  1. Cheers mate. Few more things to do and ill be contempt. Got the exhaust and wheels which was a must for me. Want headers but cant justify the price lol. Even a diffuser seems very excessive but ah well. Yeah i was considering the wider option but was put off from some opinions from the US ISF forums so played it safe. Its a daily ride for me and would cringe at the idea of an excessive bumpy ride
  2. I was considering the wider options and read many different views from the guys in the states but with mixed opinions. Some said they liked it, some said they regretted it etc so like you, i thought it would be harsh and too low a profile so played it safe. Used to have a wrx, very low profile etc and hated the bumpy ride so was fearing a similar ride. Ah well, theres always next time. Doubt the tyres will last years lol
  3. Had to get new tyres so figured best time to get new wheels too lol. Yeah i know any excuse but it works for me :-) Alot of the guys in the states swear by Michelin super sports so went with those and always loved the black on black look so went that way with red/orange calipers painted too. Had to given these wheels show off the calipers more. Also got a new gear knob, purely bling but it glows on touch. Each to their own but i like it :-) Loving the Apexi throttle controller too. Great factory finish with it replacing one of the blank buttons
  4. Noticed first link i put up expired. Heres a few more designs on Ebay. At approx $16 AU each i wouldnt expect much but some did say Citzen movement. Ltuned, that watch actually looks good, for sure better quality Ps Im sure the Ebay ones would add a few kw's if worn haha
  5. Bored and stumbled upon this Ebay - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-ITEM-2008-Lexus-ISF-Limited-Edition-Steering-Wheel-Accessories-Sport-Watch-/262424631153?hash=item3d19ba1771:g:lJoAAOSwwbdWNCXK Guaranteed atleast 10kw at the wheels lol. Ps Cant vouch for the quality and if its upto the Toyota/Lexus quality weve come to know but it looks cool :-)
  6. I was thinking the same. Dont get me wrong, bang for your bucks, a supercharger would add great power and its running low boost too so huge potential but it looks very aftermarket. Ive seen other supercharger setups like Harrop etc on other engines and it looks very factory/neater if that makes sense.
  7. Yeah i read that topic too. About time :-) Most other V8's have that great supercharger wine like HSV's etc or turbo's. It will be the easiest way for big gains. Just hope the rest of the engine and driveline can handle the extra power without too much fuss
  8. Great vid. Good to see you getting the most out of the car. Actually surprised how well the GTS handles given its also RWD but such a bigger and heavy car. I thought he may have tried to reel you in on that last straight with that straight line grunt lol
  9. So far about 15kms down, so hoping i have more luck and pass 40-80 without an issue. So am i safe to assume that as i have an aftermarket cat back system, that a OEM AF sensor will continue to give me problems as it detects i have a high flow cat. Would the sensor need some kind of resistor to fool it / bypass so the sensor thinks the more stock cat convertor is still there???
  10. FYI if anyone is interested. A US study has ranked Lexus as the highest for vehicle dependability for the 5th consecutive year in a row http://www.jdpower.com/press-releases/2016-us-vehicle-dependability-study-vds
  11. After my initial Xforce issues, its been going great as of late. No more fuse issues etc and the Xforce Varex is running great. I was waiting from around late last yr and was given many ETA's but then their head office contacted me as i was on the wait list. Apparently the IS350 and ISF systems are very similar (cant remember the exact differences) but i was given an option. I went to their head office and they made some slight modificaitons to the IS350 system so it would suit my car without any compromise on performance etc. They advised it would sound a bit better/louder but all i can say is once fitted, it sounds great. No dyno numbers to prove anything but it definitely feels more free flowing to me etc and i was charged as per their website price. Interestingly enough it was tested at 91db which took me by surprise because it definitely sounds louder than that vs being on near legal If you are not sydney based, perhaps your nearest stockists could do a similar thing.
  12. Thanks LTuned, was planning to take it to Lexus to scan and reveal whats wrong Thanks MR2QIK, i didnt get a chance to search for reset instructions just yet but a US forum suggested disconnecting the battery first so i gave that a go. 30 mins later i reconnected it, started the car and it was gone and i could also choose 1st gear. Im yet to drive it but atleast i know its something minor now. Just hoping it was one of those things where it doesnt come back vs coming back in a day or so
  13. Agree. Problem is wrong time to have a car issue, most workshops closed early or away for long Anzac weekend in Sydney. Lexus not open till Tuesday then ill have to book it in so they prob wont see it until mid-end next week. Just hope its a sensor or something minor. Confident its not a gearbox / transmission issue as most of my driving is work and back in traffic. I dont drive it nearly as hard as im sure other owners get the chance too lol. One forum suggested disconnect the battery but i dont think its that simple given i cant get first gear. Ohters even suggest o2 exhaust sensor but i got that over a month ago.
  14. Now just discovered the car wont engage 1st gear. I get the beeps when trying to get into 1st gear. This is even from a standstill. It starts off in 2nd gear. Manual F mode or auto, it wont go into 1st gear :-(
  15. Hi all, Today all of a sudden whilst driving i get an error warning in my dash (Check VSC). Prior to that it was routine driving, didnt lose traction, hit anything etc. Ive searched without success here and via google many are pointing at a fuel cap which i wouldnt have guessed. Ive gone through the manual without luck and get the warning light to go away. Its been a few hours now. Any ideas or has anyone successfully got rid of the same message before, thanks. Ps Car does appear to drive fine though Car is a 2008 ISF
  16. Im sure the 2010 model onwards has it, not the 08 and 09. Id love to get the LSD too but for the money i spent on my 08 6 months ago, ive already seen 2010 models with similar kms going for what i paid for my 08 which was a decent rrice at the time. Headers though, now thats a different story, just a shame they're so pricey
  17. Cheers for the link. So its about 1.6k for the headers, about 1k to fit and the remaining 1k which equates to 3.6k is for shipping etc? Pity a local exhaust shop hasnt put in the R&D to produce some headers (not a common car unlike the states so its understandable a workshop wouldnt waste their time). I remember back in the day ordering a high quality s/steel headers from the states for my WRX. Price, shipping, and fitted locally all for around 1k. I had my hopes up the price would be closer to that vs 3.6k lol. Ah well, many here are saying it gives more gains the exhaust itself. If true, guess ill have to get a set eventually :-)
  18. Damn, i was hoping it would cost less than the exhaust not near double. Are there any good local headers or exhaust shops that sell them or would they be more show than go vs proven PPE?
  19. Do you mind telling where you got the PPE headers from. Sorry didnt mean to hijack the tune thread but i noticed someone asked as well. Recall reading Chatswood Lexus or maybe i have that mixed up with the exhaust. Curious who can bring it in and price???
  20. Just an FYI. I went to the Xforce head office after work to try to resolve my recent ongoing issues with fuses and other electrical aspects of the exhaust. Whilst annoying i will give credit in that i was never made to feel like a nuisance, over complaining etc. They never strayed away from their responsibilities in trying to resolve this for me. They assured me this is not the norm and quite uncommon (perhaps sales talk, id doubt they would openly admit to others having the same issue). I guess if they sold only 100 varex's with a 1% fault rate, 1 out of 100 doesnt seem too bad. 10 out of 1000, is that bad etc. I know the day i got it installed, their phones didnt stop ringing and trucks was turning up all day carrying palettes away of exhausts so im sure they sell alot (perhaps normal, maybe some varex's who knows). After some checking, they realised it wasnt a fuse this time and no power was reaching the module. They agreed to remove the entire wiring harness and module so basically only the physical exhaust itself remained. About 40 mins later, all new wiring, module, connectors, remotes etc. It powered up and he showed me a small section of the wiring that got a kink (assuming during the first install) that left some bare wires exposed and he said it was causing it to earth or something to that effect hence the constant fuses that kept blowing. Anyway he was more particular this time and ensured there was no such kinks this time etc. So now its a waiting game and fingers crossed i have no further issues.
  21. Dont get me wrong, their customer service is there, they are trying to resolve my issues etc. Overall when working, again the sound and performance (seat of my pants indicator lol) is impressive. Its just stupid things like wiring, earths, fuses etc. Im sure if i went with non varex, i wouldnt have an issue. So the exhaust itself is ok, its just the electrical component of it thats giving me a headache at the moment :-( Even prior to purchasing like you mentioned, i did see some negative stories but also positive ones. I remember on my WRX, i went through about 4 exhaust systems over the 11 odd years i owned it. I think with each brand there was good and bad feedback. If you got the spare cash, Joe Z, PPE like you mentioned are a few brands where its hard to find any negative so yep youre paying for the quality and that piece of mind. I wouldnt mind PPE headers, no idea what the cost is though but ill get my exhaust sorted first. Ps Its funny how quickly you get used to it. First day i thought it was so loud. Now im used to it and wouldnt mind it being a bit louder lol. Maybe remove part of the mid section for straight through pipe work
  22. Whilst i was initially impressed, at the moment the Xforce Varex system on my ISF has been a disappointment of late. Ive been down to their factory numerous times over the last week or so and also to Dick Smith and Jaycar to fix the exhaust. Im heading there tomorrow as a last resort as i have told them ive had enough of the problems. When working the exhaust sounds great, throaty on acceleration etc but not too loud or droned when idling. In fact when idling (with A/C off) its not even that noticeable sometimes uness in a carpark or something like that. Problem is the valve that opens often doesnt respond. The remotes are good, no battery issues there. One occasion it was the earth in the cigarette lighter adaptor itself, sot that was resoldered. Then it was a fuse so changed that. I havent got it hardwired into the car yet as ive read some bad stories about poor installation regarding that and besides the system comes with the cigarette adaptor so it should work with it. Now again fuse keeps blowing despite using the suggested amps, from 10-15 etc. As its not that loud id prefer to just use normal xforce mufflers vs the varex design as its become a real pain the as#
  23. Hi mate, well its been a few weeks now and still very impressed. Havent had a chance to get it wired into the car so still running it through the cig lighter adaptor to module that comes with the exhaust. I had an issue with that but the earth came loose in the cig lighter adaptor itself. soldered and all fixed. I drive about 95% open, just closed when i go to work each morning about 5am. When closed its very quiet, all engine. I do believe its quieter than stock when closed. As its quite restrictive closed, i drive very sedately when closed vs open. I dont find there is really any kind of drone at all and its quiet if in auto mode as it picks higher gears. If you drive in F mode and even keep it in a sligthly lower gear, its a nice note, not drone. My understanding is you'll be waiting for ages for next production run. Thats why Xforce called me and they basically fitted a modified IS350 system to mine at their Milperra factory. They are supposedly very similar systems.
  24. In motion i honestly find it hard to tell if an oncoming IS is wider, lower etc. Vents would be easy enough to notice, forgot about that. Never noticed difference in fog lights either. Wish the bonet had a slight cutout like the new GS F or even slight bulge like the M3 (even though i know the ISF has got a raise in it)
  25. I agree, i thought it would be the typical v8 holden/ford exhaust note but its got that raspy high pitch v8 note like a deep R35, C63 etc if that makes sense. Havent heard mine in motion from the outside but damn from the inside, 1 week on and still loving it :-)
