Some cars still use a MAP sensor, but they're not too common. Controlling idle with an AFM is easier than a MAP sensor. Hmm, the Autronic website seems to be down for a revamp. It might be worth talking to the guys at Silverwater Auto Services, as they were the guys in the know when I was looking at Autronics for my last car. I had a quick look at the MoTeC website and can't actually locate an ECU which will run 12 injectors natively, so that might not be the best option for our cars. It's odd that they advertise them as being able to work on a 12 cylinder vehicle, but not control 12 injectors. Probably just using waste spark and batch injector firing on a massive 12 cylinder lump and not individual control for each injector/sparkplug.

The Autronic ECUs are pretty amazing in what they can achieve. If that can't so it, a MoTeC M8 can do anything. For $8k for all features unlocked, it had better be able to do everything!

All Toyota ECUs are locked down and no-one has ever figured out how to mod one properly without a bunch of piggyback computers or full replacement of the ECU. I'd imagine the Lexus ones being even worse, since they are loaded with all sorts of gizmos that most Toyotas aren't, so would be doing a whole lot more.

Same as calling a 1JZ the same as a 2JZ... almost the same, but different. Block heights are different to give an increased capacity, but all in all, much the same.

Totally agree that the SC is a waste of money. I think you mean the LS600h engine is the same as the IS-F minus the cool Yamaha bits (2UR-FSE and 2UR-GSE respectively) The GS460 us a 1UR-FE 4.6L V8.

60hp/45kW from the supercharger kit. Not a great deal of an increase considering it's a $7000 package (minus shipping and taxes). Compression is quite high, which is the most likely limitation for boosted setups. The pistons don't really need any holes in them :P Best off buying an IS-F... extra 1.5L of capacity and another 100hp/75kW and a slightly lower compression ratio (10.8:1) which is still not great for high pressure forced induction.

Yeah, I've upgraded to new pads + discs at the same time twice before and haven't had this issue either. But I have read the advice not to do it at the same time as well. *Shrug*

I've always read that about brakes, but what happens when the car is delivered from the factory with new pads and discs?

Smart card is the size of a credit card... leave it in your wallet and you won't even need to use the normal key.

Sounds like the injectors when the engine is cold. You can adjust the tacho to light up at any RPM you like... there is a button to the right of the steering wheel to adjust it.

Quite correct... to be legal you need to have auto-levelling and headlight washers as well. Oh, and not 6000k+ colour temps... 4300k is standard.

I dare say identical to the IS250, since they are both GR series engines. BTW, I think I remember you from ALSC or Toymods way back in the day... with a pretty awesome IS200 if I recall correctly.

The GPS screen has a compass in the top corner if you need one (and have the Nav option).

I'd certainly consider a 350 wagon... but if Lexus do their usual silly "lets introduce the good motor after 5 years" stunt again, I will look elsewhere.
