  1. BLKISF - where'd you get the gearshift - one the fence as to whether it's a little chinzy...but the blue would bring out the blue stitching on by black interior / flame blue car and when I showed the wife she love it. Can you lock it on one colour?
  2. Nice one. I'm not mechanic - but as I will be keeping my car after it comes off lease I appreciated the solid engineering and reliability of Lexus...and Lexus service standards are second to none.
  3. Nice car - if you're ever crusing around Canberra I'd love to hear what the exhaust is like in the cabin, I'm thinking about the X-force cutback system, but wife doesn't want any resonance/boom in the car on trips. (I know it's not x-force on your car - just not seen many modded ISF in Canberra)
  4. Not sure why US should be a significant difference, assuming US owner seek out their equivalent premium fuel which is AKI 93 (anti knock index). US 91=95 RON, US 93= 98 RON.
  5. Black diffuser looks the goods on a white IS F - nice!
  6. Yeah - Canberra distributor told me few weeks ago ETA is 2-3 months advised me ring back at end of May. Dammit there was set on eBay not long ago, not sure if they actually had stock but presumably they did cos the listing has gone.
  7. I don't even hear much going wrong with 20yo+ LS400's let alone late model 5L Lexus drive-train. I read that Toyotas in general are under stressed in respect of duty cycles and loads on components - fuel injectors, pumps etc. compared to some other brands. Hence why old Toyotas around the world keep on trucking. Lexus no doubt take that to another level to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  8. Yes the change-over occurred late in the year in October- so for example a 2011 build complianced from 10/11 could be an MY12. However you may notice some later models cars with older wheels as Lexus offered a no-cost option at least initially to choose the older wheels. MY12 has Sachs-equipped suspension (softer shocks for ride comfort, but firmer spring rates which improves on major suspension retune from the MY11), 0.5" wider fr new BBS alloys. It might be hard to spot an 2011 MY12 build if it has been specified with the older wheels...but you're after the new wheels anyway. Get them on a car...Lexus will sell you a set..but the cost exceeds $30k!
  9. Thanks for offer - got an all-Japanese car day display in Canberra tomorrow morning otherwise I might gone for ride or drive - hehe if you got nothing planned head on down south. For me interesting to see the old school cars as I have project datto that needs my motivation to finish. don't think they have website, being organised on FB under "All Japanese Car and Bike Show 2016"
  10. ok got it - back on the x-force bandwagon - these guys in Canberra ignoring the del of 2nd cats and centre muffler, guess they got more markup with custom pipe work, and other mufflers mark-up instead of $180 install only cost for the x-force with little markup...business decision on their behalf can't blame them but I customer not really get straight-up advice ;-(
  11. ok, perhaps I need to clarify couple things, looking at second pic in the following link: http://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php?topic=73325.0 working back to front: pair mufflers, single cylindrical muffler, pair secondary cats then primary small cats in front of flanges i.e which don't get replaced with x-force i.e. where x-force bolts to? If x-force really frees up by replacing the those Y-secondary cats & the cylindrical muffler plus rears - then yes I see the value. Both exhausts shops where asking me "why x-force, including one who is listed as distributor" they were selling on doing better quality mufflers at rear, but only axle-back.
  12. Was thinking of just getting pair of magna-flo mufflers at the rear instead of x-force system for ~ $550. I'm just after exhaust note - is the middle hotdog or whatever it is much of a restriction compared to x-force x-pipe? Exhaust place says restriction is primarily the factory mufflers/ Why do I need to purchase the whole x-force cat-back system vs just getting rears done? Imagine they sell them because that is the next bolt-on section for DIY and non welder/flange install.
  13. Nicely done with the overlays, have to look into that. Last year I did 1:15.09 in my first outing in the IS F. Lexus IS F Wakefield park track day Although it hailed later in the day the wet track was fun too. Lexus IS F Wakefield park track day wet
  14. This is the second time I've seen cooling fan mentioned in these forums, but I'm curious as the only mention of IS F related recalls on the government website is for fuel pressure sensor gasket affecting 2005-2010 models. http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/952857 I have received no correspondence from Lexus for any recalls for MY12.
  15. IS250 owner at my wife's work was asking her about our ISF soon after we got it - she sorta played it down just saying it was an "IS F" and he's like 'yeah, but is it 250 or 350' when she drove it to work one day another colleague of the IS250 owner put it eloquently when he said along the line of "mate, it's an IS 500!"
  16. yeah these keen buyers not helping my depreciating asset lol oh welcome to the club
  17. Appreciate the uploads Peter - pretty good sound for camera think it give me a good idea.
  18. Vaku - really keen on the X-force myself - was looking at Varex but speaking to fitter he wanted to do it properly and wire inside the car not just to the accessory (cigarette lighter) as XF advise - I really don't want the wiring harness or any other part of the car disturbed/hacked around with - so pretty much decided on the non-varex.
  19. Very interested to listen to a video of the X-force - I am looking at the Varex muffler version. While I appreciate comments about spoiling a luxury car with a cheap exhaust I'm not convinced extra $$ always buys a superior product. I am also just plainly not allowed or willing to spend many 000's on an exhaust A local dealer/tune informed me that only a very low volume (12) of the IS F Varex ver were initially made to test market and fitment - next batch ETA into Australia in Feb. Mark
  20. NSW, Southcoast - drive for lunch to Bateman's Bay from Canberra.
  21. god dammit...of course knowing the cost of these wheels and how much I love the MY12 BBS wheels I am uber careful...but kissed the gutter entering multilevel carpark few weekends ago while going to see MI: Rogue Nation. Downer on my outing, after the movie wife remarks 'you really didn't enjoy that did you?' Good movie...but I was so dirty at doing what I have never done even back when I drove bombs with $200 set of mags. Pretty light rash in the scheme of things, Craig from Wicked Wheels in Queanbeyan (he does a work for dealers incl Lexus Canberra) reckons I won't see the repair.....'but I'll know'
