  1. Surprised this thread is still here and not yet spotted by a mod???
  2. Not many 335i buyers "tune" them. There's more to think about than that. Higher running costs on the BMW. Insurance & service. The level of service is no where near as good. No free loan cars at BMW even though they charge more for servicing. BMW only 3 year warranty v Lexus 4 year
  3. Couple of things wrong in your post. Firstly the 3yr/45000km service is listed as free for those Lexus customers that qualify for the Lexus Corporate Programme according to the link to the Lexus Australia website below https://www.lexus.com.au/services/corporate/ Beyond the benefits of the servicing included in the Lexus Corporate Programme, there is no differentiation in servicing costs between customers that I am aware of, they are the same for all.
  4. I remember when someone first got there IS350 them saying "Nah I'm gonna leave it standard.....I'm not going to mod this one" Nice work mate I look forward to hearing it.
  5. Sorry to hear JayJay........jealous people with tiny minds. You can think of it as Kryptonite if you want but its not................nor is it harder than ceramic. It would be done from factory if it were. Nothing beats good quality wax done from time to time. A good det
  6. A non Lexus stamp in your service book most likely won't affect your warranty, provided they use the correct parts and follow the required schedule, but it will reduce the cars resale value. Full Lexus service history more valuble than non genuine service history..
  7. Not sure where you get that from. It may have been correct 10-15 years ago but the demographic has changed. The average age of a new Lexus buyer is I5-20 years younger than it was pre 2000.
  8. Used car purchases are different to new car. I think a few people here have missed that you are buying a used car. Two very similar used cars can vary in price because of the price they were obtained for. If car A was traded in by a person that drove a hard deal then maybe car A cost the dealership more. If car B was sold to the dealership by a person in a hurry, perhaps leaving to go overseas then maybe car B cost the dealership less. No two used cars have the same cost. Buy the one from the Lexus dealer that seems the best value and then just service it with your local dealership.
  9. Looks great
  10. First service is free. Take the car to the dealership you purchased it from..............why would you go elsewhere? If Sutherland is your local then definately go there. I don't see why you would consider to drive all the way to Chatswood when you live near Sutherland?
  11. Tony just contact the dealers near you to obtain current prices. Best to get the prices direct and accurate.
  12. Absolutely crazy......not a good thing. Certainly don't want our cars getting this type of profile with the Police. Hope they throw the book at him. Sunday, 29 December 2013 05:19:27 PM Police have charged a teenager after he was allegedly clocked at more than 200km/h in Sydneys north this morning. About 6.50am (Sunday 29 December), police from Harbourside Highway Patrol were conducting speed enforcement on the Warringah Freeway at North Sydney for Operation Safe Arrival. They spotted a black Lexus sedan travelling north, well in excess of the 80km/h speed limit. Officers clocked the cars speed at 205km/h. Police followed the Lexus, which took the Willoughby Road off-ramp. Officers will allege the car then travelled along Willoughby Road at between 130km/h and 140km/h in a 60km/h zone. The Lexus slowed to around 40km/h when officers activated their lights and sirens but did not stop. A slow speed pursuit continued along several local roads before the Lexus stopped on Penshurst Street. When police were handcuffing the 18-year-old driver, his girlfriend got out of the car and started assaulting the officers. She was eventually placed under arrest. Police searched the car and found a 45cm long machete and 30cm long metal blade under the drivers seat. The pair was taken to Chatswood Police Station where the driver returned a breath analysis of 0.137. The Chinese national has been charged with exceed speed limit by more than 45km/h; drive in a speed dangerous to the public; police pursuit (Skyes Law); and mid-range PCA. The man holds a Chinese drivers licence and as such has been issued with a notice suspending his authority to drive in NSW. His 18-year-old girlfriend has been charged with assaulting and hindering police. The pair will appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 30 January 2014.
  13. Fully agree that the increase wouldn't be anywhere near that figure. Half would be more likely and still a good result.
  14. Just wanted to wish everyone invovled with ALOC a Merry Christmas.
  15. Great write up Lexus Nerd. Did everyone with a new gen IS get an email from Lexus Aust today? Enform is on and dealers will be contacting owners to book firmware upgrades for your IS in the new year.
  16. Yep definitely a good addition to any IS350. Ask if they can do you a better price. Group buys..................are whack.
  17. http://seasucker.com.au
  18. Time attack IS-F so much louder than the LFA in real life. Way louder. Doesn't sound that much louder in that clip though. The ISF was actually painful on the ears it is that loud.
  19. You sound like you know what you're talking about. As you mentioned there are other things to consider. As soon as there is a trade in or finance the purchase price becomes subject to other factors Smart buyers that get a real deal usually keep it to themselves. Posting bigger discounts does nothing but ruin your own resale value.
  20. What a great club meet. Best I've been to as far as numbers go and new faces. Over 40 people I believe. Plenty of good things to write about so I'll post more later. Thanks everyone that attended, from as far as Brisbane!!!
  21. Good to hear you got one Dennis Feel free to contact me if you need help with anything in the future and I'll do what I can for you.
  22. Yes and that is a great thing being owned or part of Toyota Toyota score higher in JD Powers quality tests than BMW And Lexus score higher again. All Lexus in Australia are made in Japan all having the same level of fantastic build quality. BMW are not all made in Germany, many made in South Africa or worse the USA. So much for German build quality. You made the right choice so just smile next time a South African taxi cruises past wearing its 325i badge :)
