  1. So what year C63 did you pick up for a 60k budget? Issue with that is it offers no more space than the IS and would be no better of. But hey can't beat an AMG
  2. Surprisingly, the boot space is pretty good for the pram, it fits better than the wife's hatch and can still get plenty in and out. The seat will be forward facing in a few months so it should open up some more space in the back, but it is still pretty tight, not that i have had many passengers in the back at all. The only reason to be considering a larger car is for a potentially larger family in the next few years. Yes but from what i have read so far is that that is only a minor faclift (like 08 to 09 model) with the introduction of hybrid and this not to be like a new GS release or as per the LF-CC concept. I could be wrong... i hope i'm wrong and might just hold off. im quite sure it's a full model change the IS has passed its model lifecycle Based on this, i think i might have to wait... Although, I'm sure Lexus will do what ever they can over the next few months to get rid of the old models. Time to bag a deal i think???

  4. Well it has literally been 18 months or so since i was last on here and it is now time to upgrade and wanted to get some feedback. I've had the IS250X for 4 years next month and really don't want to part with it. Only issue is with the addition of a little family member, it is truly not a family car. I can get over this, but it's convincing the missus. Anyway, i have a few options that i am considering before i have to make a decision by early November. (in no particular order) 1. sell Lexus, buy larger family sedan 2. refinance and keep for another 4 years 3. refinance initially and buy new mazda 6 when released early next year 4. refinance and keep until 2014 IS is released 5. upgrade to 350 F sport (my #1 pick) To be honest, this is a hard call, and would like as much input as possible. Jake i might have to come and see you.
  5. Yea yea, long time no post I know; I am keen for this meet, just got a new DSLR and keen to snap up some cool shots. May be going away that weekend, not 100% sure at this stage. 6. I bought my car brand new from Newcastle 2 years ago. I was considering getting it delivered back down to Sydney, but was advised that the new cars these days do not need to be 'run in'. I was told that the technology these days and that the engine had already been run in, meant there was no need to drive around like a granny for the first 1000km. I since drove the car to Sydney that day - 160km, sitting on just under 100km/hr. I raised my concern again at the first service at a different dealership and the guys said the same again, there is no need for concern and the engine is not harmed in any way. 2 years on, no problems (touch wood - ) Enjoy it mate, you know you want to! Wish I had that extra power.
  7. I'm 30 and there seems to be a consensus on the general age of the IS drivers and of other Lexus models, yea sure it does seem to be generalising, but it is true. However, one important point to make. Has anyone ever seen a young person driving a Gold IS250???? I have only ever seen older retirees, but as for the other colours, generally younger. But sticking to the topic of the 350... are they in dealers yet? What colours are on show?
  8. Welcome and congrats on the purchase. Not sure if this will fix the screen it goes back to after reverse, I believe this must be a default setting. But there is an option in the screen settings to have the screen switch back to the Nav in any mode (audio, climate etc) after a certain amount of time. You can also switch this off.
  9. Great shots, very exite :) Gotta disagree a bit there; they look too much like the 250 sport rims... not that that's a bad thing, just not original.
  10. I've got tingles... of the good kind. Can't get to the show till next Friday night. Will be talkin to u Dis! RRP on F-Sport & SL?
  11. I wouldn't imagine anyone would do this as it is a completely different width. Rear are wider for more grip at the drive wheels and thinner at front for better steering. Unless, you mean changing the front wheels to same as rear? Which then would pose the question of if it would even fit.
  12. Brake pads at 37km? Really. Did they suggest that to you or do you actually ride your brakes hard? I just had 45km service done and still didn't need replacing. Probably will at 60km. Just think guys, most other car dealers make you pay for a loner. A free IS250 loner car isn't too bad. Sure they miss out on the Nav and other little luxuries, but better than the rest. I actually got the new RX350 last service, which was great because I really wanted to drive one. I was impressed with the power and overall performance, but just way too big for what I need. I loved getting back in the IS. Yes, it really does make you appreciate it. I doubt they'd have an ISF or a 250C as a loner for this reason.
  13. I'm surprised you can't do this. I have a 5th Gen iPod (can't speak for iPhone), but I can change tracks, change artists, volume all using the Steering wheel controls. I had the connection installed at time of purchase, not sure of brand or type, but it works great. The connection is in the glove box plugged into the rear of the unit. Contact a dealer to find what they use.
  14. Agree. There are few other little steps in between, such as - peel back boot liner and remove 2 or 3 bolts, once these are out, give it a little nudge and they should just pop out. The do the same in reverse to install. You need to give it a bit of a hit to get it in solid.
  15. Still haven't decided. Yea, the ER33 are $466 each. I'll probably end up going a mid range tyre such as adrenalin or excellence around $380ish. Need all the cash I can save for the moment, saving the $$ for a US trip next year. All prices are for 225 / 40 / 18.
  16. Yea Turanza's original tyres sold on car, can't complain they've been great and I've gotten 45k out of them. Cost is up there though. But may be worth it in the end. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, wot to do wot to do?????
  17. Hey guys, gotta get tyres this week, left it too late. If anything, I hate getting tyres. I never feel like i'm being given the right advise by the tyre salesmen. They only want to sell you what is on special or what they get a good commission on. I'm looking for long life, quiet & good handling. Anyway, has anyone got any thing to add on the below brands: 225/40/18 - BF Goodrich - GForce Sport $239 - Bridgestone Turanza ER33 $466 (stock) - Khumo Ku31 $291 - Bridgestone Adrenaline $376 - Goodyear Excellence $389 Please suggest any other brands to look at.
  18. That's not like your type to say not to pay for it. You should be pushing it :D
  19. I tried this, LED's let off hardly any light and it's more of the appeal of LED's than anything. You would need to find one that would let of light in multiple directions rather to reflect, other than a straight pointing LED. You'd just get a straight light, which IMO looks a little silly. I tried it, and threw them out.
  20. As per PM... Easy enough to change fogs & parkers. Fogs, just peel back wheel liner and a simple twist and change. Parkers are in the same section as the high beams. Again, an easy twist and change. I changed both fogs & parkers to white halogen. Wasn't keen on the LED look with the HID.
