  1. Mate, Im shocked!! Has anyone else had a 90K service on their 250?? Did it cost as much as this?? From what I have been told, not even the RX's cost that much at their 90k service. And SUV's are generally dearer! Was this all in labour or was there a significant number of parts replaced too! What did Lexus Australia have to say about the price?? Surely there must be a common pricing structure that all the dealerships adhere to........! Looks like I will be sticking with a strict trade in policy every 3years!!! Sorry to hear about your mis-fortune!! Does sound like they lack customer service skills which you expect all Lexus dealerships to excel in!!
  2. Hey Franky, Yeh, Im pretty sure all cars do this. My SUV does at as well. As soon as it gets above the 3degree mark, it will stop flashing. I am lead to believe that it is a feature that is more so designed for the "ULTRA COLD" climates. That is, to warn that ice may be developing on the roads so take caution! Anyway, like I said, My SUV does it at 3degrees and I have read on another forum that Citroen do the same with their vehicles!
  3. Here is the last discussion on this topic. Quite sure that there is no change to this status!!! DVD recording topic Actually, from memory, if you look a bit further back, you should find a more in depth discussion!! Ozboy, if U work something out, let us all know mate!! ;) You could always make a funky "hanging thing" to hang from ya rear vision mirror if you have made too many coasters!!! :D NOT!!!
  4. Hi mate, Welcome! (To the posting scene anyway)!! Im sure that im not the only one here that would like to see some pics. 2.5" drop is pretty aggressive considering that you didn't go with coilovers. 20's............. Pics!!! :D
  5. Hey LDC, Yeh, im feel'n it! I thought the same thing about 6 months ago. I feel that for a wheel to look mean, it needs to be almost concave and work its way out. The M3 wheel do this as well!! One thing though, I do remember seeing a picture of the replica on something other than an Audi, and it kinda didn't seem right. Perhaps because the car hadn't been lowered or maybe you just think of that wheel being only on an Audi. Anyway, photoshop them on and see what they look like! Also, remember that the Audi doesn't have the IS250 PCD (5x114.3). Its generally 5x112. Im pretty sure that the replicas are a multi-fit but I don't really like that!
  6. Hey, Yeh, they look aftermarket for sure!! As for OZ, definately no oem version. If you look at earlier posts, you will see that one of our members has done it. Cevu!! He just bought the aftermarket headrests from ebay (Probably about the $200 mark approx for something a little decent, or spend that little bit more to get a decent quality setup!! As for the video signal, you will need to hijack it from the rear of the unit which is not really a big deal as you can just piggy back off the plug. (Find cevu's post in regards to this for further detail or just let me know if you can't find it and I will re-post the info)!!! As for the second question, sorry, I haven't considered it! If I were sitting in the car especially whilst it were stationary, I would want to appreciate the movie in its full glory! (Obviously I mean the audio track in full digital)! A movie goes for 90minutes and you have a 6 stack, 30 seconds to change a DVD ain't a long investment to achieve this I don't think!! Anyway "Lexus", only my opinion! I do understand the Vob compilation concept, and no doubt possible, but is it really worth it, hmmm???? Again, let me know if you need assistance with the seat rest screens!! ;)
  7. Hi LDC, I would have to agree with Bluey and Art! I would doing anything to repair or rather rectify the damage to my paint before looking at a re-spray! It was my understanding that the paint used on the Lexus wasn't as such thin, but rather soft. I can't recall how old your car was, but I have to say that my paint still has a "Full body" shine so to speak. The only area that I did have a problem with was the horizontal surface of my rear bumper but after some advice from Bluey, now that too is looking really nice!!! ;) Soft........Yeh im pretty sad about my stone chips but I must say that I think that the M2( Sydneys worst motorway) is just crap and I would probably get it on any car but just not as much!! LDC, take the boys advise and take your car some where for a look! In the long term, you will be better off I think!! Put it this way..... I would never ever buy a car (luxury or just plain expensive) that has been re-sprayed!!!! Ever!!!! I guess if the joint is an approved Lexus repairer , yeh I could handle a re-sprayed guard,.......maybe!!! Its just never the same in my opinion. Definately not long term!!! Anyway, good luck man!!! Later!
  8. Yeh mate, make sure you do. If you have the 06 model, get as many of the known rattles fixed whilst under warranty! I haven't heard of the rear parcel shelf problem before!!! Look, I've got the 08 build and I must say that I am pretty lucky that they have improved on most of the known faults!! Good luck with it!!! ;) (Still......all in all, we all have damn nice rides)!!!
  9. I didn't realise that they would do the sunroof without the EMV pack. I would check the the sunroof was oem!!! The EMV pack in the prestige is what costs the $$$$$$!!
  10. I thought that I did when I first bought the car....... Was quite disappointed........ then I quickly realised that it was only the stuff that I had in the door console that was vibrating from the base!! Mate, I would take it back to get fixed as I don't have any grill rattles! (yet)!! My center speaker grill plate isn't quite flush with the dash, but I haven't noticed any rattles from it. Let us all know how you get on (if you do), and what they actually did to re-secure them!!
  11. Danslex is exactly right. It is just that simple! Just use this simple formula. (ohms law) Yeh yeh, I know.... Tell me that this doesn't bring back memories for some you!!! R = E / I Where ® is our desired resistor (E) is the voltage that you will measure. We know this to be approximately 12-14v And (I) is the current draw that you measure with the conventional lights on. ie. original tail light. Or , with all this being said, just guess!!! Later!! ;)
  12. Hi Q, First and foremost, welcome back mate!!! Good to see another old name return!!! As for this problem, I do remember that either Natroth or Akuma had the same issue with theirs. Pretty sure it was natroth. I remember back then suggesting my theory that the LED tail lights simply don't cause the same load as a conventional globe. My suggestion was to introduce a resistor in order to create one. I do remember a post confirming this theory but haven't been able to track it down as yet. (Maybe Natroth or Akuma can help)!! Researching else where, (as you do from time to time), I found on the BMW and M3 forums that those guys utilise the "eagle Eyes" aftermarkets as well. Looks like this is a common thing/ problem but for some reason only screws with the ECU some of the time. In one of he posts, a supplier got involved and suggested the same thing. Try installing a resistor. This was after the usual " Reset the ECU", "check the wiring" etc. Q, I will keep researching and let you know as soon as I can come up with something more definative. PS. No harm can occur with the resistor if you decide to try. Let me know if you want me to come up with some values to try. I would probably try FrankyXs idea and do the reset first!!! That does seem to clear alot the quirky issues that guys have!!! ;)
  13. Hi mate, Welcome! Check this earlier discussion out. Should answer some of your questions regarding the topic!! Bad exhaust smell forum link I will try to complete a quick link page some time soon for all the newbies to our forum!!! ;)
  14. Hey Nush, As Mzlexus mentioned, welcome and congrats with the purchase!!! I do look through most of the posts on this forum, I will tell you that you will find a heap of awesome info in the IS200/300 section. Im sure any info that you cant find the fellas will be quick to help!!! Enjoy ya stay!! Come on fellas, any locals that can hook Nush up with some contacts /suppliers! Also Nush, keep an eye out on the "buy and sell" section of this forum as the other members might be selling springs etc!!!
  15. Hi Uad, I too had the same concern as it is quite loud as you say. Rest assured, my engine has exhibited it since day dot and it has not changed even slightly to this very day. Currently im on 17k. As you have been told, it is my understanding that it is quite normal!!
  16. Hi Naz, Yeh, no one from the forum that I know of has them installed as yet. I do know that cevu had bought them but was going to wait until he bought the F-Sport / bilstein struts before he had them installed. Reading other forums, it is my understanding that most guys just install the springs with the oem shocks. Lets face it, as mentioned, this is the most subtle drop you are going to get. 1.2" after settle at best. Problem with only changing springs on original strut is that the usual traverse of the strut now has changed with the lower spring. As a result, greater chance of seal failure! Many change their struts at this time. If they ever do fail that is!! Ride quality, I read that with both the struts and springs installed, it is comparable to the Tein S-techs. ie, Quite stiff. Having been in Ilv's ride, I didn't think that it was all that bad! Being such a subtle drop, I would personally just change the springs and get the struts at failure, or be more aggressive and get coil overs for the same price that you are going to pay for the F-Sport springs and Struts. Atleast then you can control your height and ride quality. Warranty, hmmmmm? What is the worst that can happen?! You have already changed your whole suspension with coilovers , what, a sway bush or bump stop may crack?? Anyway, only my opinion!!! ;) Here are some before and after shots with the F-Sport springs. As you can see, very slight drop. Before After
  17. Hi guys, Just a reminder that the "Buy and Sell" section is only for members that are wanting to buy and / or sell their unwanted new and used parts. (To make this concept even more simple, anything that benefits this Lexus community would be the guideline to use). You are NOT to use this as a place to advertise or sell as a part of a business. Also members with less then 10 post cannot post in this section Members that do not follow this will be warned and their offending posts removed. Any questions, please feel free to PM either myself or Admin. Thanks,
  18. Spotted, silver IS250 Sports/Lux on Kent St CBD today at about lunch. 19" staggered deep dish aftermarkets. Fitment out to the guards. (Well done with the fitment, very nice all round)!! Nice ride, drop would look awesome!! Now, I will whisper this,it also had roof racks!!! I spent the week in Melbourne for the GP and I would have to say that the amount of bronze/brown coloured IS's along with the roof racks was unbelievable! We are still ok in Sydney. Not that there is anything wrong with that combo!!! Must also add, the amount of modded IS's that I saw whilst I was in town was by the same token quite impressive!!! You guys still represent the IS's damn well!!! ;) Anyone from the forum belong to this?? Nice ride again!!!
  19. Hi Akuma, I couldn't agree with Sapphires statement more. I had this same discussion with a mate a while ago. The sub in our ML systems is doing exactly what it needs to do. As long as you have the low frequency in your track, the sub will respond quite well. An easy way to create a response demo is author a baseline in software called "Fruityloops". It is bulk easy to use and you can create different beats utiliseing different low frequency instruments such as drums etc. Just author a baseline with no high treble stuff to confuse what you are hearing. I think you willl be suprised with what the sub can handle and produce. Burn your project onto a CD and give it ago. You can download the demo here. Not sure if the demo will let you burn though. Im sure someone you know will let you try their copy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <_< FL Studios I think from memory Cevu messed around with an aftermarket sub. Without introducing a new amp, the results weren't quite there! ( I think thats what he said)!!
  20. Hi BennyG, You can buy the oem EMV units from ebay for as low as $3500 approx. Yeh, a retrofit like this is no doubt possible, but is it worth it?!?! As Franky mentioned, the prestige optioned up with the EMV is done in the factory. Yeh, the wiring looms may be there by default, but there is just so much more you need to look into prior to taking on a project like this. I know of someone else that was seriously thinking about undertaking this project, but........................after researching it decided to just sell the car and buy one with it already installed. This to me sounds like the best option. ;)
  21. Hey guys, Love the activity here, but need I remind y'all that this is a forum and not a chat room!!! (Perhaps post the translation)!!! By all means utilise the Personal messages fellas or try and stick to the topic!!! And again, nice ride man!!!
  22. Hi LEX51s, Quite simple. Subscribe to a hosting website such as www.photobucket.com Follow the instructions on that website on how to upload your pics to it. Once you have done this, you will find that there will be a link associated with your pic. Copy and paste that link into your post through the add image radio button. If you were successfull, you should see the pic in the preview pan. Let us know if you need a more detailed overview. Like I said, quite simple once you know how. Hope this helps.
  23. Hey Goodwill, Thanks for posting!! Bout time we see some new rides up in here!!! Very nice ride man! Have to say that I haven't considered that WORK wheel on the IS before but seeing it on yours, looks damn nice!! What was the off-set at the rears?? What spring rate did you go with?? Again, very nice!!
  24. Yeah, hey guys! Thanks for all ya concern! I seriously wasn't going that quick. Probably about 10-15km/h. I'd say due to the profile, the wheels didn't have much of a chance riding over a 90 degree curb! It's funny that every single one of you mentioned that this was now a perfect opportunity to get the wheels I've always wanted.(Must admit, that was the only thing that made me feel better about the situation).(Oh,& the wheel alignment did too)! Like Cevu, my miss's thought that I was pulling a shifty and destroyed the wheels on purpose! 19's? Just not sure. I need to check with my insurance company. You know, the 2" rule!!! I think if this time instead of the deep dish, I go with a full faced wheel, the 18's should look alot bigger. If the misses approves my cash request, then I will opt for the 19's in the WORK wheels!!! Lets see. I need to buy a motorbike before the months end and this aquisition wasn't quite planned!!! But I will tell my miss's that Cevu and Franky said I should upgrade!!! That should sway her!! Jomster, good luck with the rattles man! I hope that they are only the common ones that we have spoken about in the past and easy rectifiable!! Art, don't forget about that mobile wheel guy that I mentioned a while ago. He did a really good job with my ones back then and I know he is fully geared up for all types of surfaces!!
