  1. HID Installation is pretty simple. Looking back after I have done it. Before, I had no idea and just took my time. You should find these helpful. HID Conversion HID Tutorial
  2. Of course a drop would be nice. depending on what you went, may compromise the ride quality, however the guys who have dropped can add more info to this and what they went with. F-Sport seems to be a subtle and nice drop, but there are many other options out there. Definately go HID's. No need to go OEM. You can buy a decent kit from HID Lighting - Arco Imports. 6000k is nice bright white with slight blue. 4200k is stock HID I second ilv's exhaust / intake suggestion.
  3. Damn straight, I got my spoiler from a Sewell Parts, with the coverted $, worked out to be around AU$500 shipped. Fitted it myself. Don't buy parts from dealer unless absolutely necessary. My first stop is always Sewell or eBay. Off eBay, be aware that you may be buying non-genuine.
  4. I second the welcome and no doubt you will enjoy the IS world. If you mean automated unlock / lock or without the key, the only way is to insert your hand into the handle to open and also pushing the lock button with the key in close range. There is no other way of automatically unlocking / locking the car. This isn't James Bond stuff :P but close :) As for intake, there are many topics on this throughout, but I am looking at the F-Sport intake / filter (appox $500). I can't comment on other brands as I have not done the research. I'm sure others can add to this. Enjoy!
  5. Not sure on the 07 models, I know that from O8 models they have stated on the fuel lid that Ethanol fuel is suitable. However, personally I would not recommend it. Also, I wasn't even aware they had 95 ethanol. For best performance and fuel economy use any premium fuel. I have not been using anything less than 98 Octane.
  6. Firstly, $600 is about right, but I called around and paid closer to $500 at Chatswood. But if you live near other dealers, ring around they might give you a better price. But.... $1200 for a 90k service. Dude, you got ripped! I could have bought you a flask for $20 and chocolates from Coles and keyrings are things bought with spare change. What else did they do??? Any advise I can give is always ring around to see who's doing what.
  7. Totally agree! I don't get the whole thing of copy what every other car manufacturer is doing. Audi, Porsche, Holden, Merc and the list goes on and now Lexus. Also, the wheels look like the old Sports model wheels slightly dressed up. Steering wheel, another tacky add on trying to change the look that doesn't need to be changed. Two positives though is the front lip and of course the number in the name "350". Unreal! Would I buy one??? Only if I was blown away by the drive & additional power for the price.
  8. I also run white wedge halogen bulbs. You can get a range of them that can look very blue, but don't give off much light. Try eBay
  9. Don't bother with LED's, sure it may look... OK, but the LED cannot support the power and will constantly blow. 1st hand experience. Good choice on the intake, I still gotta get to that one.
  10. I'm a 50/50 at this stage guys, doing major renovations at home that weekend, but will try to duck out for a few hours.
  11. I have 20% tint and from memory only paid around $250ish at Solartint at Castle Hill. I always think the darker the better, but the reverse camera comes in handy at night otherwise you can't see sh1t. Best to shop around for best price / product.
  12. A great idea, but I don't think would be worth it, especially at $12k. The foam inserts wouldn't work either; unless if your an amazing upholster and can match the leather; again, probably not worth it. If I had the cash, i'd just spend the extra and buy a new F-Sport. While you're spending, why not lash out another $10k for an IS350... hmmm, can't wait, the thought makes me salivate.
  13. Small world hmmmmm; the secrets. I agree, love the front end, but not too sure on the wheels. They look like the old Sports model wheels. Can't wait to see it in person.
  14. How'd you snare that? I was speaking with the guy at Sydney City hoping to give me a call when it's in.
  15. Getting my car serviced today for 45,000km and had the usual call from them saying that this and that needed to be done. 1 - they said that I needed to replace / clean the carbon build up? I have never heard this before and sounds like a bit of crap to get an extra $150 out of me 2 - the usual of every car service, the air con needs to be re-gassed also $150. To me, it all sounds like a pile of crap, but any if anyone with a mechanical mind can convince me otherwise, please do.
  16. No, you've got the thread in the right spot. I'm sure there are plenty of iPhone users in this forum. This sounds as though Apple have made changes so that you cannot use the phone while driving. I would assume that Apple have had requests from all associated Whereis DVD Sat Nav car companies (Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, Jaguar, Ford, Land Rover) to have this system changed and would coincide with the upgrades. Maybe try reverting your software back; if that's possible?
  17. Love the idea of the ISF seats for the F-Sport. That'd be a nice little touch. Still not convinced on the two tone steering wheel. The changes seem to be as minor as the 09 changes. Will have to see it in person before making judgement.
  18. Sadly this is a tool that sales people use to get a sale. By saying that the car is arriving sooner than expected creates more interest in purchasing the car quicker. If you knew you had to wait over a month, you may have gone somewhere else. Just think that when you actually do get the car imagine how much you'll appreciate it. You will not be disappointed! Enjoy & Welcome :)
  19. Well welcome first up and good luck with buying the car; you will not be disappointed! You are correct in your assumptions re the Sports / Sport Luxury; the main difference is the interior (Alcantara, no wood trim, EMV not standard), also the suspension is harder in the Sports model. So if it's a smoother ride you're after, stick with the Sports Luxury - it has it all. Personally, i'm not a fan of the wood grain interior, but each to their own. Yes the Sport model in the range has been discontinued and it has been nicely filled with the F-Sport. Your research is pretty bang on and i'm sure the guys here will help you with anything further I have forgotten.
  20. June is a busy month for new cars due to end of financial year, hence all the marketing all the car companies are doing. Plus doing deals. Sounds like a great price. Congrats. What colour combo? I got a black/black. Should look pretty good but friends have concerns about keeping it clean. Still a few weeks away my dealer tells me. Can't wait for delivery. Nice - Congrats! I have the same (black/black); the best interior and easiest to keep looking clean, but yea the outside can be frustrating. But I knew that when I bought the car. Black looks the best when it is clean; but problem is it doesn't stay clean too long. I wash mine every 1-2 weeks anyway, so no real time for it to get too dirty. I polished it on the weekend - used Meguiars SwirlX followed by Gold Class liquid wax. Came up brand new. I am in love with my car... again :D
