Well, I have finally got off my lazy ass and upgraded my rims. :) I guess it's a matter of personal choice, but I absolutely love dish. Gotta have it! I think these ones suit the car well. Rims are Koya Inox R1. 19", staggered 8.5" wide at the front, 9.5" wide at the rear. Wears 265 rubber in the rear, and 235 in the front. Next step would be to get the car lowered, looks a bit ridiculous the way it is now, but one step at a time haha. Will get around to that in the next couple of weeks. First gotta sort out a small issue, the front rims rub a litle bit when turning... Here are some pics, just after I had them installed. Nothing fancy, will do nice pics once she's lowered though hehe. Rear: Front: What do you think? :)

It's that time of the year again, and I've been seeing ads on TV. I've been toying with the idea of upgrading my 06 model to a brand new one. The ads are saying factory has slashed the prices. I'm just curious, how much of a discount can you expect to get from these sales normally?? I am planning to call them soon to find out. Knowing life, they probably won't give me the best possible price on the first go. I guess I just want to get a realistic expectation of how much they'd be able to reduce the prices by. I've never bought a brand new car before, let alone at one of those end of year sales. I'm curious to hear from anyone on here who has. Planning to get a prestige auto with the EMV and sunroof (website says $71,371 rrp drive away); or if I can stretch the budget, F sport with sunroof. Cheers! Dan

From redbook Valuation Prices * Private Price Guide $49,900 - $54,500 * Trade In Price Guide $43,000 - $47,600 * Average Km 20,000 - 35,000 Price Guide $79,000* Price Guide That's what redbook says, but then I'm looking on carsales and can't find those prices, not in wa at least... Eastern states cars are cheaper for some reason.

Oh yeah?? Do tell!! Many years ago I was playing with the idea of chucking the 4L V8 out of LS400 into an IS200. The engine itself was quite cheap, about a grand, plus other bits and bobs of course. Somehow I gave up on the idea when I realised I was better off chucking a turbo on the 2J in my IS300 (which didn't end up happening either haha).

Well USB plug is now standard. I believe that our Nav systems will be moving away from DVD to hard drive system. Hopefully some of that memory will be usable. Also Bluetooth streaming should be not too far away. I'm suprised why we can't play music though bluetooth in the IS250 yet. A2DP protocol has been around in phones for many many years now, you can buy bluetooth headphones and stream music to them etc. You'd think they'd forget about messy cables and just upgrade their bluetooth in the EMV. Having said that, iPod/iPhone doesn't have A2DP (unless it has been put in recently). Still, many phones have had it for years. Ah well. Good thing about A2DP is that you can also skip tracks, play/pause, ffw/rew, and get track listings etc remotely on the screen etc. which is essentially what this integration kit does, except wirelessly. You'd think that would be a smarter way to go about it. Come on Lexus!

Hmmm, would have to go through the service history coz can't remember if plugs were changed. It's got 66K kays on the clock, due for a service in about 4K kays. I wouldn't want to sound like a know it all either, but often those techs overlook the basics. My uncle took his 5 series bmw once to get a problem fixed. Can't remember what it did exactly, but they even flew in people from germany to take a look and couldn't figure out, they were examining the ecu and so on. Then an apprentice simply changed the coilpacks and it was fine. So yeah, maybe it is something simple they are overlooking. I just want to gauge how common it is among you guys, as apparently most IS250's suffer this problem, according to the dealer. Only that it is so rare you only notice it after a while. Had the car for over a year and it only came to my serious attention a couple of months ago. Sometimes nothing happens for two weeks, I also do a lot of kays too (over 25K per year)... I might set my display to show gears and see where it's at when it happens. I don't think it's gears though, the car is stopped.
