Shlick1
Hey Everyone, Haven't really seen many f-sports on here or even on the road so thought I'd upload some of my pics. Haven't done any mods to it yet but thinking of tinting rear lights (Except for white parts) and getting angel eyes or something to match the white bi xenon lights. Also thinking of spray painting the lights (not the bulbs) black as well. Anyone got any ideas? My brother thinks I should paint the rims black - im not so sure though. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys! Mike

Shlick1
Hey Mike, Looks really good! Question, how much of a difference do you feel with the f sport performance upgrades (air intake, exhaust system etc) would you say its worth the upgrade? How much did it all cost you? Where did you get it upgraded? Mike

emikelee
Hey Mike, Looks really good! Question, how much of a difference do you feel with the f sport performance upgrades (air intake, exhaust system etc) would you say its worth the upgrade? How much did it all cost you? Where did you get it upgraded? Mike Hey Mike, Thanks for the comments! To answer your question yes you certainly do feel a difference with the F-Sport performance upgrades. I definitely feel that the car is much more responsive compared to the stock set up plus you have a nice roar from the intake and exhaust when you are doing some spirited driving! Definitely makes the car sound much better and personally I would not go back to stock as the IS250 just lacked character as it was just way too quiet. Some people perfer that I suppose but each to their own. All the F-Sports Parts I sourced from Lexus of Miami directly. The internet parts manager is a guy named Steve and he is pretty easy to deal with. With the Aussie dollar so strong at the moment it's probably a great time to import your own parts. Unfortunately shipping is a bit of a killer though as it's pretty expensive however I find if you buy a few parts all at once then it works out economical. For the Exhaust I got it for $1200 USD and Intake was $315 USD and shipping came to about $800 USD through FedEx - When the parts arrived you will also have to pay 5% import duty and 10% GST on top. I had also bought the F-Sport Spring Set for $285 USD however unfortunately the dealer sent me the wrong set suitable for the GS not the IS and I had to send it back. It was a shame as I really wanted to lower the car. Once the parts arrived I got the local Lexus Dealer here in Southport to install it all which cost about $185 dollars in total which was reasonable. I got a hire car with that and they also washed and vacuumed my car. If I had the Spring Set installed - they quoted me about $700 dollars just for that as they have to unbolt & remove the entire suspension unit and completely rebuild the set with the replacement/installation of the new springs. You then also need to realign everything to ensure that the toe and camber is correct for the lowered stance.

Loving the carbon engine cover, ISF wheels and illuminated scuff plates - any more mods in the near future? Thanks Terry! Yeah still a few mods I'm currently thinking about! I was considering the ISF Rear Spoiler, the ISF Brake Set and possibly LED upgrades available from Japan through Junack. They look great and certainly are direct replacement and plug and play of the OEM Equipment. Unless it looks like factory I would definitely not consider it as it would cheapen the look of the car. I was also thinking of installing a "chip" which I have been told gives you alot more throttle response from the factory settings. A good friend of mine has said that I'm spending so much money and completely styling my IS250 to look like an ISF.....he said I should probably just get a used ISF and be done with it! haha...maybe he is right as you could pick up near new second hand ISF's now for around the $90K mark...which considering how much I paid for my IS250 brand new and all the upgrades, I've probably spent close to that now. I suppose it's a passion and alot of fun and even if I had an ISF I think I would continue to mod it also! What about you? Any more mods to come for your car?? Hey Mike, just wondring where did you purchase your F-Sport Intake? so far I only know you can get it from Sewell but the shipping cost is very dear....Anybody know where to get it cheaper? Hey Kidd, Yeah Sewell is pretty expensive for their Shipping Costs. They are a good dealership and very reputible especially with the technical expertise they have in modifying Lexus Vehicles and they probably have the best range of Lexus Parts on the Internet however you definitely pay for it. All the F-Sports Parts I have on my car was sourced from Lexus of Miami directly. The internet parts manager is a guy named Steve and he is pretty easy to deal with. I definitely have plans to add some kind of modifcations although I am a bit hesitant due to the fact that many people say that it will void my factory warranty. I have been trying to do some research online but suffice to say that there isn't really a clear indication. Do you happen to know if adding fuel intake/air filters will void warranty? I know someone who has a K&N air intake system on their 250 and it sounds amazing. Also as far as angel eyes vs HID, I like what p0c1's mods (on page 22) has done to his lights. Bit I want to make sure they match my current xenon lights. p0c1 do you know what the standard xenon lights are for the 2010 is250 fsports? I think i saw somewhere that they were 16k but the 4200 lights you have look amazing. Also Mike is the back of your car lowered a bit? Many people say that lowering the back even by an inch makes a bit difference but I'm worried that this may affect driving in car parks etc? Love what you've done with the car looks really good! Cheers, Mike

Cheers, Mike I wouldn't worry about warranty that much, its essentially a pipe and a filter, if you install it properly it shouldnt cause any problems. If you're really worried about warranty and want piece of mind, just go with the F-Sport - F-Sport parts wont void your warranty. For lights, if you want to match your stock HID go 4300k. Lowering your car an inch in the back definitely won't cause any problems - you'll still clear most if not all inclines easily. Hope this has been helpful! Haha yeah modding the car is definitely a passion! No regrets on this end! ;) The ISF spoiler is nice, but the ISF brake set? Can't imagine that being cheap though, IMO might as well go get some Brembos or if you want to stay in with Lexus get the F-Sport brakes? They're either Brembos or StopTech (can't remember) and they're nice and blue! Definitely stand out though. The chip you're talking about, is it the Sprint Booster one? There was a thread about it on CL and apparently it doesn't offer any real gains - you get the exact same result by just pushing the accelerator down a bit more. Haha for my car, next up will probably be some HIDs (long overdue!) and maybe some other lighting mods (the Junack ones definitely interest me, maybe we can organise a group buy? :D ) and I'm looking at a couple of bodykits, but am a bit hesitant because I'm barely clearing some inclines when I drive (my own driveway included!) So still not sure, my car is kinda form over function atm. Good luck with future mods and your car looks great btw!
elmarko
Finally found some time to upload some pics of my very mildly modded F-Sport:: The IS F center caps were an inexpensive mod that really lifts the look of the stock wheels. Pretty sure they'd fit most other 18" (and possibly 16" & 17") OEM Lexus rims too. Future mods to include lowering springs, black caliper paint and decals and 4300K halogen parker and fogs - nothing too extreme.

elmarko
Pretty bog standard 4" double wall stainless tips from an exhaust shop in Melb simply welded onto Magnaflow Universals. Does the job but I can see the attraction of getting a more serious setup.
