  1. Just got back myself it was a very good day indeed! Was hot though. Very good driving considering the hardcore LFA pro race driver did 1:11:5 in my car. Looks like you've done this before but its just shy of 1:14;)
  2. Funny you guys complain about the seat, so far the IS-F seats are the only one I can do endless trips in, all other cars hurt my back. As for he exhaust I am really looking to get the PPE full custom that goes with the headers and has switch valves. Everyone raves about them on the US forums but they are not cheap.
  3. yeah mine done all good.
  4. Yep exactly so not sure why these remaining spots haven't been taken quickly??? Only 3 remain though. Peeps here don't like having fun and letting lose once in a while???
  5. Agree. That's why its will be fun. Done it a few times myself good tires are key here. Its twisty but not as quick as EC.
  6. I used to have the same issue with my TRD Aurion absolutely none could figure out what the issue was, until one day my mechanic buddy suggested we try a new fully synthetic oil and viola problem was fixed as simple as that. I read your question by chance too;)
  7. Hey guys, Just thought I'd post this up here. There is a rare opportunity coming up soon (March 9) to unleash the inner little boy and give your Lexus a good workout on the track and have some really good fun. There will be a Lexus track day held at Wakefield raceway this is a unique opportunity and the cost is much less then usual for a track day its $195.00 and it all goes to charity for a good cause. There will be your own Lexus crew to look after your car should you need any assistance lots of like minded enthusiasts and you can finally test your car if you haven't done it yet. You may get a chance to drive the new GS-F and check out the LFA. Everyone is welcome. I wouldn't miss this event as its just soo much fun not to mention you may learn a few trick on car handling. There will be professional instructors to give you confidence should you need it or if its your first time on a track. There are a few more spots in the afternoon session so if you think you want to have some fun you may want to get in now. Let me know and I'll put you in touch with the right peeps.
  8. I was referring to the Eastern Creek main straight.
  9. Good pic John, yes my speedo shows around 225-230 as well i f go for it but I am afraid that is not the true speed (or is it) nevertheless is fun.
  10. its definitely throatier
  11. yeah mine got a bit of extra power to it but you need big balls to brake late into the first turn:)
  12. I regularly get up to over 220 at Eastern Creek on the main straight and the first corner is pretty scary if you get the braking point wrong but I do like!
  13. I'll be doing this soon but first will do some practice runs in Assetto Corsa.
  14. While I appreciate comments about spoiling a luxury car with a cheap exhaust I'm not convinced extra $$ always buys a superior product. I am also just plainly not allowed or willing to spend many 000's on an exhaust Not always just usually;)
  15. I would not touch the suspension anything above MY11, factory fixed all issues and is comfortable. You'll risk introducing issues. Recently heard of an altered one nearly killing someone at high speed and I've had similar experiences. Just saying a little drop isn't worth it IMHO.
  16. All of my passengers and me think that the IS-F seats are some of the most comfortable and they are quite low too but I get what you are saying coming from some other cars. Mine comes up as far as I want it to.
  17. Yeah agree about the front height but I had lots of issues with the upgraded KWs lots of scratching the bottom and after a while it developed a scary "steering snap" under heavy breaking on the track. I would not do it again even it does look a little cooler. Why did you sell the M3 then?
  18. ..exactly why I picked up my second F too, tried everything out there but as an overall package nothing beats it. I wonder how you would rate it against the M3 after owning it? Welcome back to the F family! Ps: having owned the 08 model which needed the KW upgrade I would not touch the new cars they are just fine. All they need are headers, intake, filter and possibly exhaust IMHO.
  19. Hey Danny, I think its a completely different car to the base GS even the chassis is much improved. Yeah looks are an acquired taste but it does grow on you. I'd take it over the RC-F in a heartbeat. (I am still secretly hoping they will announce the new IS-F)
  20. I am going for this. Not cheap but great and you can turn the noise on and off, plus they go well with PPE headers: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f-2008-2014/715864-ppe-full-exhaust-system-with-dual-mode-muffler.html
  21. Well I thought I might just share my thoughts on he new GS-F which I was fortunate enough to drive for a while this morning. First of all I wasn't expecting it to be a ballerina based on the RC-F given that this beast is even heavier and I am not easily impressed these days either. I am not a big fan of the looks either. So with these out of the way when I first saw the white GS-F with the dark rims and carbon fiber bits I thought hmm this is not so bad in fact its growing on me and it looks much better than on photos. I stayed outside while the sales gent fired up the engine and what glorious noise it was a proper track tuned V8 bark similar to the IS-F but more aggressive. Tick there. Settled in the driver seat funnily I did not feel the same level of comfort I did in the RC-F but still it was more then good enough maybe that was due to the huge interior, the interior is of very high quality however I thought the plain plastic center console and door trim coverings were of low quality and odd for the this level of equipment I would definitely opt for the carbon coverings. Everything was very plush and sporty it was a great place to be in. The huuuge infotainment screen was a big plus very easy to read in conjunction with the head up display it just makes life easier especially on the track and in heavy traffic. The exhaust note just sounds glorious especially in Sport+ mode everything firms up and the noise gets a tiny bit amplified via the speakers but it is very enjoyable and does not sound fake at any stage because it isn't they simply cancelled out some of the "bad" noise. However to me it was disappointing a little that unlike in the IS-F it is not coming from the engine it is purely exhaust noise but still very addictive. So I put my foot down firmly and this is the biggie it did not feel any faster than my IS-F ( it has headers) until about 4000RPM but then it really gets going so in spite of that this beast really needs a race track to shine but it will do great on one I suspect and that is mainly down to the ride quality, this is where it really stands out and it took me by surprise. It is tuned so well that I can only compare the cornering and traction to the Jaguar F-Type V8 I recently driven yes it is that good. It is definitely ahead of the RC-F. When you corner hard it is flat and does not kill the throttle to keep you on the road it does its magic so well that you can nearly have your foot buried into the floor around corners, I felt when it was about to let go but the diff and the gizmos kept it very nice and tight without compromising drive quality. For this alone I did not feel the need for more power it has what it needs and it is usable power which is what matters. It could do with about 50-100nm more torque but then it would be near perfect. Put into normal or eco mode in heavy traffic and its jut as relaxing as any GS. I did not look forward to this car but one test drive changed my view completely. Its a winner despite the lack of power in my books. I am now considering an upgrade.
  22. The main issue with using street tires on the track is no matter how good they are they go through 2-3 heat cycles and lose most their grip for good.
