  1. Yeh, I will give em ago!! I do like the look and you will notice that pretty much every ride on CL has it done.... Its just the done thing over there!
  2. Hey kinjiru, Awesome write up!!! Almost felt as if I were there instead of you!!! Thanks for share'n the day mate!! ;)
  3. Yeh, I like the look of the redouts as well!! You reakon they are cut that well?? That would be my concern!!
  4. Hey brother!! So forgetting about the shear obvious differences in performance, handleing, braking, sound........you get the idea.........., did it feel like were still hopping into an IS or a totally different car??? If that makes sense!!! So when U thinking of making the change??? Any immediate plans? Im going to try and hop in one soon. Can't wait after listening to all y'all reports!!
  5. If we check the members location post, we got a few guys there now, but we got no idea what ya ride looks like!! Why not add a pic here y'all!! (Except for the regulars that is!!)
  6. Hey Lexus!!! Yeh, U pretty much right! You can't scan through an MP3! Only suggestion is to break up long tracks with software before you burn. You can do it with minimal pause so that it does sound seemless!! As for the balance, you have the sound field where you adj the fader and balance etc. Is that what you are refering to??
  7. I couldn't agree with U more Niick!!! I've tried to inspire the posts in the past and Im not sure what more I can do. Im still constantly on CL trying to bring valid info where I can to the Aus audience. Guys, even if you find reference info and post it on this forum like Korvan started way back.......its definately a way to keep activity on this forum up!! I know that alot of us are slow in the mod dept at the moment due to different factors, but if you do one, try to publish it here. We will all benefit from your experience!! Don't be shy, there is no such thing as a bad post!! If it doesn't interest someone, big deal! No one will bite your head off!! Come on all!! Lets do this thing!!! ;) Also, some new members of late.......... I think that everyone would agree, lots and lots of "cool" people out there with IS's now. If you check out this forum, join and have your say!!! Anyway, thats my bit ..........!! Thanks Niick and all ya'll that want more from this forum!! Really cool!! ;)
  8. Acutally, I reckon I can clear this up. NSC = North Shore Classic (smash repair place). I dinged up my car and asked Lexus of Chatswood to reccommend a repairer. They suggested NSC. I've been there twice (including today when I picked up my car) and there is always heaps of Lexus' in there an also out the front (but other cars as well including a Maserati and Porsche's). On another note, I was being shown my car today (after repair) and the guy (he is the manager there) owns an IS250 as well. I checked out his ride, and it is dark grey with a boot lid spoiler, Advanti two piece rims, and lowered on Eibach springs and Bilstein suspension. He said that he's been working with cars for 20 years and the IS250 is the best car he's ever owned. He then showed me a 5 series with noticable gaps in body panels to prove the point, and he said that his wife owns a previous generation BMW 3 series coupe but hates it and prefers to drive his car! It's always nice to hear such comments. He also said he loves Lexus' but also hates them because to repair them back to their original level of quality is a big challenge for him and his team. Hahaha! If you guys ever (and let's hope you don't) need a smash repair place, these guys are pretty good, and it makes me feel better knowing that the manager there drives my model of car and is obviously a car fanatic too. Thanks for that!! I might have to pop in and have a chat to the guy. Why is he not a member!! Sounds like he could be a great contact! I wouldn't mind talking to him about getting my "M2" stonechips fixed!!! Its awesome hearing things like that. Must admit, I remember reading that post about poor build quality and I thought "no way"!! I reakon they built to a tight spec!! Well mine anyway!! Eibachs ha!!??! I need to start pushing a drop on my ride seriously!!
  9. Hey I reckon that was me...Although if so, then I need to point out that my wheels are "Shadow Chrome". I've posted pics on this site before. I'm not a big Chromy fan, but the darker gunmetal look of shadow chrome is nice. Do you use Windsor rd much?? Im pretty sure thats not the first time i've seen the car.... Perhaps it was shadow chrome. I will have to eye out ya pic a bit closer. If it was U, very nice!!! ;) This is why we need our club sticker!! Or we start high beaming as soon as we see a modded IS!! Surely we can inspire more people to join our forum!!
  10. Well Q, I was wondering how long untill someone noticed my ride for sale!! HAHAHA! Come on man, my ride looks better then that!! Sorry if you own the car on ebay!! But its true!! <_<
  11. Well, that could make sense...Perhaps the service centre takes the cars there to get detailed or something. Like I said, there are always a heap of Lexus vehicles there. The service dude must of turned ya traction control off because he was lighting em up down the street!!! HAHAHA!!! Have you got a sticker on the back window!!
  12. Ok, not sure what the deal is, Artarmon, I think the joint is called NSC, every time I pass by, there is at least 4 or 5 IS250's out the front. One stood out today as it had the same wheels as Ilv , and had a sticker on the back window!! Surely someone here can claim a ride!!!!
  13. Welcome .....(Back)!!! The negative that you read about was in regards to noise from behind the dash. Not sure if the guys with the pre-07 cars here have had it, but that has now been rectified.....Just thought I would jump in on this ol' family re-union!!
  14. Not yet but I drove one for about 2 hours yesterday in the morning and the seats felt pretty good to me, especially with the tighter sports suspension on the IS-F it still felt comfortable and snug when throwing the car around corners and roundabouts around the Botany area. I was going to post yesterday to find out how you went!! And the verdict is..........................................................????? Will we see a youtube Vid from U soon??? The IS-F is just awesome. The engine and the gearbox are absolutely brilliant. The V8 engine is a beast and pulls in any gear, the gearbox is also something special, the best thing about it is the fact it will switch from auto to semi-auto with a flick of a paddle. Those that have ever tried VW's DSG gearbox will know what I mean. You can be driving along in auto nicely and apart from the deep rumble coming out of the back it is no different to driving an IS250, however as soon as a bit of room opens up ahead, press the left paddle down twice and put your foot down and let it rip. And the noise the engine makes, even my missus was impressed enough to say that she wished our car sounded like that. The ride is noticeably stiffer with the 19's and the tweaked suspension but throw it around corners and you don't notice any bodyroll and the steering is light and precise. Apart from that it is pretty much an IS250, everything else is the same, a bit of carbon fibre on the centre console bit and the doors, all the buttons and switches are the same as the IS250. The only other thing is the brakes which stop on a dime and don't fade even after trashing it around a bit. I loved it and as soon as I get back from our honeymoon I hope to be heading down to Parra with my cash in hand to order one... PS. There was a black on black one already sold at the dealer and it looked amazing. Very discreet for those that don't want to show off until you plant your foot on the accelerator. Thanks mate, Really enjoyed the write up!! What, you think you work for Top Gear now!!!hahahahahahahahahah!!! Seriously though, sounds bloody awesome!!!! Actually I reckon we should apply for a job at Top Gear, for me Top Gear Australia is crap and I haven't watched it since halfway through the first episode. I wish SBS would show the original Top Gear as well. Yeh, couldn't agree with you more!!! Only reason I watched the first episode was to see myself on TV. Have to admit, I did think that it had potential when they were filming but seeing it cut up lost me!! SBS are definately trying to copy the BBC formula too much!! You right, maybe we should take over the gig!! So as for the IS-F, did you have the car un-restricted for the 2hours. ie, no rep with you!! And yes, black on black is more discrete, but there is no hiding that bonnet line / bulg!!! ;) Beeefyy!!

  17. Hey there!!! Without going into too much detail, basically, I will try to anwer it as simply as possible! If you want more detail, I guess we will all elaborate! You will also find past posts where this had been discussed as just like you, we were all wondering the same thing when we purchased ours!! Playing DVDs - Originals OK! Burnt originals, can be quite flakey depending on burn. I haven't had much luck, not that I've really tried too hard!! Divx (avi's,etc), No go!! As for the MP3's, no probs. You can save them in folders and obviously name the folders how ever you like! As for burning on DVD, don't think anyone has had luck with it.Let me re-phrase, I know that no one has had luck with it!! Depending apon what bit rate ya MP3's are at, you will find the cdr large enough I think as you still got a 6 stack that can be filled. Hope this partially answers your questions, but by all means, play when U get your new ride and let us all know if you discover something new!!
  18. Thought I would add this one because my last one was so average and you guys almost have studio quality!! <_< Are we feel'n the drop?? Anyone had luck with sourcing decent springs yet??? Anyone want to part with theirs?? (& no, im not hassling you Q!!!!)
  19. Hi all, Found this write up on how to change / get access to the mirror globe. Thought it would be good reference as I want to change my ones over to LED aswell!! ok this was very easy to do..like pocky said move the mirror so it is all the way up..then i just put my hand in between the bottom of the mirror and the housing and i pryed it out..there are a couple of clips that come undone and then you pull it out and up to undo the hooks at the top...take out the screws...then slide the back of the housing off..twist the bulb out of the lense and then remove the bulb (its a wedge just pull it out) then put your new led wedge bulb in..(one thing i suggest is make sure the bulbs work before replacing anything..i had to do the drivers side twice because the bulb wasnt wedged in all the way) then replace the lense and the back of the mirror housing..replace the 3 screws...then hook the top of the mirror back in (its easiest if you look from underneath to make sure the hooks are lining up) then push the mirror in all around..its gonna move a bit but keep pushing one side at a time until it locks in here are a few pics with the mirror off
  20. Wasn't U brother!! Yours is pretty easy to identify!! And you would know if it were you cause I generally try to tail or accelerate up from behind so that they know that Im there!!That is unless it is some ol' lady!!! I work in the CBD so if ya see some crazy dude in ya rear vision for a second, its probably me!!! ;)
  21. Niiiiiiiiiiicccceee!! Was yours in the wet??? We are talk'n down town Melbourne after all!! HAHAHAHH :D Like ya ol' mans style!! Definately the clubby is alot fun, but............................... U cant go passed the IS- F!! Just tell him that its an investiment!! We talk'n 25% depreciation come tax time, ya can't go wrong!!! Just think of the fun!!! Oh yeh, Camaro is damn nice too!! Stang?? Mmmmm Just as nice as long as we're talkn big blocks!! ;)
  22. So I guess the overall satisfaction with the spoiler is good!! And for those that fitted it them selves, no hassles with the D/S tape!! All good?? Niick, you probably the wrong one to ask as your ride is black, but I assume the colour was matched well!?!? Thanks for the pics fellas!!
  23. Hey Niick, Thought U would appreciate this clip after that comment!! Check out the IS-F Vs BM! Take note on how average the effort was from the Beema!! I wonder If this will be Art on Sunday when he test drives the IS-F!!I bet it will be the first round about that he finds in Parra!!
