Any updates on this? Very exciting stuff you're up to, I've never heard of people cracking the Toyota ECUs. 480rwhp is massive power NA for exhaust/tune. I always found it odd, are they that hard to do?!

They are really cheap in the US, in comparison. $500 plus shipping second hand is pretty normal (each side).

Certainly a greater depth to the noise with headers, I'm just worried about overall noise and especially drone.

That sounds like a perfect compromise - great post. When I get an exhaust it'll definitely be a Borla... I wonder how much headers will impact the noise? Does the Borla remove the secondary cats?

I'd guess less than $50k, personally. But I hope I'm wrong! Hard to predict future demand, I'd expect it to be solid enough. A 2009 and a 2011 sold at the Pickles luxury auction easily last weekend so right now demand is good enough.

Given they are a special model I don't expect values to fall off a much as regular cars. I think a drop of $20-30k would be something I would factor in.

Good news story for my rattles. I've all but fixed those coming from the dash. Some time in the passenger seat after a trip from Sydney let me fiddle for a while on it. I pulled the passenger vent and just pushed on it until I found them. The source of the centre stack and passenger vent rattles are the dash 'mat' being loose. This can be fixed by removing the passenger upper vent (just comes out if you pull cafefully) and tightening that area. I wrapped my passenger vent in felt several times so it was a tight fit to get back in. This puts pressure on the dash which runs all the way to the centre stack and stops the centre vents and console from moving around, also stops the rattle from the passenger vent, too. So pleased I found it and fixed it. It rattles now and then still but only on big bumps, which is acceptable. I'll just accept the door rattles, the car is far easily to live with now it no longer sounds like the centre console is about to fall out (and the annoying passenger vent one).

It's certainly looking good - I just wish Lexus would have their cars sit a touch lower like BMWs. I like the Jay Leno's garage videos. Thanks for posting.

I like the stock sound - it's my daily and don't want it too loud - would a set of headers only improve power? Otherwise what is the quietest exhaust?

Mine's a 2008 and I find it frustrating when it spins the inside wheel so hard, also sometimes it can surprise you wish snap oversteer. I think the LSD would fix both these traits. Overall great though.

Tyres are fine because of the wet and slippery surface; the brakes are usually just used quickly now and then. The car handled it easily with enough power to use low revs in 2nd gear all day (depending on the driver!).

I just put a set of Falken 452s on in stock size about a week ago (went through a set in 4 months )... I wish I saw this before hand! How many kms do people tend to get out of their tyres?
