reference to tasteful mods.
  6. RX350 is quite fast in straight line when you compare it to the IS250, if not even faster. Feels faster anyway...
  7. I'm not referring to the way it looks, more to the way it sounds. All I'm saying is, no point having a very loud exhaust on your IS250, let alone one that drones. Sure, a more pleasant exhaust note is welcome, just as long as it's not on the same level as a riced up Lancer with a fart cannon and altezzas. ;) P.S. And I think the crappiest looking part on the 250s are the series 1 Prestige rims haha
  8. IS300 turbo sounds great! I had plans for my old IS300 to turbo it. I didn't get around to it though (I previously sank a bit of $$$ into the soarer and the missus wasn't happy). You'll probably be better off sourcing a Supra/Aristo halfcut as the 2JZ-GTE out of those has better compression etc. (among other things) so you can run more boost, than the 2JZ-GE out of IS300. That's if you want a lot of power. Might as well use the gearbox as well, not sure how much power the stock IS300 box can handle...
  9. This really doesn't suit the car. It's not a fast car, so why do it? I always laugh at people who do that to their Hondas and Hyundais, doing that to a Lexus should be outlawed! What are you trying to achieve with this? Are you trying to give people the false perception that it is a fast car? I rememeber back when I had my modded twin turbo soarer many years ago, I loved showing these people otherwise. All show no go = rice! Problem is, all that extra noise actually makes it sound like sh|t. In my opinion anyway. Please don't do it. Do some tasteful mods, (some mild performance mods, brakes, suspension, full length exhaust with a better note etc; not many options for the engine though I know), rather than making it look like it's driven by another clueless riceboy clown. No offense :)
  10. Cheers! :) Yeah WA, Wilkinsons Suspension, all up including installation and wheel alignment it cost me $2,270. I don't know how much they retail for exactly, but they said they had the Teins on special as it would have normally cost over 3K fitted, whether it's true or not, no idea... Don't know if F sports will give you same sort of drop, probably not, and can't adjust them can you? Go for quality aftermarket ones if you can hey. I was looking at Tanabe ones as well, before I got the Teins.
  11. Guys, you can definately format a large hard drive in FAT32 format, there are ways to do it. You're certainly not limited to 32 gigs only. Plenty of info on the net if you google for it. Here's one: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/formatting-external-hard-drive-to-fat-32/
  12. Hi, I always buy 98 RON. I haven't used 95 RON so can't compare, but my city fuel economy is usually about 8.8-9.2 l/100 (I do have a heavy foot though). I have used both the vortex and ultimate. I have noticed I get a few more kays out of ultimate for some reason. I normally refuel when almost completely empty, and I fill up all the way, with ultimate I get an extra 30+ kays out of a tank. Can't comment about how clean it is, or how it protects an engine, I'm just gonna take their marketing word for it haha.
  13. Hi guys, I had my Tein Comfort Sport coilovers fitted last week. Dropped the car about 30 mils. I can still drop her a little bit, but in a couple of months time perhaps. At least she looks decent now, no 4wd spec anymore. MASSIVE improvement in terms of handling. I have it set on the hardest damper setting, and it ain't too bad in terms of comfort either, at least for short city drives, haven't been on long ones yet, but I suspect it will be ok as well. A lot less body roll, but I think strut braces will complement it nicely too, so I will be looking into those shortly. Here you go: P.S. No, I didn't plant those skids marks haha
  14. I just placed an order for a set of Tein Comfort Sport coilovers, can't wait to get them fitted :) Will post up pics once done.
  15. ^^ I like the matt black coloured roof. When I was in Vienna last year, I saw a IS220d all painted in matt black (obviously aftermarket paint job). Wish I took a picture, looked hot!
  16. dump a 2jz into my is250? where did u get this idea from? why would i dump it in there when i got a perfectly good engine to work with.. here's a hint: research b4 u talk.. theres already a few 2jz is250s in aus Can't do much with the IS250 engine unfortunately, there, I done your research for you. Forced induction won't work too well due to already high engine compresson. And air intake mods and filters have been done to death. What else are you gonna do with it? Are you gonna do silly ricey mods or something tasteful with a purpose? P.S. With your responses, you come across as quite a hostile keyboard warrior mate. Settle down! hmm force induction!!!! I miss it :( loved the sudden turbo kick in my Soarer :) Hopefully IS350 next year will fill in the gap ;)

  18. Far from unique, but I guess it's a 'slow' start. You'd need a lot more than subtle cosmetic light changes to make it unique. What is your planned end result? Things like rims, suspension, any engine mods? Here's a hint: dump a supra turbo 2J in one, guaranteed uniqueness, at least in Aus :)
  19. Stick to the basics of negotiating for a better price. The good old tricks like making an offer at the end of the month etc should get you the lower price.
  20. I get it mainly when the engine has been off for a few hours, and I reverse out of a bay, then put it into drive and want to go forward, it may hesitate sometimes and seem like it will stall. It has actually stalled two or three times when the engine was cold. Thankfully it rarely happens, once a month I can deal with it so no worries.
  21. Sport doesn't get any wood, has the same silver/grey panel as the Prestige.
  22. You wanna swap the Sports Luxury wood for the Prestige silver?? You wouldn't happen to be in WA would you, I'd swap with ya for sure!
  23. Mine does it occasionally too. I spoke with one of the guys at Lexus of Perth, and he said it is a common issue. Lexus has actually tried to fix it for years, drove around with IT equipment plugged in for a long time to see what casues it, no idea. Apparently it is an electronics/software issue, nothing mechanical. He said it does not casue any damage to the engine, just that can be annoying sometimes.
