  1. Same here. The drivers wiper tip sits at, or just below, the line of extension from the passengers wiper. I have never heard of electronic adjustability for this on the 2006 model.
  2. Just over $300 for pads and unslotted discs. Changed over myself using the original shims.
  3. I have done exactly what you are looking to do. Used dba rotors and bendix cgt pads and the dust is now no worse than my still eom rears. Very pleased.
  4. Hey Chris What fuel are you using? Do you tend to use the lower 91 or 95RON or the 98RON fuel.
  5. Well I've had them on for a week now and I still cannot believe how little dust I have on the front wheels. They look the same as the rears at present. As for the stopping abilities, maybe just a tad more feel and progression for the light and medium pedal applications. Same as old ones for heavy braking. But the lack of dust is a huge plus for me. Should have done this years ago. :D
  6. James Check to see if that includes machining the disks. This may be required. Lexus quoted me $330 for replacement pads and machining so $170 sounds good.
  7. Sorry, no pictures. Hands get far too dirty from the brake dust. But it was quite simple as long as you check how everything comes apart so you can reassemble
  8. Got the job done this evening. Took a while doing the first side just trying to work out what went where and how to get it all back together properly. As previously suggested, it's not difficult I just wanted to ensure attention to detail, and get it right. Second side took about a quarter of the time. Stuff to remember 1. 2 bolts at the back of caliper, top and bottom. Take some effort to loosen. 2. take the shims off the back of each pad. 2 shims on each pad and place on the new pads 3. take the spring off the end of the pad and put onto the new pad. 4. Compress the caliper piston. Very easy with the compressing tool. About $11 5. Use rubber mallet to loosen the rotor. Couple of brisk whacks will get the job done. 6. Re assemble :P Very chuffed at my efforts this evening. Can relax and enjoy my weekend now. :P
  9. Should be this weekend DBA rotors and Bendix CGT pads. Should get me less brake dust.
  10. Hi Jeff Got them as special order through AutoBarn with some discount as my son works there.
  11. Hi LEX51S Not sure what you mean by "rotors behind the rotor", can you clarify?? I haven't pulled a wheel off yet to have a look. Waiting til I get a few hours up my sleeve.
  12. Thanks ilv I'll give it a whirl as I'm not in Sydney. So no tips or tricks to be aware of? Just pretty straight forward?
  13. Hello I have ordered my new rotors and pads and will be needing to install them shortly. Has anyone done this before? I did it years ago on another car with a mechanic friend, but he's not available this time. Is it easy? and are there any tips or tricks to help make it easier to get it right the first time? Thanks
  14. +1. :D I carry a lot of eqipment in wheeled suitcases, or my golf gear, and the carpet underneath is still pristine after 4 years of use.
  15. Depends what you want your driving experience to be. If you love point and shoot hard edged acceleration, braking and performance then the STi would be my pick (had a WRX and Liberty B4). If you want the power of the 350 engine in a far more luxurious and quality finished car then get the Lexus. 4 years ago I went from the B4 to the IS250. The lack of power bothered me initially, but the lovelly smooth, quiet driving has more than made up for it. If I want to punt it through the hills then it is not much slower at the apex, just doesn't get to the corner, or away from the corner, as quickly.
  16. Check the tyre size as well. The 205's in 16" only come on the Prestige not the SL. The SL should have 17" if standard and they are, from memory, 225 front and 245 rear.
  17. I'm sure you'll be happy Subby. Had mine now for 5K km and they have been excellent for comfort, noise and performance (at my level). I would get them again.
  18. PLZ I get white marks on my dark trim doors after using sunscreen. You may be having the same issue if using a sunscreen or moisturiser perhaps.
  19. Hi Newbie I have been very happy with my Yokohama v550. In the 17" they can be bought in the oem sizing and are cheaper than most other offerings available locally. Quiet as well.
