Street racing? Not exactly a good thing to post up on a public forum. And with a 0-100km of about 8 seconds, give or take, whats the point. Its not a performance car. I cringed on the weekend when I was watching http://www.bullrun.com/seasonII on Foxtel Fuel TV and there was an IS250 AWD entered against a Ferrari 360, Supercharged Porsche Carrera, Mits Evo just to name a few. It got embarrassed. And worse its was piloted by two bimbos, but like the IS250 they're great to look at.

eheheheheheh maybe your cousin should learn how to use his Lexus sat nav because you can program camera warnings into the factory system. When your Mum buys you a car, and you're allowed out on the road on your own, we'll show you how to do it & you can show your cousin. No not illegal. Now to answer the question before someone asks it: Why is it on a Navman for $150 but not in a Lexus/BMW/Audi etc? Its to do with corporate morality by the car companies. If they have it programmed into their cars it is seen as promoting unsafe driving. Just the reason the factory nav system has a disclaimer when you start the car about driving safe etc. Can you imagine Today Tonight or A Current Affair if some P plater killed someone in his Mum's Lexus & it was proven that the factory system encouraged speeding by warning when to do 160km & when to slow back to 60km. As if to promote it. The speed cameras are actually in the nav data just not utilised by the system, so I'm told. Its pretty easy to program camera warnings into the system if you really want them and works really well. Plus you only have to program it once, well worth the time IMO. The RTA even supply a list of their locations http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/roadsafety/speedandspeedcameras/fixeddigitalspeedcameras/fixedspeedcameralocations/

The two cars I mentioned the Golf GTi & the Golf R....both turbos. I never mentioned the R32. R32 is the old model... Golf R replaced it. Here is a story on the new model from September last year http://www.carsguide.com.au/site/news-and-reviews/car-news/volkswagen_golf_r_to_follow_gti The R has 15kw & 30Nm more than the R32 it replaces. It is also a full second quicker 0-100k. For those not on P's. As for this whole thread.....0-100km times are partially irrelevant when you aren't allowed to drive faster than 80kmh on L's & 90kmh on a P1 licence.

The part in bold, apart from being superfluous to the rest of the statement, sounds like you're REALLY DEFINATELY trying to get us to believe you. Not saying I don't, I actually do. However there will be more to the price than just discount, something like the scenario explained below perhaps. So RRP on an IS250 Sports Lux is $84,914. A 28% discount will leave you with a balance of $61,138.08 Now without a trade in....that is not possible as a straight out cash price. You'll get that level of discount when the following happens :D With a trade in then things are different. It is financially beneficial to write the price of both the new car and the trade down from what they really are. For example: An $80,000 IS250 with a trade in worth $30,000 is a $50,000 balance. However if you write the trade in at only $20,000($10k less than its real value) and drop the new car by the same $10,000 then the balance should still be $50,000 right? Wrong... It will be less than $47,000. Because you're paying Luxury Car Tax(33%) on $70k instead $80k. 33% of $10,000 the tax department now doesn't get. If you write your $30k trade even lower at $10k($20k below value) then the new car also drops $20k plus the nearly $7,000 tax saved. So your $80,000 new car now appears on the invoice at $53,000 .which is a price that could never be achieved without the write down on the trade in. When doing this though you are at risk of falling foul with the Tax Office. Congratulations on the new Lexus Michael and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. If you're in Sydney hopefully we'll see you at the cruise that ilv1004s is organising. We think it is happening this month...hopefully.

If its the sound of the pads gripping on the disks as they grab or release then yes its common. On other cars too. Its only that the car is so quiet that the sound is more noticeable. Asbestos free high performance brake pads are noisier but work great. The other trade off is they don't last as long but again they work great.

OK a little more info on the new Lexus model to hit. It will be officially uncovered at the Geneva Motorshow, tonight our time. It will hit the road in Europe in November & Australia will get it in Feb 2011. It will have two modes of drive. One for traffic & efficiency the other increases power & changes steering feel to bring out a sportier drive. Still being front wheel drive I am yet to be convinced on this car.

I hope you don't mind me asking but can you explain the "VIP" part of your listing? Is it just the grill? Is that all? Good luck with the sale....
