  1. I recon Carmate would sell some.
  2. nope, i think it's better not to for security reasons.
  3. I stuff some stuffings in between the windscreen and dash right in the crack. I also put some stuffings right under the glovebox (under the knee airbag. The only place i havent really visit is the side air vent on passenger side as i don't know how to take out the actual vent casing. You'll find by foaming the other two areas, things will be alot quieter.
  4. How does NXT compare to Gold Class? I used Gold Class twice and gave it as i felt it doesnt give the shine...now using Armorall. I always uded cold but tried warm water, i think most car wash solution are for cold washing... They way i do my washing is hose, 1 buck of clean water with spung to clean off dirt, then 1 bucket of solution using spung, then host off solution and then dryed immediately with synthetic chamois.
  5. Just want to know when you wash your car, what product do you use and in what water temp. warm or cold?
  6. Bluey, keep an ear out for 'buzzy' sounds as I believe this is what people refer to when they say rattles.
  7. My rims are the 16" and are not what i would want to showcase if u know what i mean? It they were the 18" then i would feel differently. I like my car as much as everyone like theirs don't get me wrong. I just want to give it the right level of love that it deserves at this stage (stock Prestige) cos i know i will want to like it more and more when i get wheels and other stuff. If my car was a luxury sports, i recon i would not be saying all this lol!!!
  8. There are i think 4 clips that holds the side panel in. One of the clip you need to becareful as it is different to the others and can come off and fall inside. To open, just use a flat head screw driver (or something flat) and lever out slowly and slighly one area/point at a time. Starting at the bottom. I have openned this a few times but the problem is everything is well caged in and you won't be able to get further in the dash to do anything. To get further inside, you need to open the actual circular vent hole, which i do not know how to.
  9. Some color have a shinnier finish to them than others. This is given, and no matter how much you wax your car (if you do have that dull color finish), it will at best shine to the same degree as another car with shinny paint with just a wash. I left my wheels dusty as i couldnt see any point of washing them when they take only 2-3 days to go all dusty again. i'm getting new wheels and when i do i will want to wash them everyday i recon. :)
  10. When i took my car in for rattle fix, they gave me a brand new is250 as a loaner. The moment i drove off with the loaner, there was already minor rattles. I truely thing the rattles can be fixed if you know here to insulate.
  11. Manual says to use 5w-30 (otherwise 10w-30 in certain cases), i would think 5w-40 is ok going by what others say. I have Mobil 1 0w-40 ready to use but have not find time to change my oil.
  12. There is a fix for the dash/air vent rattles but i can't seem to remove the actual vent casing.
  13. You have rx350? 1.5" is heaps low, i would be happy would 1". How much did they charged?
  14. I'm kinda interested but i'm not sure about applying it now (6 months on) as apposed to having it done before i took delivery Send me some info juxtintt@hotmail.com
  15. I would be interested if it doesnt cost an arm and a leg, what brand did they use and how much lowered was your car?
  16. So the downpour in Sydney is much needed but is it so much that my fog lights have condensations in the corners?. Does anyone get condensation in their foglights?
  17. Trust me, sh.it will happen when you become over pedantic about things. Over worrying and over protecting your car will not save it from fate. I mean how often have you washed your car and the next day it rained?
  18. I'm happy to just wash my car once a fortnight. I won't be waxing it cos it takes a good part of a whole day to do it (wash and wax) and that's to long for me. Rather spend the time watching tv and relaxing. Besides, i learnt from previous cars experience that the more i take care or the car the more *BLEEP* happens, eg. scratches, ding etc.
  19. So it's 2006 data?
  20. Just thought i'd let you know, i've been to Terry Shields at Para (place where Lexus Para service their cars) and was shown the oem Toyota they use for all cars, it's a Toyota brand 5w-40 but fully synthetic. I'd assume this oil is used everywhere so yeh something to think about come servicing with them.
  21. I know the Is250 won it last year but just saw a guide in drive.com and what seem to be for 2007, the Is250 is again best prestige. Resale value is equal first place.
  22. I don't know, from what i heard from all, there is not a machine (and material used) that doesn't create swirl marks. Use at your own risk.
  23. I strongly do not recommend any buffer machines as they will easily create swirl marks. Can't vouch for any overseas products but what's available here are a no no. If you value your car as much as me, we would only use good old fashion labour to clean/wax it.
  24. My choice is the CSA Dominator in 18s (not available in 19s) but i heard it cannot be fitted due to offset. Otherwise, and pending cost, Lenso Konvex in 19s.
  25. The door closing sound is nothing but the sound of quality. Not only the sound but also the way it "self closes/aid in closing", you only need to slightly push it and it shuts. As i said so often, i only got the prestige model and not the luxury sports. The fact that the luxury model cost up to 20K more i feel that those who bought the luxury model (or even sports model) are those with much complaining becos they have fork out alot more money, and naturally would want it more perfect. I should like my car more when i get new wheels....
