  1. I paid something like $700 for a IS F fob in Australia. They are far cheaper overseas, but I couldn't find an F one. Like has been mentioned Lexus of Miami sell on eBay and send parts very quickly.
  2. Yeah $2.8k I think they were for PPE? I would love a set of Sikkys. The Americans get great Dynojet results with them... Concrete dyno information harder to come by here in Australia.
  3. I didn't think there was a 6 speed auto in the new IS? Even if there is, there is no double clutch and no manual. Then the problem (very) limited engine choices (3, or 4 with IS F). And 2 body styles for the previous model, I'll give them 3 for this one. The E90 3 Series had 10 engine specs and 3 or 4 transmission specs. Not to mention they were available in 4 body styles (or was it 5?). I'm not mathematician but that is a massive difference in possibility.
  4. I didn't see this thread until now. Very cool. The LS600h is a sweet thing.
  5. By they I mean Lexus, with Junichi Furuyama (Chief Engineer) speaking for them when he specifically said that 3 series was best in class and that was who they were targeting with the new car. I think the new IS will fall short of its goal (especially) if it can't address the lack of powertrain options.
  6. I found Lexus (Canberra) useless in fixing rattles and squeaks... Not to mention my air filter at service, anyway. I ended up fixing them myself, a highway drive allowed me to nut it out. I also cut the little bits off the seat (I had the seat squeak too). All I live with now is the door window which I can accept. Like Danny says the cars are reliable so they do make up for this frustration. The overly quiet and refined cabin does it no favours when they can't deal with rattles either.
  7. I'm guessing you haven't read about the new 8 speed with a g force sensor that detects when you are cornering. Yes but I'm not sure that addresses the problem. There is a lack of consumer choice in engine and transmission options, particularly compared to BMW they state they are targeting.
  8. Looking forward to hearing what you think. Have you had the car dyno'd with the various systems?
  9. http://www.novel-japan.jp/other/index.html - Under ECU TUNE: Arousal potentialBy reprogramming (engine control unit) ECU you have made all of the control engine, ECU tuning to awaken the potential that was asleep. With the genuine power by reviewing and throttle map valve timing, ignition timing map fuel, the potential of the original that has been kept unavoidable, such as safety margin than necessary measures and fuel efficiency environmental performance, by the curse of various · It can be raised further torque response. Can also raise the limiter, speed limiter Reburimitta also various. To take full advantage of the potential that has been awakened, can feel more sensual driving pleasure. Also I just had a thought, in Japan their dynos derive PS; was it 480PS or 480rwhp they achieved? I just find 480rwhp too good to be true (hope I'm wrong).
  10. The rear 3/4 view I found difficult initially, I got used to it the more I looked. It's definitely a risky design and with Lexus stance too high with wheels too small (aside from IS F and LFA) I'm not sure such an extreme design will be pulled off mass-market. I hope I'm wrong.
  11. Great stuff. It really looks spot on. Sits perfectly.
  12. Looks spot on as is either way. No scrubbing issues at all? How's the ride on the KWs and 20s?
  13. I looked but couldn't find anything similar. Hoping to consolidate IS F dyno results into a single thread for reference. This information is easy to find for the US market but hard we are short on it here. I know dynos are limited and can vary car-to-car, day-to-day, dyno-to-dyno but with more information we can spot trends and nut out effectiveness of mods for Australian IS F owners. Those who have had their IS F dyno'd - be it stock or otherwise - post away. If people can please state time/date, dyno type (mainline, dyno dyamics, etc), modifications and some details on your car (year model, etc), dyno sheet if possible. Looking forward to seeing some results :)
  14. Bloody great videos and pictures! Awesome. Looks like so much fun.
  15. I read that keeping the rear mufflers to eliminate droning from the JoeZ leaves the car with no power benefit. Would it be worth doing headers only in this case? That is if you don't want to have to swap them for different purposes. It seems the full Borla fairs better on drone than JoeZ - despite JoeZ himself fiercely defending his product with happy customer testimonials - fair enough too.
  16. I like your partner LOL My wife has a bit of sway in it but I really choose myself. She didn't want me to buy the IS F, for instance. She would have preferred a M5 or M6. For her car I give her choice but I do the work (finding/buying/paying).
  17. I still think they need a better range of engines and transmissions in order to beat BMW. Let alone how the public takes to the controversial looks (I like it though).
  18. How did you go? I'm envious of all the sweet driving you've been doing - great videos of it too.
  19. I wouldn't have thought it included a port and polish, perhaps just exhaust and intake? How good it is and whether you like it will depend on the exhaust used and your tolerance for drone. Perhaps some more knowledgeable people can chime in for with more info. EDIT: Just realised it's a port match. Rolleyboy has had this done so can probably provide more info. See in this thread: http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/10936-lexus-isf-aftermarket-exhaust/page-6
  20. That was my first thought was that it was a piggy back. If it's actually been cracked that's massive news to the aftermarket scene especially for the US market. Sounds like Danny is pretty clear on it having been cracked though! I can't wait to hear more.
  21. The links work well. I'm keen on getting mine repaired. I bought my car with rash on it but I may well save the money for a new set of rims instead, not sure; will depend on how much they cost to repair.
