  1. "defuse the diffuser issue" (a play on words...for those that didn't get it) Wow there's bit of drama over nothing here bluewaffle.....I've cracked a bit of a joke that you didn't get. And not a joke about you. I'm a massive F1 fan hence the F1 reference....if you know anything about F1 you would know about the F-duct & double diffuser issue that went through at the start of last season. A couple of us on here ran an F1 thread last season(Project are we on again this season?) And lex51s and I tangle on the M5 on regular occasions...only he was meant to get that. Apart from not getting my humour, which can happen, I fail to see what you were offended by....there was no mention of you personally. "Why would you want a diffuser on your IS?"......."aesthetics" was your answer & is all you needed to say..and that's cool. I don't think comments like this are necessary on this forum as we are all pretty friendly & like to have a laugh, catch up from time to time and get out from behind our keyboards. I have shot a PM through to you...my mobile number. You are free to give me a call tomorrow if you feel the need to have a chat.
  2. What about a double diffuser??? Oh thats right the FIA banned those for this F1 season.....I'll passed. What about an F-duct? Reckon you could knock one of those up??? Great for passing LEX51S on the M5. :D Seriously though...Why would you want a diffuser on your IS250?
  3. Very true Lexus Nerd. From a dealer. However the car in question was purchased from a private sale so Caveat emptor applies. That is the benefit of buying from a dealer over private sale and why there is usually a difference in price.
  4. GS350 isn't a local model??? (yet) Locally the current recall only affects
  5. Why do you say this ilv0004s? I've never bought anything from them so I'm not vouching for them but wondering why you have canned them.
  6. Why don't you buy an Alfa....you had that Italian sound on your IS250 before...do you miss it that much??? :P OK I'll shut up now. or what about OK I'm shutting up :D :D
  7. Paint protection is a profit cow for dealerships. It is a glorified polish. Don't waste your money. Many Lexus dealerships don't offer it. Its a bit rude to sell a premium priced vehicle based largely on its build quality then tell you that you need to spend some more to save to paint from going off. If paint protection was all its cracked up to be it would come from the factory with it. Getting your car detailed once a year is a better option.
  8. Its actually glass flecks in the Starlight Black. I agree with your discription of the 350 F-Sport suspension. Front awesome, low & flat...rear feels higher & softer IMO. I admire your ambition in trying to explain a sway bar and its dymanics to "IS350-F".........he thinks the ECT switch is a POWER button hahaha...... At least he admits he is cluesless.
  9. I just had a friend pick up an IS300 Platinum, one owner & full Lexus service history for $16k. (It helps to know the right people) A non- Aust del car that has been imported personally will be dificult at any price.
  10. Not really.... Someone with a prestige would pay to buy factory Sports suspension. Why would someone with stock prestige suspension...pay to buy the same. They've already got it. I don't think its something that will sell.
  11. Hey Richie, That sounds promising for anyone with an IS-F. I've got 2 people that may be interested...one is overseas & I have left a message for the other.
  12. Are you serious??? I think you'll need to put your own money down. Or better still just buy something else.
  13. For the price of the lights you could almost have just bought the next model up which comes with them standard.....amongst other things.
  14. Actually "shift link" locking & unlocking can be activated yourself. You don't need to go to the dealer. Instructions are in the owners manual. Windows/sunroof off the remote are a dealer activation.
  15. Wow talk about threads of time....a lot of old threads being dug up lately. Its like a history lesson on here lately.
  16. Hey Blacky, From my experience it doesn't matter what iPod you use. I use an 8gb iPod nano & an iPhone 4. Both work the same.
  17. Great post Lexus Nerd. You've supplied actual facts. As you mentioned the Engine ECU in our cars have the ability to adapt to what fuel you put in. That way there is no pre-igniting or "pinging" on 91....however if you do use premium you get a benefit in the right conditions. Some cars ECUs are tuned to only run smoothly on premium. Others are tuned to run on 91 so there's no benefit from "premo". In our cars driving in Sydneys traffic at low speeds the benefit of premo is reduced & to a certain extent wasted. However if you are getting out of town & doing some open road driving then premo makes use of it's benefits. There are many variables that haven't been mentioned in any of the fuel threads I've read on here. Tyre air pressures can have an impact on fuel consumption but is rarely thought about.. Also performance can be affected more by temperature than octane sometimes. You're car will always feel like it's got more response on a cold morning or evening than on a hot day. I think it's factors like this that give some people false impressions of the benefit of premium fuel.
  18. Quality not quantity was the theme for the night. Not so many cars but all nice. Not sure about Danny's two mates that turned up in the Toyota Camry. Someone should have told them it was a Lexus meet....no Toyotas. One of them really liked Danny's car though. No Alfas either now that Chris has changed his exhaust and got his Lexus back. Much better Chris. Richie with the best sounding IS-F I've heard wins the man of the match award for the night. Nice to meet you Richie. For the next meet I may have a suggestion for us to do something different???
  19. Nothing like the IS350 F-Sport to make you feel better.... :D See you there guys.
  20. 80gb HDD???? Why wouldn't you just use a 160gb iPod? Especially as it has a better menu system as displayed on the cars EMV. Search options are as follows. HDD: Folders & Files only. iPod: Albums, Artists, Songs & Playlists. There are a few others choices that I can't think of at the moment.
  21. Yeah planning on coming but feeling pretty aweful after the steak I had for lunch. $90 for lunch and you feel sick, that ain't right! See how I go. Try to make it.
