In the days of old i used to run a car forum, only its a specific make and model. It started with only 4 members and when i resigned as CEO it has mor ethan 2000 members. My experience in running a successful forum is it takes times and alot of design and creativity on the site's behalf, this will attract people, things line chatboxes, gallery etc are nice features of a forum...

Previously i mentioned that this forum is dead but then with the stickied thread and all it was alive. Still is more alive now than way before. As for myself, i now work 6 days a week no thanks to corporate greed and interest rates hikes. My enthusiam is kinda down too so that doesnt help my contribution.

Would a better word for soft be "thin"? From the start i knew it isn't as thick and deep as other cars, but i think this has something to do with the type of coat. Most expensive cars are like this. Cars like Honda have a deep spec finish (pearl metallic) and i much prefer this than what's on the Lexus now.

In some cases you can feel the difference after the service but with the lexus becos it's so smooth and quiet you virtually won't be able to tell what has been done or not. Not trying to discredit anyone here, but i fell for what we paid for the car and servicings, we should be able to stick around and watch. I'll try and request this.

I don't know if you know but the people that you book your car for service are not the people that work on your car. The people that work on your car are the mechanics and they can be anyone. True that the dealer's mechanics are more specialising in their cars but that is not the point. The point is whether they are doing it genuinely or not. If you are not there to see, then you cannot say they are. I would go as far as to say even the manager in charge of the actual servicing might not know what gets done. I'm not saying not to take it back to the dealers, neither am i saying elsewhere is better. All i'm saying is that the dealers charge alot for servicings ( all of them do) and it would be good if they let us see what gets done, i don't mind paying for the service (loosely speaking) so longs as i get what i paid for. Unfortunately unless you are there or have a friend that works there that you can trust, there is no telling what gets done or not done.

You cannot say even at th best of places that when you drop your car off that they are doing what they are suppose to do. You are not there so you cannot guarantee what needs to be done gets done. Obviously there are honest and dishonest people other there being a corporate dealer, that doesn't exempt them from not doing the right things. This is one of the cons of getting your car serviced without being there. I know i'm being paranoid to some, but to me i'm been real.

I too wash my car once a month due to time and weather. I got really gently on my washes as to avoid any damages. I have those dirt specs on the bumpers especially rear that i seem to cannot clean. but due to them being plastic, i don't think it'll do much harm. Might get it cut and polished went o do go and see the car.

I never said anything about the GTR not being a valued for money supercar, to some (including me) it is still a Nissan, not a merc if you know what i mean. You will see the GTR on the streets but you won't see it drive like the way it was made to drive. $170K for a car that you can only drive 60, 70, 80-110 for 95% of the time when it was made to go 300km/hr just doesn't cut it for me no matter what. As for the other 5% of the time, i'm sure you would have times of your life but yeh that's only 5% lol

I don't know about the GTR as an alternative. Like you can go that fast with our 60km/hr limits anyway lol. For anything over the 100K i would want name, prestige, looks, performance etc. Teh GTR doesn't have all this imo but that's just me. For 170K i would be getting i merc i think...make that an AMG one too.

I don't know what colours comes with the F but giving it exclusive and limited in colours will add to its appeal. I truely think the cost of the F will be it's major setback. i mean the top spec model of the 250 now is what, 80K? I think 150K for the F although there is a world apart interms of performance is steep. I think the F will sell very well if it is prices around 135K. I would love a black or dark silver/grey F.

I have to give it to Lexus for producing IS F. It's obviously wanted to shake up this part of the market and it has done well so far in the US, but i feel this category will not only be won with figures, you need pedigree, brand and history to go with it. Lexus unfortunatey will score low in these departments. I'm sure Lexus won't mind though given the fact that this is their frist time in the erana.
