  1. On mine, press and hold the unlock button would opens all windows and moonroof. It's done this way to allow hot air to escape on a hot day before you get in the car. To use the power tailgate, you can either use the remote or the tailgate button located next to the rear mirror buttons in the dash.
  2. Hi Jim, Welcome to the club!. From my experience, Lexus claimed figure is quite accurate. On a recent day trip of 300km of mostly highway roads, I reset the trip counter before departing and at the of day, my figure was showing 7.8L. Around the burbs, I'm averaging between 8-8.5L. I use mostly of the time Premium 98.
  3. You beat me to it!. I haven't fallen in love with the 2010 look but this mid-life refresh is giving me the itch... Check out the 2 photos from one of the poster below. http://forums.motortrend.com/70/9090480/the-general-forum/2013-lexus-rx-facelift-gets-spindle-grille-and-new/page2.html
  4. Hi Digger, Take a look on the RX330/350 forum as a number of RX owners have asked similar Q. If you happy with the OE tyre, why not stick with it? I have a 2008 RX400h. I replaced mine with a set of Bridgestone Dueler HP (High Performance) Sport. Have done 8000km so far and I'm very happy with it. All major brands like Michelin, Hancook, Kumho, Toyo, Yokohama have a tyre for the RX so it really comes down to how much you want to spend and most importantly (for me anyway), which is the best tyre for your bucks.
  5. I highly recommend the Dueler HP Sport if it's within your budget. I paid $315/each.
  6. Saw a black colour SC430 parked on Russell St in Melbourne CBD around 1pm today with wheel clamped and large yellow Sheriff sticker labelled on the windscreen as well as on the driver's side window. Sad sight!. Hope it doesn't belong to anyone on here. I do wonder how the sheriff tracked you down or is it simply a random spot check to see if the rego owner has any unpaid fines.
  7. This is a bit much don't you think?? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Victorian-number-plates-1-LFA-suited-Lexus-LFA-/270807074059?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f0d5c050b
  8. From what I've read, a number of reviews are saying the Kumhos can get a bit noisy but they are good value (<$300). My tip is to take a look at the Toyo Versado as this is a brand new tyre from Toyo (made in Japan) and released on the Australian market this year. The price I got quoted was $375/each, which is still considerably cheaper than the premium tyres from Michelins/Bridgestones. Now that I've experienced the Dueler High Performance (HP) Sport , I would not hesitate in recommending them. The grip is exceptional, and much better than my Bridgestone OE set. At the end of the day, the decision comes down to your budget but do shop around. Under $300 - Kumho, Hancook, Maxxis Between $300-$400 - Yoko, Toyo Over $400 - Michelin/Bridgestone
  9. Where did you get those, Lexo? I was just quoted $640 at Tyrepower! :o Hey Poisson, I got them from my local Donnellans tyre shop in Victoria and I couldn't believe that their price were almost 50% less than all the other tyre stores quoted me. I asked them to show me the tyres and yep they are fair dinkum "Bridgestone Duelers HP Sports" on the sidewalls. I've done 2500kms on them now and I highly recommend them :D.
  10. The Yoko Geolander GO51 is OE on Mitsubishi Outlander and from what I've read, many Outlander owners are not very happy with it. 3 weeks ago, I purchased a set of Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport in 235/55R18 for my RX and paid $315/each fitted and balanced and they are fantastic in terms of ride/handling/noise. This tyre is OE on the BMW X5.
  11. I would think your car is still under warranty so it is best to get it done through a Lexus dealer. You can have it serviced at a Toyota dealer but this means you may void your warranty should any mechanical issues arise. http://www.lexusofblackburn.com.au/service/fixed-price-servicing/ Personally, I used to take mine to Lexus of Melbourne but have since switched to Lexus of Blackburn because they are not only cheaper but offers a far better serviced.
  12. I believe this is a personalised setting so you need to go to your dealer. Refers below. http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/RX350_LPS.pdf
  13. I'm sure dislexsic's original post was with good intents to spice up the forum. I remember over a year ago when I was lurking around in the background for info before I bought my Lexus, there was hardly any activities on here. I recalled the most active forum was more to do with the upcoming Formula1 races than Lexus itself..LOLS. This place has certainly come alive now with new IS/CT owners.
  14. I finally got to the bottom of the squeaking sound in mine. It turns out the sound was a combination of the rubber seal (which is now lubricated) in the tailgate and the cargo blind, so even after the rubber seal was lubricated, the squeaking can still be heard as I left the dealership. To my surprise, it stopped when I had the blind extended out before leaving work on Monday and voila..no squeakings!!!. Just shows it takes a bit of detective work on both parties.
  15. If you take a look at the CT200h, you can clearly see the shape of the top and bottom air intake combined is very similar to the one on the GS concept. I just don't think it'll be anything like the Audi though. I am very much looking forward to see what the new IS/GS will be like and what tech advancement Lexus is coming out.
  16. http://www.caradvice.com.au/114824/lexus-lf-gh-concept-revealed-ahead-of-new-york/lexus-lf-gh-concept-12/ The shape of things to come from L.
  17. Just received my car registration renewal notice and I hadn't noticed until now that hybrid/electric vehicles entitle to a $100 registration discount!!. Isn't that great!!
  18. Does anyone agreed with the reviewer that the Lexus dash/centre console looks dated compare to the BMW/Volvo?
  19. Speaking of rattles/squeaks, I get this squeaking sound coming from the left rear of my RXh and I haven't been able to trace where it is coming from, and since the interior is well insulated, this squeaking is starting to annoy me coz I don't always have music/radio on. I was at my lexus dealership yesterday to change my unlock sequence to single-stage and got the tech to look at it. After a short drive around the block, he said the noise was caused by the rubber seal in the rear hatch so he lubricated the seals on all doors as well as the centre armrest but the noise is still there.
  20. Congrats!!.... Hope you enjoy hybriding as much as I love doing...
  21. My advice is to drive both and see which one you like most. Mechanically, the 400 is a different beast to the 350. Whether it is going to cost less in the longer time is anyone's guess but as far as fuel consumption goes, I'm averaging 8.2L/100km compared to 12L-14L for the 350. The 400 has taught me to be a better driver. In the 400, you learnt to be more gentle with the throttle input and looking at the energy monitor. It's actually quite fun because the computer tells you if the car is running purely on battery, or dual power, or when the rear battery drives the rear wheels. Good luck!.
  22. Hi Mate, • Can the two set of key be programmed to seat positions that are pre-programmed? Sometimes refereed to as "His & Hers keys". No. • Can the headlights stay on for 30 seconds after the car has been turned off? Known as courtesy light. No. • To turn off car beeps, two stage unlocking etc.. do I have to go to a Lexus dealer for this? And will they charge me a set fee? Car beeps as in seatbelt warnings? If Yes, it's DYI. Do a search in this forum for the DIY instructions. two stage unlocking - your Lexus dealer can change this to single-stage unlocking free of charge if the vehicle is still under warranty or a service charge if it is outside warranty period.
  23. Prius uses electronic CVT transmission which behaves differently to conventional transmission.
