  1. The Lexus replacement pads from the US are worth the money (around $127/set delivered). I just don't get dust on the front wheels anymore.. no matter how many months I leave between washes.
  2. Usually intruduced around August... not sure if the schedule is this year or next.
  3. You can grab a copy of the wiring diagrams on eBay for around $20. That being said, in the Toyota Soarer, the entire harness for 3 different engines was installed into every chassis. Easier to use 1 harness than 3 different ones. I'd be surprised if the wiring was different in the IS.
  4. Sorry guys... been overworked lately. I'll have pics available on Friday 3rd Feb.
  5. Pillars can be done, but you will have to live with the vinyl ending part way across a solid panel (bottom of the C pillar). Can't post any pics until 1st week of January. Non disclosure agreement with the client until then.
  6. I bought 4m of matte black for a client I'm wrapping this week :) Will let you know how it goes. Not a Lexus install though.
  7. Another $5.95 and you can add the relay as required. A 30A horn relay will be fine. I have never run anything under the IS... there are plenty of plastic shields you should be able to hide it behind.
  8. Ah okay, won't be able to borrow power from somewhere else then. What I would do is to run 8 gauge wire from the positive terminal of the battery into the boot (either thru the cabin or under the car) and just run a small length of cable to a grounded bolt in the boot. Make sure you fuse the positive wire with a 15-20A fuse to protect from excessive current draw. Terminate both cables with a suitable cigarette lighter socket (Jaycar have various types, including a nice one you could screw to underneat the parcel shelf to make it all look nice and neat. Cost to DIY including components shouldn't run more than $50 or so. Positive cable: (approx. 5m worth) http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=WH3060&form=CAT2&SUBCATID=995#1 Negative cable: (1m worth) http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=WH3062&form=CAT2&SUBCATID=995#1 One set of these... one for the battery end, the other for the grounded end: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=PT4562&keywords=eye&form=KEYWORD One of these... even comes with fuse holder: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=PS2009&keywords=cigarette&form=KEYWORD Just needs a bit of soldering and you're away!
  9. How much current does it need to draw? You might be able to "borrow" power from nearby wiring.
  10. Lexus increased their rate from ~7.0 to ~7.5 in August 2009. I managed to scrape in just before the rise. Didn't hear about the zero percent offer the following month though.
  11. Front - 20"x8.5" +38 offset running 225/30-20 tyres Rear - 20"x10" +45 offset running 275/30-20 tyres
  12. I have the F-Sport intake, so I clean my filter on an as-needed basis with the supplied cleaning kit. I'd really only replace the standard filter if it was dirty enough. If it still resembles some sort of white colour, I'd leave it alone. We can talk a bit more about it tomorrow in the morning :)
  13. See you there... very close to 10:30am. Gotta leave here extra early to get there on time. Stupid courier never turned up with my new bits, so no mod until the next meet :(
  14. Brake fluid is hygroscopic... it will absorb moisture over time. This is why it needs changing every 24 months regardless of how much the car is used. Without properly functioning brakes, you are not only a danger to yourself, but other innocent people on the roads. I never reach the KM limit for my services, so I get them done every 12 months, which should really be the minimum to ensure that the car is in optimum condition and will live for longer.
  15. Don't get too excited... I just mean that I don't think I've seen another IS with the mod... seen other cars with it B)
  16. Power windows need to be reset on every battery disconnect, so that's not a "problem" as such.
  17. Just a reminder guys... this cruise on this Saturday! I had forgotten until Danny reminded me. To inspire more people to come, I will have a new mod to the car that I'm fairly sure no-one else in NSW (possibly Australia) has... come to the cruise to check it out!
