  1. Wouldn't be OK'd by Lexus if that were the case. Gotta remember that overseas they are using E85(85% ethanol) we are only using E10(10% ethanol). All cars in the V8 supercars run on E85.
  2. According to the Lexus website: IS-F CCS (Circuit Club Sports) http://www.lexus.com.au/news/2010/11997914/LEXUS-IS-F-CCS-CONCEPT-REVEALED-AT-TOKYO-AUTO-SALON/ All I could find for ISF-CC is http://www.isfcc.org/ That aint it :D :D

  4. Interesting bit of info loosely related to topic: Last night I was watching the NRL Rugby league game between the Brisbane Broncos & Canberra Raiders and who was in the Canberra coaches box??? Mark Webber thats who! At half time he was down on the sideline cheering the players as thay came off and then in the coaches box again at fulltime high fiving everyone when Canberra won their first game of the year. Why was he there? Mark Webber was a ball boy for the team when he was a youngster.
  5. Gee, if only there was someone that was replacing their 2.5 V6 with a 3.5 V6? Now where would you find someone doing that???? ilv1004s...know anyone doing that??
  6. E10 is 94-95 octane so the difference is negligible. People will bang on about using 98 octane, when in truth driving in a metro/suburban area, at no more than 60kmh in traffic, you are just wasting your money. Besides the 10% ethanol actually cleanes your engine.
  7. The season will be a two horse race between Alonso & Vettel. I like them both so am happy to see either win it. I think there will be several interesting battles further down the field though. Lewis will beat Jenson in the battle of McLaren. I hope Schumi beats Rosberg in the battle of Benz. Do you think Michael win a race this year? I do but not til later in the season.
  8. Well after Bahrain McLaren had been instructed by the FIA to change the rear of their car around the difuser. The hole that the engine starter goes through was made much bigger than neccessary & in turn added another level to the difuser. One week to Melbourne :D :) :D
  9. I agree and good on you for fitting it yourself. It looks great. I'd love to go with you to a Lexus dealer and get your car valued as a trade in and see if they picked it as aftermarket. Some would mistake it for factory. Any non-lexus dealer would definitely make that mistake. Have you got the rev camera as well?
  10. No no thats a photo of a GS450h from OS. I included it to show what a V8 Supercar GS460 may look like. We were using a standard GS460 at Eastern Creek...no where near as flash as the car in the photo. I agree with what you said about Fords treatment of 888 racing (Vodafone) and hope Whincup wraps it up again. Lowndes just having a bad run of luck ATM I think.

  13. Well done ProjectIS. Great thread. Love F1.... Hate the no re-fuel rule. Love that Schuey is back (tho not a Schu fan) Hate Lewis Hamilton Love that the next race is in OZ. As Murray Walker would say GO GO GO.
  14. Yep big fan too. I'm a motorsport tragic though. V8's, F1, MotoGP, WSBK are the 4 series that I watch every single race. Lately been watching a bit of NASCAR & Indy car too. For me I'd love to see a V8 Supercar version of the GS460. Especially after doing laps of Eastern Creek in a GS460. Both with me at the wheel & then in the passengers seat with John Bowe at the wheel. That car is quicker/better than I thought. I've got a photo of the speedo at 210km as we went down the main straight. This won't happen with the GS460 though as the new shape GS series will be out next October and there won't be a GS460. The most likely entrant would be a Toyota Camry/Aurion as they have been pushing this idea around at Toyota head office for a while. Who do you think will win the V8 title this year?
  15. There's a 2008 with 8,000km on carsales ATM for $110,000. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=8342702&__sid=1262CCC2126C&__Qpb=true&Cr=2&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_PriceSort_Decimal%7c1%7c%7cpCar_Make_String%7c0%7c%7cpCar_Model_String%7c0&keywords=&__N=1216%201247%201282%201252%204294965468%204294793141&seot=1&__Nne=15&trecs=3&silo=1011 Gotta remember to add RTA transfer fee & stamp duty on that would be $4,627. For me, while I wouldn't pay $136k, I'd prefer to pay a bit extra(you may be suprised how little if you ask the right person) and get a new 2010 with the Torsion LSD(I've tried both & it makes a difference), Update SatNav interface, USB input and most of all full 4 year warranty. Worth every cent.
  16. Full RRP is $136k???? including on road 3 yrs free service: This could be part of the corporate program.....I'm guessing you possibly work for one of the BRW's top 500 companies?
  17. I'd say that at the 45k service is most common for city driving. The worst I've heard is just after 30k. The best I've heard was a guy that got just over 70k not just from the brakes but also first set of tires. All freeway driving. So 50k & 60k you're both doing well.
  18. Might want to point out to them that the IS350 is only made & sold RWD....world wide. Its the IS250 that is made RWD & AWD. On a weird/useless fact note: Did you know that you can buy a brand new IS300??? You can in the Philippines.....as they don't have IS250/350, they have a current shape IS300? Weird huh.
