Sydney EOY meet up/cruise - 3 December
LTuned replied to BCHLER's topic in Club News and Events / Meets
Looks like you all had a good day. -
Yes there are more options for 18inch mags, but they look to small in dia on the ISF. with too much guard to tyre clearance, & the speedo would also be way out, but for the track they would be fine. I like Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2’s on my 19 inch track rims, they grip well, fill the guards nicely & are very quiet. P.S. I have order from RR Racing, there 2 piece front rotors for the ISF to use at the track. looking forward to testing them next year.

It great you had a fun time. All these small AWD pocket rockets with launch control are very fast off the mark, but by 50 kph there advantage is gone, as RWD vehicle will have traction by then. Starting the race at 50kph, the pocket rockets advantage off the mark is over, & KWs always rule. P.S. Looking forward to your next dyno run.- 53 replies

Sydney EOY meet up/cruise - 3 December

I would like to attend, but sadly the 3rd December is not good for me. I'm sure you will all have a great time. -
I think it’s a must do job on the ISF.
-
It’s good having separate track mags & tyres, as it saves my street MPSS tyres, & you can fit better track tyres. at the track the ISF is hard on the front tyres.
-
Excellent news. looks good.
-
I could change them myself, but I get the good people at Lexus of Chatswood service to change them over for me, when she is in for her pre track inspection. they also fit my track mags before I do a track day with them. & they change them back after the track day at her post track inspection. Track days are so much fun.

Here is a picture of my rear 275/35 Michelin Pilot Super Sports tyre on the standard ISF OEM rear mag, it fits perfectly.- 53 replies

If you use the same rotors with different pads, they have to wear into each other as they are not perfectly flat, but they will work. I’m sure driving around and out to the track, plus after a 20 minute session on the track they should be ok. When I take my ISF to the track, I have a spare set of OEM front rotors with Project Mu RC 09 pads, marked and labelled so they go back in the same position on the ISF, and in the same place in the front brake calipers. That way they are match perfectly to the rotors every time I use them. As the rear brakes don’t do as much work as the fronts, (only 20 to 30%) I only change the pads over to Project Mu RC 09. they have to wear in, but after driving around and out to the track, plus a 20 minute session they are fine. One of the things that I like about the spare set of OEM front rotors for the track is, it keeps my street OEM front rotors looking like new.

That’s excellent.. the large free flow intake gave you the extra power. looks like a good job. enjoy. You will need wider tyres.- 53 replies

If you are worried about carbon build up, book in for a track day. it will keep your engine clean, & you will have a lot of fun.

It’s a fun vehicle to drive, & it’s great having a vehicle that I don’t mind if it gets dirty. I’d like to get out to the corner posts of the states, the Simson desert, or down by a nice river for lunch somewhere. The FJ (Tonka truck) will do it easily. The good people at Lexus of Chatswood service are looking after it for me. I’ve still got the GS as well, I’m turning into a car yard.

The supercharger does look good, & yes it would be great fun to have, but I have something else to spend money on. I purchased another vehicle in April this year, I picked up a demo 2016 Toyota FJ Cruiser. and it needs some extra bits, to turn it into an adventure fun machine, for us & our dog to do some travels. A bull bar, winch & uhf radio are going to be installed next Monday, & more stuff to follow. So the ISF will have to wait for its next expensive accessory.

It look a lot neater than the RR racing one, probably around the same price. it would be a lot of fun to have, but sadly not for me.

Project Mu NS400 pads are good for the street, & low dust which is great. I have used Project Mu NS400 on the rear brakes, & HC800 on the fronts at Eastern Creek. the HC800 work well. the NS400 get to hot & fade at the track, but are good for street use. at the track I now use Project Mu RC 09 Club Racer pads on all 4 rotors, they are great at the track, but are a little noisy for street use, (unless you like that) they also make a lot of dust. I use OEM rotors. Good 2 piece rotors at the track would be better.

I have the clear plastic film on the front of mine for protection, you can only see it when you are up close. I'm happy with it. Paint protection, I just keep my ISF waxed.

Well done, she looks good & low km. you will enjoy the ISF.

Good news, tell us all about your new baby. any pictures.

I cannot believe how long this PPE header group buy is taking. considering 2 people in the club, ordered there’s from RR Racing, & it took them less than 3 weeks. Mine were here from PPE in about 4 week. There is no way PPE would take this long, they would go out of business. Christmas is almost here!! I agree, this group buy has been a learning experience. I’d save time, which is money, and order them myself.
-
Excellent news about the headers. your GSF looks good.
-
Oh. this is a very long process.
