  1. Nope, haven't actually seen it, so it's just hearsay I guess. I do know that the rear window tint on my Soarer was done in non-metallic because the antenna setup is the same as the IS. I never heard a before/after so I have no idea to the validity of the claims. Yep, I had a think about it, and realise that the tint is "under" the antenna so shouldn't affect it, and yes it's insulated with a plastic layer.
  2. The titanium layer in the tint can disturb the reception. You can get metal-less tints, but they do not last very long and end up looking a purple colour after a couple of years.
  3. Clay does the opposite of protect your paint... it strips everything off it so you can polish then wax it. Also, it barely takes an hour to clay an IS. Never took me much more than that do to a Soarer which is huge.
  4. 2. I've got mine to automatically accept B) A "feature" of my iPod interface fixes this issue.
  5. I wonder if Toyota make the same size/shaped pads for another model? For some reason the "regular" Toyota pads are very dustless compared to Lexus pads. I used to use Toyota pads on DBA 4000 discs on a previous car and it was a great combo.
  6. My parents owned a petrol station for 30 years (which I worked at for nearly 10). I've seen what ethanol blended fuels can do to certain vehicles. My decision to purchase 98 octane "pure" petrol is from what I've seen with my own eyes, not hearsay.
  7. I had 20s on my Soarer with HKS HiperMax II coilovers and the setup wasn't bumpy at all. I have the same wheels in near perfect offset for the IS250 still sitting in my garage. I've had the new car for 12 months already and still haven't found a free weekend to fit them on :(
  8. I wish I could turn the footwell ones off completely whilst the car is in motion without dimming the dash. Irritates the hell out of me. I don't need to see my feet in the dark while driving. Too distracting.
  9. Love those wheels domdom... in 19" would be perfect. Cleaning must be a nightmare with so many spokes though.
  10. Idc, yes you can... I bought a pair when I had HIDs so I wouldn't destroy my factory ones. Something like $120 for a pair of them.
  11. Thanks angelika the robot... can a mod remove that post. It's a bot that has signed up just to reply to insurance posts by the looks of it. The link goes to a US site.
  12. Nice to hear the adaptive front lights have gone. A mate of mine has these and they leaked like crazy. A whopping $4500 to replace them. Lucky for warranty.
  13. A&G (Budget Direct) - $1125 fully comprehensive insured as a business vehicle (ie. more than private). I'm old though (over 30) with rating 1 so it's quite cheap for a $70k vehicle.
  14. Sorry to deviate from the topic, but here's a pic from the cruise back in 2003: Every car in the photo is a Soarer of some description (minus one silly Laser I just spotted)
  15. Well, the cruise actually started in Melbourne. We ended up with ~68 Soarers attending... about 13 of them from Sydney. Was a pretty cool weekend. Great Ocean Road etc.
  16. I've done it twice for Soarer cruises before... depends how motivated other members are.
  17. http://www.google.com/images?oe=UTF-8&gfns=1&q=VIP%20car%20japan&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=2560&bih=1407 Typically the "VIP" look in Japan. Ultra low, massively negative camber... stereotypical "dealer" looking car.
  18. Piece of cake to install... just need a hole saw and a 10mm socket. I can assist with that if anyone needs it.
  19. Looking good Chris. If anyone would like any stickers, contact me directly and I will organise. Stickers are $5ea and $3 postage. You can avoid postage and get 2 for 1 deals if you come to a club meet/cruise :D
