^Cheers. I was thinking a bit more along the lines of wiring issues etc. Potentially more complex since the 350's came after some updates. The drop out & in is the "easy" part. Making everything work like factory is the harder part. Is the fuel pump different? Do you know if the 250 AT is the same as the 350AT? I assume the diff is not the same. Manboy, I'd be tempted to potentially do such a conversion oneday too as earlier model higher mileage IS250's aren't worth a huge amount. If you have the ability & resources to do the conversion & you get the necessary front cut/hardware for around $10k, the maths work out. Especially if you've already invested in the body. You can probably buy 2 x older IS250's for the price of an IS350 at the current market prices.

I doubt you'll have insurance issues as long as you notify them. My IS250 has Tein S-techs which are noticeably stiffer, but liveable (with 19's). If you're still under new car warranty, past experience is they wouldn't void it (unless any problem that arises is directly related to the modification).

I swear by Castrol Edge. Taken apart previous Toyota motors (not Lexus IS related) & the bearings, internals etc have always been cared for. I have a few cars (Legnum, FD3S, built 300+rwkw MR2 turbo, IS250) so just keep a spare batch of Edge 10/60 which I use for all. Some people are scared of the thickness, but I've had no issues.

Those things happen anywhere. Sales guys are trying to close & move on to the next as soon as possible. They should've checked.. I have friends that waited months for a new bmw etc only to find out the multi million dollar dealership made a silly mistake & ordered the wrong interior. On a side note, I'm a bit peeved with Chatswood Lexus now too. They told my Dad his IS350 needed a wheel alignment @ his first 10k service recently, when it was fine & as it was the day he got it. Now it's off centre & crabbing. Basically paid to fix what ain't broke & made it a problem. Complained & yes they'll pick up the car & sort it, but that's still poor form.

I know they burn oil naturally like all other Toyota engines but that is a bit fast. Did you recheck it after a start when you did the oil change? I wouldn't panic though. Try refilling with a thicker oil like Edge 10w/60. I use that stuff religiously with my IS250, 350rwkw MR2 turbo & mild port single turbo FD RX7. All of those engines naturally burn oil, but I check/top up if required every month & they all run like clockwork. Just part of being a responsible owner

Sold already? If not, where in Western Sydney are you? It's nearly Xmas so think I'll treat myself

I have a resonator delete & intake. The exhaust isn't loud at all & just has that little something extra under load. Compliments the intake sound. If you want something you'll notice all the time, I'd get an axle back exhaust. In my case, I'm happy with it. Sounds stock/quiet commuting around with a nice sound from the outside under load. Don't go off the vids on youtube etc, it's an inaccurate gauge since they're free revving to redline from idle/standstill.

Hard to tell from vids, but hows this sound compared to stock? Noticeably louder? Read lotsa conflicting reports online.
