  1. Taking it to any licensed mechanic will ensure warranty is kept. You do not have to take it to the dealer to maintain warranty status.
  2. Love the new shifter design and the dash. The seats look cheaper than the current IS though.
  3. Hehehe, most of us on here are dedicated to the car enough to not be considered normal. The general population however... :-P
  4. All proper race car gearboxes are set up the way this modification works. I think car factories have reversed the setup as it is more natural to think that forward is up and backward is down for "normal" people.
  5. Sigh... I want the RX450h. About $20k out of my price range though :( How is the fuel use on yours?
  6. Rear end reminds me too much of the new Corolla & Camry :( Lights are much uglier than the current IS. I'm sure the rest of the car will be nice though. Lease is up in August... right in time for the new shape ;) 3IS350 time muahaha.
  7. Haven't done it personally, but I reckon if didn't hit any bad traffic and maintained a nice constant speed, you should *just* be able to do it. Nearly every town in NSW has been bypassed (only Holbrook left I think), so that helps immensely. Victoria is a pretty good run until you hit the outskirts of the city. Bring a jerry can next time just in case heheh.
  8. Weird... I don't do anything particularly special while driving. The SL does weigh a little bit more than a Prestige... wondering if it could be that?
  9. Surprising how that switch can alter how the car performs quite considerably. Try adding an APEXi Smart Accel Controller and you'll get another jump in responsiveness.
  10. Could be that Caltex fuel isn't very good? I never use it due to poor experience with it a long time ago (same with Shell). I use BP and Mobil now and get around 9.0-9.2 average per tank. Nearly all city driving, with a spirited cruise on weekends. An ECU can't compensate for extra weight Idc... my averages were 10L/100km the entire time I had 20" wheels on my car, and dropped to 9.0 when I went back to 17" within the first full tank of fuel.
  11. Ah yes, forgot that the footwells are always on. Wouldn't make too much of a difference if the scuff plates were always on too though. Ouch, that problem doesn't sound fun. Not something I've seen before.
  12. Here's something interesting about rolling diameters... when I have the genuine Lexus 17" wheels on, the speedo reads too fast by 5%. When my 20" wheels are on the car, it's dead accurate. (Confirmed by multiple GPS units).
  13. You could grab from the footwell light under the dash above where your feet are. Wiring colours are red and blue. Look for the LED and you should find them.
  14. My fuel use jumped up a ridiculous amount when I put 20" wheels on mine... I was getting very consistent 9.0L/100km... as soon as I put 20" wheels on, up to 10.2L/100km. Pulled the wheels off about 6 months later and I'm back down at 9.0L/100km. 11% increase just because of heavier wheels. It doesn't take much extra weight to make a difference.
  15. Sedan, coupe, wagon? 2.5, 3.5, 5.0, Hybrid? Don't leave us hanging ;) Fingers crossed for a 3.5L Hybrid wagon but I reckon I'll have to keep dreaming.
  16. I'm out... work is killing me and I won't be free until mid-late December now :(
  17. I always wonder what they have to hide when they don't let you perform a proper inspection.;
  18. Same here... 50km extra is pretty easy if you drive the car "normally".
  19. Pretty sure it's in the menu somewhere... if I get time I'll have a look tomorrow. Pretty sure I made the exact same change you wish to do because it was annoying me too.
  20. Hmm, I've got perforations in my Prestige 2009 model. Sport Luxury also means heavier/slower car and more things to break... or so I keep convincing myself :P
  21. Apparently with the new body shape there is supposed to be a coupe and wagon version to join the sedan. Fingers crossed that it is true... I'd love an IS wagon for work.
  22. You might want to discuss the options with a local installer as well. The range of wrap media we have in Australia is limited compared to what they can do in the USA at the moment. Supposed to be fixed by the end of the year, but I'm not holding my breath... they promised me burnt orange would be available by June and I'm still waiting.
