  1. If anyone is really serious about dropping the coin on a supercharger, i would suggest trying harrop in prston vic They know supercharges, have an in house enngineering facility, aluminium casting facility, CNCs and in house dyno If they think there is a market for more kits and someone is willing to put their car and coin up, you never know I know a few people there from the work on the mini with the TVS900
  2. Not convinced this is necessary, scroll down here and see the valves after 50,000 km. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f-2008-2014/600015-carbon-build-up-on-lexus-v8.html I am no expert but carbon build up is a trait of direct injection and if you read the patent for direct injection, it points out carbon build up is still an issue yet major manufacturers all went to it. Per my previous post the carbon is there as no fuel is flowing over the valves to clean. I was looking at an Audi RS4 and this is one of the things that really turned me off. There are some seriously bad photos with RS4 Audis But I doubt you will find a photo of an ISF showing carbon build up. Everything with carbon build up on the IS is to do with 250 and 350 which run direct injection. My opinion only
  3. Other than the initial rubbing getting in and out, first 6 months of ownership. It is pretty good. Drivers seat is obviously the worse, passenger side get sat in rarely and the rear seats maybe a dozen times at best. For a long time I sat on a towel as wear black jeans for work but gave up after a while and just cleaned more regularly. Need to give the dirvers seat a good scrubbing as it doesn't get driven now, spends most the time sitting under covers. I lover the white interior but yep you have to maintain it or you will regret it. PS: I went to take a photo of interior but it is locked and keys are elsewhere
  4. I run the T3 rotors all round with Project Mu pads but cant remember which grade. I dont track the car so was just looking for a low cost quality combo. No complaints what soever, no squeal and low dust.
  5. Yep a clear bar might be a good idea. I have got a good couple of stone chips in the bonnet over the time. White on White is the same as me but 2010. get use to Leather cleaner if you wear any type of dark jeans. Once a month minimum or it will only make it harder later.
  6. Isf is both port and direct injection, not sure you will have carbon build up alla Audi or BMW. Direct injection is the trouble with carbon build up, no fuel flowing over the valves,
  7. In that case and if you get a reasonable amount of laps not a bad gig.
  8. In that case it is not a bad price to thrash someone else's car. However if I remember correctly we were not allowed to drive ISFs. You got to drive the celebrity CT cars and IS350s, got driven in the ISF and a ride in the LFA. As I understand BMW run M2s and M3 plus at the island.
  9. I also did the 2011 event at Sandown. If you have never done a track day, it is fun but don't think it is anything super special. It is really about making money by Lexus not giving something back to their customers and hence they are charging for the event. TBH it would be cheaper to take your own car to a CAMs come and try day at Sandown or PI and you could get more track time. Yes it is in your car but sometimes that is the point. By the way I am still waiting for photos from 2011 event, which is typical Lexus PR all lip service and no real substance. Lol Is it around $400.00?
  10. $950.00 total with clips and moulds etc.
  11. I got one done under insurance (chip / crack), price wasn't so unreasonable, priced so well that insurance had no troubles going genuine. Yes, new moulds are used. I got my dealer to arrange and I think they out sourced installation. Murphys law, I can another small chip a month later lol I try to find price later
  12. I am thinking about moving on from my ISF. so last weekend went to test drive at Lexus Melbourne, sorry don't have one. So was like ok, can't buy one then. Went to BMW south bank to test an M3 "sorry you have to make an appointment", I said what! Oh, yes it is an M and it is special. You have to be kidding, so it was like seeya! Man, I don't know how these business get people to buy cars. Ill sit on my F for a few more months, lol Will have to do something soon as lease is up, again. ;-)
  13. At the moment my new combo does not squeal at all. Mind you I have gone for a more street friendly pad, rather than track orientated. It will be interesting to see how much dust they produce. I am happy camper early in the piece
  14. Bchler no idea how you are getting those prices for OEM parts and labour, seeing as I was quoted double and did ask for their best price or going elsewhere. Guess the service manager is so kind to me after all. Lol Spec, if you are down south east in Melbourne , try Johnny at OTR they were pretty good to me for a walk up. In the end car is out of warranty but if OEM pricing was as bchler said I would go OEM
  15. So after 111,000 km it was time to replace my rotors. Looked at OEM but price was crazy high, I think + $4,000.00 for F&R rotors and pads. Ended up going DBA T3 4000 series (would have done 5000 series but don't offer). Match with a set of project Mu street pads (daily driver not track car) and so far so good. All up installed (because I'm lazy) $1,500.00
  16. If you in Melbourne I have some old front pads
  17. Are people replacing the spring clips and small parts (kit) when replacing pads and rotors.
  18. this is the same controller I use for my track mini. I think it is from Italy. Works well for the mini but I think the Lexus software is far more sophisticated thank the 2002 mini siemens unit. For what it is worth the unit itself works well and holds different tunes.
  19. The mini has made 220 kmh down the straight before turning into one at the island. But just found out ran that PB 52 with the car down on power. Just got off the dyno and found it lean again due to pressure reg issues. Back at the island end of month with problem fixed, so hoping for some more speed and will need to grab the bull (balls) by the horn for turn one. Lol
  20. Yep PI island is a great track but deceptive. You don't know how fast your going until you go off, lots of space but gets gobbles up QUICK SMART if you go off I still struggle with turn one and turning in at some real speed but working on it. Lol Need to grow some balls and only touch brake and turn in at + 200 kmh and then my lap times will drop good and proper. I will be there in a couple of weeks with Porsche club, so fingers cross mini on dyno tomorrow means good numbers and then it is up to the monkey behind the wheel.
  21. Hey Peter, yes and a small world. I was at broadford also for the AROCA when it got rained out. Well I gave up as slicks and wet weather don't mix. As well as my F I have a little dedicated green R53 mini, which I ran a 52 at the island that weekend. Which I was pretty happy with. All good, at least you are willing to take yours to the track. so did you trade black one on the white one? Heading the Porsche day at the island in a couple of weeks. But first on the dyno on Friday to make sure all is good with the new tune. You going to track the new beast?
  22. Hey Peter. Did you have the black one with some SA plates but are in Vic. Ttere is one I see at the track lately burning around while I'm in my mini. Lol
  23. I sit what I would call fairly upright and close to the wheel for 6' and have not troubles with seating position, I do sit as low as the seat goes though.
