  1. Thanks for your replies.I realize that the 1st.service is free but what i was mainly looking for was anyone's service experience at Lexus of Sutherland. No one here appears to have been there for their service.I will most likely go there for all my services.Chatswood and Sydney are too far.
  2. As my 1st service is due in a few months i just thought i'd ask if anyone has had their car serviced here?Looking for feedback, positive or negative.I've heard positive feedback from Syd.City Lexus and Chatswood but as i live and work in Sydney south my 1st preference would be Sutherland.I've spoken to the service dept.and asked what engine oil they use,was told Castrol professional 10W40.This seems a bit thick to me,thoughts and opinions please. Thanks Tony
  3. Going to 235/40 over 225/40 wouldn't this increase the rolling diameter of the tyre which in turn puts your speedo reading out?che_ryan,what did your tyre guy say about this?
  4. Thanks Denis.I'd be interested to know how the dealer that quoted you $590 justifies charging $110 more????
  5. This is what i suspected.BigDenis please tell me which dealers they were. You can PM me if you like.
  6. BP Ultimate.Heard nothing but good reports about this fuel.I've heard from reliable sources to avoid Shell.
  7. I'd go the F Sport suspension over any coilovers. They're designed specifically for the car.
  8. Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs.30-35mm drop. This setup will transform the car,it'll handle like it's on rails with minimal sacrifice in ride comfort.
  9. Hi all. Please post your service cost for the following scheduled services. 30K service. 45K service. 60K service. Also please state the service center where the service was performed and if you would recommend them. From prior experience i've found service pricing from dealer to dealer to vary quite a bit.
  10. I get the impression that some motoring journos try to underrate Lexus cars.Sure they have some faults but doesn't any car.I'd rather a Lexus than a MB or worse still BMW.Sure they 're well designed and have the edge on Lexus in that regard but reliability!!It's a no contest.
  11. Legally you can go 2"over standard size rims so 19s would be legal. Also i think a variation of + or - 5% in rolling diameter is allowed over standard.Correct me if i'm wrong!.I reckon your best option would be 18s.Looks good and decent rubber is still a reasonable price. Also the crap roads we have to put up with particularly in Sydney. My car has,i think the F sport rims on it which are front 225/40/18 rear 255/40/18.For ride, looks and handling i think this is a good combo.
  12. Yes it is.The cover prevents dust and foreign matter from getting into the cluster and doing permanent damage to it. AS manboy said spend the $100 and be done with it.
  13. Silly question, what is the dress code?casual?dont want to be over/underdressed.lol
  14. Agreed.Euro silver would look nice.Or if you're undecided go for slimline plates.Cant go wrong there!
  15. Have you tried using some upper cylinder cleaner on it?Subaru make a good one.
  16. Nice.I have the same car, same colour.Mine is MY13 IS250X.You coming to the meet at Sydney City Lexus this Saturday?
  17. These look good !! Genuine 17s.Reasonable price. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/chatswood/wheels-tyres-rims/used-2009-lexus-is250-prestige-wheels-and-tyres-500-ono/1032794151
  18. I think the higher than normal oil consumption in some Lexus' may have something to do with the long service intervals.I'm changing my oil every 6 mths.(I've already changed it already it's relatively easy) just to be on the safe side.I'm still not comfortable with leaving ANY oil in an engine for 12 mths/15K.
  19. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt.I'd say someone has stuffed up with organising the tint.A dealer of that size and reputation would be mad to intentionally do something like that!!Make it clear that you want your car picked up(or a loan car),tinted, dropped back to you and compensation.Go them for some free services but above all don't lose it or be rude etc.I'm sure this is an oversight.Make sure though you milk it for all it's worth !!
  20. Remsa get good reports.OE suppliers to most european brands, low dust and rotor wear 650C rated, reasonably priced.I've emailed a guy on pricing.I'll post as soon as i find out how much.Soooo sick of the dust from the factory pads.
  21. AS per my previous post i also used Castrol Edge titanium 5W30.I'm sure there are better oils out there but this will only be in there for 6 months till it's 1st service not to mention i only had 5Ks on it when i changed the oil.Car takes approx.6.4 L of oil.I just couldn't leave engine oil in a car for 12 months. As for cabin filter here's a link.Approx.AU$18 delivered !!http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HQRP-Cabin-Air-Filter-fits-Lexus-IS250-IS350-2006-2007-2008-2009-2010-2011-2012-/390502440761 As for install just go to youtube for install instructions.Easy.As for brake fluid change i'd leave that to Lexus service.
